Recently bought the Marlin Gen 2 over the 3. Glad I did now as I dont think the new model is worth the additional cost.

I sold my medium marlin 7 last year but i miss riding trails and this looks so good, i’m going to go small this time as the medium was a bit too big for me even tho i’m 5.7

Great video. New bikes should be lighter not heavier. But, I welcome the through excel.
Yeah I agree they should be lighter, but I guess trek is trying to move away from lightweight XC marlins to more trail ready ones so maybe that wasn’t as much of a priority
I get the point of the lower end marlin but for the marlin 8, shouldnt we just opt for the x caliber ? as they are relatively close in price
I personally like the new marlin over the x caliber because of more trail ready geometry, but if you want a lightweight XC bike then x cal is the way to go. I think going from marlin 8 to roscoe 7 makes more sense thoufh

I mean this is pretty much what I ended up doing after my Marlin 8 got stolen I upgrade to the X Cal 9 and I’ve been enjoying the hell out of that thing.

Will the Marlin 4 Gen 3 series be produced? Or will the Marlin 4 and 5 never be produced again?
Trek Marlin 4 and 5 won’t have a gen 3 model, but the gen 2 models of those bikes will still be sold

the gen 3 Small frame is no longer curved so that kind of bums me out since i was a in betweener lol.
Why can’t they just freakin make it boost thru axles? Sheesh
Trek told me it just cost too much for the price range they wanted the bike to be in (have to consider more expensive frame, axle, hub, and wheel)
On my 11 old Trek bike I have a labei alpha gold aluminium.
There is no place where silver and gold alpha aluminium are explained. And nothing like this exists outside Trek.
It seems to be a fake.

Still no boost thru axle makes it look cheap especially for 1200€

I Know right they should have done a tapered head tube and boost on front and rear. Crazy that they didn't.
