      @@somewherebetweenpsychotica9224 Because sometimes parents are not of a "boomer" as their teenage kids think they are. It's a common thing for teenagers to have risque pictures of themselves and very easy for young guys to pass them around. My daughters are terrified to do so because they know that I will KNOW, within a day of them posting them. Just like it took me a few days to figure out what handle my then 13 year old had to flirt with guys on Instagram.

      The 18 year old wasn't killed. It was the 22 year old college Co worker of the Tom.

  • @frances9975
    @frances9975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +742

    Tom didn't know that Mary was lying, so her lie shouldn't influence his sentence or guilt. In his mind, he had lied to this 18 year old girl and she moved on despite feeling conflicted. He felt so entitled to her affection that he murdered a young man. He is a terrible person, can't believe that they charged him with manslaughter when it was clearly a premeditated attack and his goal was to kill Brian.

    • @blazaybla22
      @blazaybla22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      100% agree that Mary had no culpability in the murder but I’ll just note that I had the same reaction to the manslaughter charge until I heard he got a 20 year sentence for it. If it was like a nickel or dime I would’ve been heated

    • @TubularBelles
      @TubularBelles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Yeah. Premeditated murder. How did they come up with manslaughter? Or even second degree murder?

    • @smithamy1982
      @smithamy1982 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      the reason they charged him with 2nd degree murder, it was considered an act of passion, he was manipulated into believing a lie that left him in a delirious state of mind that led to a crime of passion (even though it was still premeditated 1st degree murder, which we know), the prosecutor didn't believe they could get a conviction for 1st degree murder, given the drama and cat fishing that occurred, so they opted to charge it to 2nd degree murder. however, his lawyer then stepped in and said, so my client will plead guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter but will still be sentenced to the maximum amount of time, saving the town and you from gone to trial, setting the case or we will see you in court. clearly the da lacked a spine and agreed. he's still serving a lengthy sentence but ultimately its not Justice. considering many murderers get off serving less than 10yrs, at least he's behind bars. although, a more fitting sentence would be life with the real woman who manipulated both of them out of boredom

      It's just sad that people get away with murdering someone, and get a Manslaughter charge. My best friend was murdered in the spring because the attacker thought that my best friend called him a name, which he didn't, and got stabbed once in the heart. He never had been in a fight in his entire life. The guy got a plea deal for manslaughter.....

      I know all of these types of things have gone on forever the only difference is the general world population is more aware due to MASS MEDIA ! I have a news paper from the late 1800s with stories in it that aside from the use of archaic words in them they are as horrible and shocking as anything today . Which should give us all pause to reflect on the state of humanity and really our private lives . To just except that this is just the way things are , to me and should be to all if us not an option ! We , I believe can change the dynamics of our own homes , neighborhood's etc. Be actually concerned about others wellbeing more then the clothes they wear or language they speak! The condition of a place that people live in can speak volumes as to their wellbeing . So if your neighbor has weeds and things that need fixing don't judge offer help to them instead . If you have something that they can use or something you no longer need or use ? Give it to them ! You don't have to sit and do nothing but stew over what's wrong with them or get angry and blow up on them ! Choose to show compassion and kindness . By some simple action the impact on all involved can be something miraculous and the ripple effect of this type of behavior is infectious . The positivity can spread in an incalculable and unimagined way .
      People in your own immediate family are different from you why does it bother people so much to have people around them that are also different ? Build bridges not burn them ,build friendships not enemies , build a world united not fractured and think before you act in any way . Believe that you are making a difference with every act of kindness because YOU REALLY ARE ! Don't know where all that came from but there it is . Do with it what you will . Life is what life is , if helping another out can ease some of the pressure of living , why not just doit . The out come may surprise you and change you whole perspective on yourself and the world around you .
      May the GOD'S THAT BE, smile down on us all , keep us safe healthy, give us courage to make a difference no matter how small . ✌️🙈🙊🙉👍

I live in a senior building where people don't realize that they are not thinking as well as they used to and maybe are developing some sort of senility. They forget the good things and ways that I've helped them and recently got angry at the drop of a hat. I was holding them accountable for their unsensible bad behavior but I realize they may not be able to help themselves. Sometimes it's best to let things go. Things could escalate into something as ugly as we have seen in this video. They were all otherwise normal people until they weren't !! There's nothing to forgive there. I had picked male avatars or nicks occasionally on gaming sites and that had to do with me enjoying my character. And one of the gamers I used to pm with said something similar to me and I was like "excuse me?!" the stuff we talked about outside the game had nothing to do with genders. We did exchange personal info, but it had nothing to do with what genitals we had or who we hooked up with.

    On case #3
    I can’t believe it’s been that long since that happened. It was a weird summer and when it happened we had a heat wave. The first night it happened many people stopped by dropping off food and water for the volunteers searching for evidence. That went on for at least a week or two. The area was locked down for a few days out of safety. So many people were trying to set up fundraisers. When the truth started coming out it was almost unbelievable. Then the love that was outpouring for his family started turning to anger as they found out his wife was also spending the money he embezzled and was in on it. He committed suicide to try to get his wife insurance money and his pension.

    man the early 2000s were not good to us. i remember being addicted to it back then. i was 13 and i found chatrooms and made friends and i didn't wanna leave. i finally had friends, unlike in real life, and i stopped eating and going to school and all this shit for the longest time. im just glad i not only got over it but i didn't do anything insane like the first story in this vid. i did meet a lot of people though who could easily have been murderers. so many "kids" got too into whatever they were doing and thought they were the character they were playing. you'd talk to them and they'd snap at you if you used their real name. theres a sort of well known story, i think its called final fantasy house? its about this woman who gets sad kids from the internet to live with her and she just abuses them and uses them. she uses them as cleaning slaves in her house and work slaves to pay for her rent and other items. the person telling the story was one of the kids who was able to leave the house and go home. so many kids didn't leave because they were either too poor because this woman took all their money or they were too embaressed to go back home after making a stink about leaving in the first place.
    nothing like using your real daughters picture and name while online. her daughter could have been killed because of her stunt. i know it was the dawn of the internet but even then we knew not to use real names and pics and even if you use diff pics you dont use family, use some random person on yahoo search and use a diff address, a fake one you made up. the woman didn't even apologize for all of it either and i think i know why. she takes pride in the idea a man killed another man for her out of jealousy so shes not sorry for that. otherwise what kind of person doesn't apologize for all of this?! she risked her daughters life, her own life, and she got someone actually killed and yet not one "sorry" outta her. someones son was killed for no reason, other than ya know stupidity, because of her and she still did not say sorry. how would she feel if her daughter actually died from this stunt? would she be sorry then??

      And context doesn't matter. Any officer that says they've never been ashamed of another officer's actions is either dishonest...or horrible. I mean, that case took place in 2015. I actually met one of Charles' kids back in 2017. My ex at the time was friends with the kids and they went to the same highschool. I lived about 20mins from fox lake and I remember watching all of the searches and the funeral profession on the news. When I met one of his kids they still believed that he was innocent and all the media was lying. They also mentioned how their mom was probably going to jail as well. It was honestly awful to see how this devastated the kids. I don't think anyone expected it. I feel awful for them and I can't imagine having everyone you know convinced your dad was an awful person. After seeing this video I'm more sure that all the media and what my parents said was true. I honestly didn't want to believe it.
