I have 2 x 6 and got a 7. The stabilisation on the 7 alone is a reason to upgrade. the stabilisation on the 6 isnt very good at all, and actually ruins a lot of video with its jerking around all the time.
@Tsunauticus III I have one H6 in a gimbal, its great for that, and the other is just a B-Roll camera for crappy spots. I have some quick mounts and I just clip it here and there, Its OK for that.. The stabilisation in the H7 is a real game changer. And I believe its saved GoPro from bankruptcy. I think you will see the others follow with electronic stabilisation. EIS is so much more flexible and rugged. Its downside is low light. But a 1 inch sensor will fix that in the H8 and GP2 chip

Something about the crispness / sharpness of the clouds and sky as well as the overall color and contrast of the water. I figured I'd check because I have a broken Hero 5 and just saw an ad on facebook where a trade in of any camera, working or not will drop $100 from the price of the either the 7 or $200 off the Fusion.
I personally prefer the hero 5 because not having hyper smooth it makes it look more realistic and puts the viewer more in the action of what is happening.

If you just normal use didn’t care about 4K60 Just pick 6,the price it’s like 40% of 7 if you can find some good secondhand deal and you get those used accessories too.
6 and 7 is pretty similar,the vibrant color,it is just the hyper smooth is the advantage of 7,but if you a wise guy,you can stabilize footage on premiere pro.Just don't forget to shot on 60fps.Thanks
Hello my friend! Thank you so much for your videos! A week ago I got my Hero7 Black and start testing stabilization at different resolutions and fps and founded one big problem. 4k 24 and 30fps with hyper smooth stabilization came out very shaky compare to 4k 60fps.

While the stabilization is undeniably better on the 7, in 75% of the use cases there won't be any difference at all with the 6. So it all depends on what kind of videos one makes. There is a wide gap with the 5 though, moreso with the vibrancy of the colors. They seem kind of muted on the 5. Thanks for your hard work with all these comparisons !

Yeah I mostly mean the dynamic range and low light performance. For example, the black t-shirt he wears actually looks black and the slivers of sky still look blue when it's mostly overcast. The 5 is still a great camera though. Also, the gimbal would probably cost more than selling yours and getting a 6.

I don't know how to think about this, maybe I was spoiled using a dslr for years ... but the video quality ... is just bad on all of them, maybe because of the small sensor I supose

Do you clean then or rinse then in any special way? And do you dare to use them with big waves without a waterproof case? I know they can be submerged until 10m but can they take a wave beating? Those nasty waves can be killers. Cheers
I surf with mine all the time. On particularly big days, I think having a Super Suit is a safer option, but never have had an issue when I didn't use it. After use in the ocean, soak the camera in fresh clean water for 15-20 minutes and then rinse thoroughly. After the camera has dried, open the doors and wipe down the interior around the gaskets with a microfiber cloth.

I bought a new Hero 5 Black for motorcycle riding. Used it only about 4 times and just gave the damn thing to my daughter. Shakiness sucked. I'll get the Hero 7 Black just for the stabilization along with a waterproof case for scuba.
Man! Last year and half ago I had Hero 5 black. Your videos of H6 convinced me. I went and replaced to H6. I wasn’t happy with the sabibzation oh H6. Now seeing ur videos on H7 makes me feel suckered. GoPro make next next next next.... I guess I’ll wait for GoPro 10 Black in five years lol 😂
EIS can never beat OIS or gimbal. Period. I'll still use a gimbal for that cinematic feel. Coming from H3+, I'm happy with my H6 n hopefully get a H2018 mod or H5.

@@robertorayo hm strange, 20 should really be enough. Did you render on fixed 20mbit or variable bitrate? But YT behaves really strange sometimes. Didn't found the right settings for me neither - never got such a quality like mic for example.
Yes, I agree this. I record at 35Mbit on my camera and those videos are so nice, so cleaner, but TH-cam just kills them after uploading, especially the fast moving frames.
video quality on the Hero 7 is sooo much better, much more details in your garden, the grass, the flower, insane! Without the youtube compression that would be even more noticeable!

Leo's Praxisteil really. The 6 is better than nothing. But it can not handle rotation at all. Jumps around all over the place.

Very good comparison. This comparison is honest. If you use firmware 1.60 with the 6 the stabilisation is better under maintain the sharpness.

I think you should use a higher bitrate. Normally you get those artefacts when the bitrate is too low.
