  • It was quite the showcase in the Novice group at Summit Point Main. A lot of red flags and a lot of traffic throughout the sessions. The fact that there was no passing allowed in the corners made it tough to get clean laps, but overall it was a very enjoyable day.
I feel like I have improved quite a bit since my first visit here last month, so I'm hoping to continue getting better!

That’s great you’re trying to get on track! That’s the first step! Both EvolveGT and N2 Track Days are the main trackday organizations that host trackdays at Summit, so see which one has dates that work with your schedule and head out there. You’re going to have a great time man!

You still using clutch for up shifts? No need to clutch on upshifts.

Shifting 101 while going put upwards pressure on shifter, when ready to shift just back off throttle for split second and back on throttle. That split second you left off the transmission unloads next higher gear slips right in smooth. Use clutch for down shifts. Once rolling under throttle clutch not needed it is old school speed shifting before electronic speed shifters. Todays riders are clueless how to ride fast without electronic aids. I do not blame riders but who evertaught you to ride.

I never heard of clutchless shifting. I always thought you needed a quick shifter to shift without using the clutch. Thanks for the info man!

@@alexandros_moto old school speed shifting but USE CLUTCH for downshifting can be done rev matching but has to be seen to do.

I just subbed an liked ! I am gooing to get my first bike soon . I really want one to beat the traffic since i live in California. You think this would be reliable? (My job is 60 miles from where i live) so i want something reliable to get me there an back.

Thanks for the like and sub! I think a Ninja 400 is a great beginner bike, but don't be fooled, it has plenty of power. Almost all Japanese bikes are reliable, so if you keep up with routine maintenance the bike should last you a long time. If you are buying used, make sure they have done the routine maintenance and that the bike is generally in good condition. Good luck with your search, and here's an early welcome to the motorcycling community!

@@alexandros_moto I was gonna buy it new an finance it. But maybe I should look for a used one to save some money. And I'm already passed that reckless adrenaline stage in my life haha so I'll not abuse the power. I just love the sporty look. It fits me. And thanks for welcoming me !!
