The animation mechanics are superior in Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2019. I use to love MLB the Show but every since I’ve found out about PYS, I can no longer play the Show. My last show was 16 strictly because I’ve finally have had it with their lackluster, ill-mannered pitching mechanics that to this day, still do not capture the essence of a real pitcher. It’s such a shame because I love Major League Baseball. I spent $80 dollars to import PYS 2019 and would do it all over again despite the language barrier.
@@@2k4ever-v9v ... Unfortunately, I wouldn't know about weird glitch just yet because I haven't actually started playing pennant mode. I'm still just doing exhibition mode. Does it happen frequently or just once in a while? Is the home team still batting in the bottom of the inning though?
@@@2k4ever-v9v ... interesting. I'm wondering if there's away to contact Konami directly about PYS. I know PYS was the top selling game in Japan I think when it first released back in July/August 2019.
@@leogavitt8162 .... for some reason, I didn’t get a notification from youtube about your comment. My response to any comments is usually within the day. Wow..PYS looks so smooth in animation..if San Diego Studios actually cared for The show it could be this good or even better. PYS looks beyond impressive
@PJ ... Yep, PYS is absolutely smooth, which is why I completely stopped playing MLB the Show since 16. San Diego Studios either doesn't care or just doesn't know how to get animations properly done so it looks realistic. I know they say they have revamped their pitching motions for various pitchers, but if you break down MLB the Shows' pitcher's pitching mechanics, they are no where near realistic at all. The other turn off with MLB the Show are the outfielder's and infielder's throwing mechanics. Sad to say because I love major league baseball. PYS will be my baseball game of choice from here on out. I would like to see MLB the Show make drastic improvements to their animations, and hopefully it'll finally look realistic with the new consoles (i.e. PS5). EDIT: Here's an example of major league baseball footage vs MLB the Show's tanaka th-cam.com/video/kflXlIcZ2aQ/w-d-xo.html I simply couldn't stand MLB the Show's pitching animations anymore. They simply don't follow the mechanics of a real pitcher unfortunately.
@@@pjm91788 ... I think you can under the mode called "Koshien Spirits" (create a player for high school baseball). There's also a mode referred to as "Star Player "Career Mode", so I'm guessing one of these may/should/possibly work. Here's a video where someone goes through the Koshen Spirits mode: th-cam.com/video/KPRRQNcCSpM/w-d-xo.html Here's the website that sort of has the English translation for the game. Not fully done though. www.spiritstranslation.com/game-menu
@Ryan Munar ... Yep, overall pitching animations for MLB the Show is still way behind PYS; there is no forceful whip with the Show’s pitchers at all. The pitching animations in MLB the Show just aren’t realistic at all. 2016 was my last and final time I purchased The Show and don’t ever plan to again unless they fix their animations.

I'm looking forward to this game, however, looking at the Amazon Japanese version I see there's a lot of negative rating/review for this game. I still play the one for the PS3 with the WBS teams. I should look into the lastest PS3 version although the WBS teams are no longer there. But how the hell is Chapman here? Also, I wish they added at least English for the whole menu and English subtitle for the commentators. I know at least for the PS3 version and PS Vita someone can hack it and translate the menu.
@Comrade Hatuey ... Are you able to link me to those amazon reviews? I just ran a quick Amazon search and couldn’t find any reviews. What kind of negatives are those user’s saying? I also still have the latest PS3 version, but because I don’t have a capture card, I’m simply playing the PS4 version. But been busy with other things in life; no real time to get a game in these days. As far as Chapman is concerned, I found the footage from the following video: th-cam.com/video/20yrZilfJ_4/w-d-xo.html And I’m not sure how he got him in the game. I tried substituting all the pitchers in, and couldn’t get Chapman on the Giants. Here’s hoping an English version would bee available somehow in the future. This is why I’m still only playing exhibition games whenever I get a chance to play it.

@@strawberryyogurt0 Ah, I see. Here I was thinking that you forgot too since I didn't see a reply after I posted mine. @@robertvuitton ... Using google translate, what you mentioned seems to be the reasons (game mode removed, difficulty creating players, or something about no edit mode, etc.) for those one star ratings. Personally, I just wanted a baseball game that felt like real baseball. PYS is a game that does baseball justice. It’s the only baseball that I play. It fits with my lifestyle - single player, I don’t do online gaming. To me, it’s either a 4, 4.5, or 5 star rated game.

I always hated the The Show's pitching animations. Every pitcher appears to be soft tossing batting practice. In PYS the pitchers throw with authority.
@NYJYK ... Absolutely agree, especially when playing on broadcast pitching camera. Feels very much like slow tosses to home plate. And on more than few occasions, the mlb the show’s pitching motion will look like someone ‘shot putting’ or ‘pushing’ the ball instead of actually ‘pitching’. After seeing PYS realistic pitching motions, it simply reinforced those feelings. PYS has been doing justice to pitching motions since the very beginning dating back to 2004.
@Fito Grabwell ... The video is about pitching motion/animation for Chapman. if you actually think the Show is better when you’ve actually seen the Chapman PYS vs Show comparison, then there’s really nothing more to discuss. But for those who choose to continue reading ... The pitching animations in the Show has been terrible for quite some time. The Show’s pitcher’s lack the proper arm-whip force, lacks torso and hip separation during the initiation and follow through (the Show’s pitcher’s upper torso and hips move in unison as opposed to two separate units), it’s missing the proper body recoil after the pitch, many of the shows pitchers do not tuck their glove sidearm, etc. If I get a chance I’ll post a video comparing the arm angle between the pys, the show and real footage of a certain/specific pitchers. Not sure when I’ll get a chance.
Animations for Mlb the Show 19 look like ps1 animations. Look them up. Sand Diego studio could do way better. Focus on people using money to buy packs of virtual cards and add on bull shit. How about make a baseball game that plays smooth. Mvp Baseball plays smoother than Mlb the Show!
