Are EVs Getting Written Off More Than ICE Vehicles? It's Complicated

We've been seeing and hearing a lot about crashed electric vehicles in the news lately - including some of the very first crashed and written off Tesla Cybertrucks.
But one thing that keeps coming up again and again in video comments and in discussion forums is the thorny topic of why so many electric vehicles are being written off compared to internal combustion engine vehicles.
The short answer? It's complicated. The long answer? Well, it's not quite as clear-cut as you might think, because modern vehicles -- regardless of their type - are more expensive to repair than cars of days done by.
