    Love your sheep and your moose is great. I don't crochet well, so knitting critters works best for me, I love the designs by Claire Garland, they are small but so cute, right now I'm in the process of making the "Emotional Support Chicken" I find it a great break from making garments.

    I've been looking for a knitting vlogger who does stuffed animals along with typical knits, yay! Your sweaters are lovely, the sheep are adorable, and that moose 😍 I grew up traveling with my dad in the airforce and we were stationed in Alaska for 3 years. I do have the little booklet for Mr Bear put together and ready to go, but so far it’s on a wait list. lol. if you have done him with some of his clothes, could you show him sometime? Beautiful knits! (The sweater you knit for your husband 🤩) I’m happy to see you back here (and also that you could enjoy a break from TH-cam as well!!)
    I love knitting toys… 1. Because they are stinking cute and I always need cuteness in my life 2. They make the most perfect baby gift knits. Unlike garments, they are loved and cherished for years… (just the other day, a mom told me that her 3 yo daughter would only bring the rabbit I knit her when she was born to kindergarten…) Given the time it takes to knit toys, it’s very heartwarming and worth everything. My favorite toy designers are Julie Williams, Susan B Anderson, the Elijah elephant (I’m presently blanking on the designer’s name). I may be forgetting some… I’m yet to try knitting some of Claire Garland’s patterns. My niece is in love with cats, so I’m itching to try one of her kitten patterns.
    I’m looking forward to seeing your progress (when the time is good for you!)

    Hello Svenja,
    I came across your podcast by chance and I’m glad I did! I dig in your timeless yet contemporary style, those staples knits in neutral, toned down colors… I’m French so I’ll keep note of the Faroese wool you ordered here to pair with mohair for your jacket: you certainly were able to convey the perfect feel of the combo!
    I love miniature stuff and I am charmed by your little knitted stuffed animals, please continue sharing! As I’ve never knitted small circumferences, I’d be super interested if you would share the tools and techniques you used.
    Looking forward to the next episode, kind regards,
    Marie (Bordeaux).

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching and leaving a nice comment ☺️ so glad you like my knitting and overall style! Not sure where you are located, but the shop I ordered from is Laine des Îles. Highly recommend!

    • @MarieOdt33400
      @MarieOdt33400 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@svenjaknits Yup, they’re located in Brittany, so further up north from where Bordeaux is (Southwest of France, world-renowned for its vineyards).
      I’ll still have to order but shipping expenses should be reasonable, just like the price of this yarn so thank you for the finding (the yarn + the niche on-line shop)! I wonder how you ever came across with it as Snaeldan is such a confidential brand?
      Anyways, cheers to you🍷☺️

    Keep well! Best regards

    Your knitted friends are so cute ! a couple other channels I watch, also make them too. (The Knitty Stew and Simply In Stitches. ) your sweaters are so gorgeous !! I’m struggling with a pattern for a seamless cardigan, where the buttonband is incorporated at the same time as the body...only because I do not understand the pattern. I’m a visual gal, and learn by watching tutorials..but this paid pattern, doesn’t have one. Have you ever knit a cardigan with a 3sts icord edging ? If you know of a tutorial, please share. Thank you Nice to see you back here . Wishing you well. Happy Knitting ! 🧶💫

      Hi and thanks for tuning in :) I have not knit a cardigan with i-cord edging, but think you would be able to modify any of Ozetta's Field Day patterns. I believe there are video tutorials for these but I would double check before buying...

    I just wanted to mention a cabled pattern that I made for my granddaughter (in Ravelry). Baby’s Aran Jacket by Paton’s. Beautiful result…much bigger size than I expected (age 2 of 3 instead of 12 months)…a bit of a pain to piece together but ends up with a lot of structure.

    I loved your choice of yarn for the field day jacket. I looked them up on the web and found they produce yarns with different plies. Was your yarn choice a three ply?

    • @svenjaknits
      @svenjaknits  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Yes that was a 3-ply I held together with a strand of mohair. I wear this cardigan the most out of all my knits and it has held up so nicely.

  • @GiFtEoS
    @GiFtEoS 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Glad to see you back! I really love your two sheeps❤ I have a question for you as regards mohair. You said using Knitting for Olive mohair with another yarn was a good combination. So far I only used knit picks mohair for my weekend v-neck slipover along with Wool of the Andes and it shreds so much. It's everywhere around me, on my desk at the office... from your experience, would you say that Knitting for Olive mohair shreds less?

    • @svenjaknits
      @svenjaknits  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely. I have had no issues with KFO mohair and shedding, definitely worth a try if you like mohair!

    I would love to knit some accessories as well, the sheep looks super cute. But I'm intimidated by the small circumferences and the double pointed needles. Do you think it is possible to use magic loop instead? Greetings from Germany ... By the way: I recently saw a Facebook post by Flow Magazine that featured you. 🤗

    • @svenjaknits
      @svenjaknits  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I actually use magic loop for most of my knit toys ... very easy to do! For your first one, I would recommend sizing up in both yarn weight and needles. While your toy will end up being bigger in size, you will have had an easier time working small circumferences, picking up/decreasing stitches etc. and figuring out the general idea of making shapes.
