They really did! They changed the game for everything! Only pro athletes could get aerial footage cuz it would be from a helicopter! Now we all can get our own aerial shots!

Don't know why there are not a million views of this. They should include this video in the messages we send out to other solar systems. Think aliens need to know we surf too. Lot of barriers broken right there.

We live on a beautiful planet and I wish everyone had the ability to physically see the places only a few are actually afforded the luxury of experiencing in person. It is for this reason I'm glad we have videos like this, as watching these videos is the only way I can experience the world in which I live.
I'm not a surfer but I honestly don't think you have to be to appreciate this footage. Just awesome! Nice job...

Oh, hell yes. Especially when yo have this capability. Funny to see JOB charging on a soft top on all day where others in the water are fearful of possibly their “first barrel at Pipe”, and the possibility of the carnage if they don’t make it. Is what it is, those that charge know the repercussions. Shred it, brothers!

It almost looks as if you need to wear a helmet as one guy launches and there's about 20 heads in his way, I wouldn't want to be hit by a surfboard at 20 knots.

Man I would love to learn more about how the photographers learn to stay out of the way of the surfers and manage to take shots. Also, they would have to know how the waves work etc pretty intimately too- if anyone has any good resources they can point me to I would love to see it!!! Thanks!!!
the camera men just duck under the wave when the surfer comes through. the fins only go down a few inches so they just dive before the rider gets there

Call me different but I'd much prefer the natural speed and audio, even if it is a bit washed out with the drone sounds. I don't want to feel like I'm at a movie I want to feel like I'm there. Seeing the spit fly, hearing the lip smack, and sensing the power of the wave in question...

it's a sign of the times, I grew up surfin' Bells & surrounds in the 70's,,, nowadays 90 % of the crowd are kooks, they shouldn't even be out there,,,, it makes me sad that I now resort to lesser breaks,,,,, curse you Ripcurl, & Coastalwatch, & cheap airfares !!!

Played poker with Diff and Hynson at house next to right of way (Volcom house now?) Big norm next door-Santa Cruz guys next to beach park-Heitmans Riveland C,Lundy (RIP) J.Angel, W.Harlow down Ke-Nui towards Haleiwa. Roomie Spacy Tracy knew all the hot rich Kailua chicks-they loved to come out to the Pipeline Pleasure Palace and hang out welcome anytime
Knew a couple GI's from Schofield they'd bring 10 cases Heinie just to be able to check the babes. It snowed alot at the PPP (thanks tracy always got a band to play for free at the heinie parties. M.Ho, Wildman, Hans, etc.more than welcome to use shower and hang out. No sunset school then-cornfields---Kammies Aricias laundromat only. Run out of beer for party? Kammie open up for you-minimum of course

Only koa scrub in lot at ke-nui turnoff @ kam hwy 4or5 empty lots down towards ke-waena no corp houses quanset huts at rocky pt surf shack at v-land in koa scrub no gated community then. GOOD OLD DAYS FORFUCKING SURE

Nice angle of Pipeline. Next thing drones will be in each others way and you'll have to have an Attack Drone to take out unwanted Drones and a Camera Drone that will do the filming.
