When I first started doing details, the detailers I worked with always started with the interior first so I became accustomed to doing the interior first but I'm also very open to different methods. Thank you @IMJOSHV for providing your perspective as to why you start on the exterior first.
I tend to start with the door jambs, then interior, then exterior. That said, I'm a home DIY guy with no shade or garage who likes to sleep in a little on his days off, so I'm usually starting around noon. Ya know, right when literally everyone says to avoid washing exteriors. I also move at whatever pace I'm feeling that day and will frequently be finishing up as the sun is basically gone...so like 7 hours later if I'm in a super thorough mood.

If the interior has heavy pet hair or other things like pine needles it makes me miserable. Do you have any hacks in mind to do it faster?
@@romanashikhmin805 experience will always be number one. Do as much as you possibly can from one location as you can, otherwise you’re making a. Lot of unnecessary trips around the car and back & forth to your supplies. Use an air compressor tool to blow off door panels, spray & scrub half of it, wipe it clean, dress the plastics if you want do the glass then vacuum and move on in that order doing everything in one trip. It’s genuinely not as hard as you think to make the whole panel wet with ONR, use your detailing brush and wipe up excess fluid. A door panel should take less than a minute once you’re used to it. APC makes you have to double clean things you’ve over sprayed on cause the residue will hurt if you don’t. Use ONR for all interior cleaning, if there are hard stains, Use APC then ONR then Air. Interiors filled with pet hair should take less than two hours if you have a tornador and practice

I rather do what is needed . If it’s rushed it is not detailed 😀… don’t get caught up with time and things like that… that what everyone is doing… everyone is doing things like a machine… don’t be a machine… ppl will notice the difference, they will never use anyone else… If u overbook yourself and are more focused in just money rather than provide a service then yea be a machine, and spend more time on calculations … I rather deal with the now, get there see what’s needed and tackle it.. not based on prior mind calculations 😀… the word of of mouth I get for that is ridiculous… I already got a based clientele in one neighborhood, and been in a new town for 3 weeks… I take longer than most, But the job so good, ppl spends time just even days after texting me how doll they don’t even wanna drive their cars … Ppl posting me in their neighborhood website or fb pages .. all word of mouth. And been mobile detailing since December only… so take your time, never rush , never over book and do what is needed, don’t be inflexible as a rock and just deal through packages or just do what they ask and that’s it.. always throw some extra.. that’s why u go to the restaurant u go.. and the places u love.. they do something different… focus on providing a supreme service not how to calculate to get it done fast….

Hey Cesar! With the deionized (spot free) water that I use it’s fine for the water to dry on the paint. All of the minerals are removed from the water so it’s safe. If you’re not using di water you want to be very careful and work quickly

Another great video! What deionized water system would you recommend for DIY home use just for my truck and wife’s car? I don’t get the chance to wash as often as I’d like. Also to hopefully help with the longevity of it, would using regular water for wash then DW for final rinse work as good or do you recommend using it the entire wash? Thanks man!

I wanted to formally ask since many detailers don’t speak on it much , can I use super clean as a interior cleaner for door panels , plastics , dash and center console ? Or is it to harsh this is still a learning curb for me
Super clean can stain some of the more expensive materials. Audi and Mercedes’ dash etc. XPress interior by double black is next level. Foams, safe on everything, good value
@@SwavyDetails yes, you certainly can. I buy the gallon jugs and dilute the product 1:1. Though I usually work on really dirty interiors. For routine vehicle maintenance and cars that aren’t too dirty I usually dilute 4:1 with water

To me… it all depends on how you execute the process. Every detail matters and will affect the timing. Whatever your preference, the end result will always be achievable!
De-ionized spot free water is KEY using this method. I always wash, blow out then dry the exterior first and fully, especially if the exterior involves any kind of paint correction/polish. I'm OCD so I need to break up the exterior/interior into 2 stages or I'd go nuts :) First you get good, then you get fast. I couldn't wash, let it air dry while doing the interior knowing I still need to finish the exterior. Whatever works... That 15 mins. you think you're saving in the beginning converts to 15 mins. touching up the exterior at the end... which is literally now a 3 step process. Exterior, then interior, then exterior again.. My OCD kicked in typing this reply LOL
Small car interior are 4 hrs, SUV and Vans are 5 hrs. I do it myself. Is that too long? I feel like all extraction must be white or clear.. Tips to speed it up?
That's about right if the vehicle is in bad enough condition. One thing that might speed you up is just not extracting every vehicle. You can clean most vehicles with just a drill brush and rags if they aren't really bad. Have you been detailing for a while, because everyone starts out that slow?
@Nick Vetter vehicles are in everyday driving conditions. Normal stains here and there, salt build ups, some trash. Nothing like the ones you see on youtube. I think extractor gets it so much cleaner. I've done about 15 vehicles already. Just trying to cut an hour or so. I know 2 person will get the job done faster but can't have another person ATM. Thank you.
You can stop extracting as soon as the surface looks clean, but it looks like you keep going over and over until the water is clear, those extra minutes add up. Once you brush it, drill brush the interior, extract once or twice and call it good, as long as the surface is clean, you extracting over and over is just going after perfection, you don’t have to do that all the time.
if you need to do a sealant or wax in the full sun, which brand do you recommend? I live in Arizona, so clearly it gets hot here. Just curious on you thoughts about full sun waxes and or sealants.
You should probably mention what this application will be for. Just after a quick wash? As a sealant after a polish or paint correction so you want It to last longer?
I usually do only quick Express details interior and exterior as a side hustle and find that for an hour job spend like 30 minutes on interior and 20 on exterior and last 10-15 minutes of inspecting and touching up anything I’ve missed . Works for me

On your complete detail it shows a wax and an Si02 sealant. Do you do both on the same detail? If so in what order? And is there a curing time between the two?

foam, rinse, vacuum interior and blow the interior dust out ontu the deionized mineral free water so it can dry with the water and now leave water spots feel the dust and dirt you blew out? doesn't make sense... unless it really doesn't get on the wet outer panels
I see some people unhook the battery when doing interior cleaning. Does it matter? Where my wife has a newer jeep that is push start I don’t know if that will affect anything if I unhook the negative terminal.

0:45 exterior or interior first, in reality it’s up to your preference but I say you would get better results cleaning a car in a closed space such a garage or shop etc and I would go exterior then interior BUTT!!! If your cleaning your car outside it would interior then exterior that’s my original brain juman opinion

As a mobile detailer.... step one you do the interior..... step two exterior detail..... be real here it doesn't matter if anyone has spot free water systems you're going to let it air dry dust blowing remember we're not in a shop... so then after you finish the interior you going to go back to apply wax 🤔 your creating scratch you don't think? Takes me about 3 or 4 hours moving at a decent pace. My new foam cannon and little pressure washer made things so much easier.

I always do exterior first that way the drips dry by the time I'm done with the interior. Then just do a final wipe down at the end

You can just use the DW for the final rinse. Use your regular home system water before that to save the resin in the DI water sysrem

I always do the exterior 1st. That way the tires get more time to dry before applying the tire shine
What Deionizer system do you use? I have one I bough off amazon but im not sure it totally filters the water..
