I was fortunate to get to see them live at this venue. I'd scheduled a trip NYC both to dance tango and take in this concert. I've been following SAJB for quite a while and had the good luck to find that Andrea and company were in NYC. Hopefully, I may get to see the rest of the SAJB vocalists.
Andrea is not only mistress of syncopation and excellent jazz singer and player, but also a spreader of good spirit and the beautiful contact soul with the audience.,besides her,,Great piano playing, Great bass, all the members are eminent.Nice varied selection of songs,., Wow, fantastic concert !!- I´ll also say it as David Chapman.,.,thank all of you.!.,
Wow! Wow! Wow!!! Ok now you really have my attention!! I was there at dizzy’s for the 2nd set. Fantastic concert !! Most everyone there watching had to fly there including myself and it was awesome. Many new york musicians were there watching. After the show we got to talk to them and found they are so incredibly humble. I’m a musician. Been going to concerts for 43 years and this was one of the very best jazz sets i have ever seen !!!! Please come back to dizzy’s !!! !!! !!!
Wow! They sound like one - five jazzing individuals who have been grooving together so long! I really dig the qualities of this ensemble and the full sound of the recording (kudos to the technicians!), and enjoy Andrea's voice as the cream of the cake - more expression, more liberties than before. She was a natural in 2009, and now she's a stunning skilled and experienced Errand Girl For Rhythm! She's growing to be the Senior Princess of Syncopation, and beyond!
Oh My God! I was there Monday night July 22, 2019, My Birthday! I never knew this recording existed! My wife and I where at BOTH shows 7:30 & 9: 30! We should be there in front of Esteve Pi...maybe we're to the left just off the screen. Guess I can't brag about it but what a night it was! It's hard to believe that incredibly talented little lady is now a little mama...a baby boy born Oct. 2, this month 2020.
Andrea Motis and Joan Chamorro and the musicians they attract and inspire make the world a better place. People, when it comes to folk life and art and jazz and how to be real: maybe this is getting close, or closer
I live in Denver, Colorado and would've flown to NYC just to see and hear these amazing, world-class musicians and artists had I known they would be performing in the USA.
I think all the ghosts of the great jazz musicians of New York were crowded together watching this distillation of jazz history played so well and with such soul! Been following you guys for years, and it only gets better! Bravo!
I believe this is the best jazz I have ever listened to. Andrea is incredible, as are all the musicians. The finished product is perfect. And Joan Chamorro is so wonderful, in his own musical talent, and in nurturing others, and putting them on display for all to hear and enjoy.
Que grata sorpresa, verlos siempre juntos, interpretando sus propias composiciones, cruzando y tomando vuestro lugar en la tierra del jazz, Congratulaciones, sigan siempre juntos!
No angst, no technical flourishing for flourishing's sake, tasty chart selection, accessibility, melodic squared, unbounded imagination , energy and Chamorro joy and the wisdom to harness the magician Scott Hamilton and oh yes Miles Motis
Maravilloso concierto todo lo que sea Andrea Motis, el gran maestro Joan Chamorro y sus exelentes y habilidosos músicos, sean BIENVENIDOS SIEMPRE. Mm i corazón para todos ustedes❤
Been a fan for a number of years now, watching Andrea grow physically and musically... This is a treat to watch... Thank you, Joan, for sharing this on youtube....
Muito prazer é escutar estes músicos maravilhosos, puro sabor, e quando se sabe, que sabor e saber é tudo da mesma raiz! Só nos resta desfrutar da boa música...obrigada
Andrea your poise, confidence, power, commanding presence on the stage with the fellows, Bravo! Wonderful! Wish I had known you were in my hometown. Hope you come back again after the flu is over.
This is a mesmerizing concert, there's real electricity in the air. It's sort of like everyone knew that this was the Big Apple, and they had to bring their "A" game -- and boy did they! (not that they always don't, but it strikes me that there was just a bit of extra magic going on this night) Thanks so much for posting this, Joan.

Maestro Chamorro mis felicitaciones a Ud. y a todo su grupo musical. Hermosas melodìas saludos a todos en especial a Andrea ya que la he seguido desde sus primeros pasos en la Sant Andreu Jazz Band. Bendiciones.
Wooowww..... only had time for the first two songs this morning but they were great!!!! Love, "He's Funny That Way." Great to see my favorite 3 guys there - The positively excellent Ignasi - the smooth and mellow and quick picker Taver - and the worlds coolest drummer Esteve (love those brushes on the drums). Now the Guy in the Gray Shirt - He's as good as the Guy in the Black Shirt - so he's welcome anytime in my opinion! And the "Rose among the Thorns" there, the beautiful Andrea Motis with that low slightly husky tonal quality to her voice, complimented with the clear, sweet tone in the higher register, just delightful!! Not to mention her feel for the music. Amor, amor, amor i gracies a tothom. Now I go to my daughter's to do carpentry but also will watch this in the evening on her Big screen TV.
@@extanegautham8950 Bonjour Extane, this band has gained more affection from its followers than any other my guess. Rita, Magali (On the Sentimental Side), Eva (Close Your Eyes), Alba ( Trieste), Elia (Braquino) and others I can't think of at the moment. The young men in Brass section, drums (which reminds me of Abril - World's coolest female drummer singing Lover Come Back to Me), Jan on piano and too many to mention. We are in debt to them for all the good music for many years and and the adult regulars and great guests, arrangements, and the very great Senor Director in the black shirts (usually :-)))! Mr. Chamorro, I've seen a few videos of this wonderful ensemble.. Everyone is, in my opinion, a genius. Her vocal pitch is incredible! As a bassist of more than 50 years, I'd like to tell you how much I dig your playing.. your approach, and your sound, is killer! Who made your instrument? Wonderful, tasteful sax player, too. Oh, and I just subscribed... thanks for posting this!
