Either that or it was just plain laziness, reason why I think they just improvised and used the standard ki blast move animation and inserted additional visual fx just to make it look more "special" lol
Donny Mello I disagree with that FZ left me feeling pretty bland as far as fighting games go it’s really basic. Dbxv2 is a RPG so it has more elements to mess around with.
FighterZ gets its impact by utilizing more 2D animation elements like freeze frame, skipping frames and smear frames. It also helps that they’re trying much harder to copy the Dragon Ball aesthetic and feel of the anime.

There are no wasted character slots in Fighterz whereas XV2 has Hercule, Saibamen, Cell Junior... XV2 is hanging by a thread, it’s basically the GTA5 of anime games, it’s a dead game but it’s still being updated. When you play Fighterz you always have something to learn and improve on. When you play XV2 all you experience is loss of brain cells, growing cancer cells, cheese and salt.
Opiyao It does less than standard combo finishers like Kamehameha or Galick Gun, but still restores your opponent’s stamina. You’re better off never using it; even during a stamina break, you could just fly up to them again and land 2-3 hits to outdamage it.
the thing I hate about XV is how lazy they are with the characters, it's literally copy-paste of the previous version we just change their colour hair and some of their ultimates but like that's it, and that always throws me off about xv, unlike fighterz who actually put a lot of efforts on their characters and every single one is different from the other, basic example goku base, ssj goku, goku blue are all completely different characters that you must think about what you need in your team in order to choose one of them. do you want a point character with great mixups but lacks a bit of neutral, or a character that is great as an anchor and gives you great neutral with with his assist and has very solid tools on his own, or a character that has a lot of unknown gimmicks that gets people off guard with a great lockdown assist and amazing supers. that's just one of the many reasons that made me love fighterz way more than xv but at the end of the day it all comes down to what you're looking for in a game
I agree with you for the most part but at the same time when you compare both the time and the rosters as a whole, that has a lot to do with it as well. In a nutshell it's pretty much quantity over quality. Yeah Fighterz put a shit load of detail into EVERY character but that's because they dont have over 80 characters/variations to go through when creating the game. Yeah this DLC came out after the game was developed but look at how quickly they put out gogeta in Xenoverse compared to fighterz. I'm not saying Xenoverse developers should be/are putting in minimal effort nor am I saying it's better (because it damn sure isn't but that's my opinion) BUT I can easily understand why Xenoverse's characters (like gogeta) are lacking compared to fighterz. And some people are ok with that. Some people (not me) are more concerned with having every character in the existence of dragonball in one game but what they dont realize is for that to happen that will require a boat load of money for the budget and a loooooong time for development. Otherwise the gameplay and characters will suffer/suck in return. (Which is one of the many reasons why I think we get flooded with all these mediocre anime games before we get a decent one once every blue moon but that's another story) but yeah I'd prefer if the developers took their time with games like with fighterz but you know with some of these greedy money focused companies and some of these hungry demanding fans more times that not they'll rush to develop some shit to get people hyped for a moment, collect your money, and watch you complain as they count your cash developing another half assed experience.

this looks like a 1980's car vs a 2019 car comparison. Fighterz just looks so much more fast paced and the characters (especially gogeta blue) look like so much effort has been put into them.
Xenoverse did a good job at making Gogeta and Vegito look really cool and they have unique moves aswell. Blue Goku and Vegeta look bland. This is SSJ Blue and they don't make them look as powerful as the actual form. Kaioken was cool, but I wish there was more. Fighterz does all of that, but turns everything up to 1000. Fighterz wins this again.

DragonBall Fighter Z = Animated 3D.. it is like watching anime.. Xenoverse 2 = 3D but lacks of catchy animated movements.. But both are great because it is hard to make a game like these.
FighterZ is in a 2D, strictly monitored environment for 1v1 fighting with assists. Xenoverse 2 is in a wide-open area where up to anywhere from 6 to (depending on the mission) 10+ units can be on-screen at once, and the skills need to be applied to any skeleton for the CaCs. I don't understand why people are so opinionated on comparing the animations of the two when the attacks are designed for entirely different environments and situations, with entirely diffetent limitations and variables. I enjoy them both for different reasons.
@@Extermagon14 The gameplay is 2D and the 3D angles are fixed. There's no way to pan the camera around and view something from multiple angles, is what I mean, so they can warp and distort the animations to look their absolute best from one particular angle. FighterZ only ever needs to worry about how animations look from one (sometimes two) angles and can optimize from that angle, while Xenoverse 2 needs to make sure that animations look right from every angle.
If i had to choose bet ween Dragon Ball Fighter Z and Xenoverse 2, i would go with Fighter Z because it has a 2D animation style that makes the game look like a DBZ episode
Can't wait for FighterZ 2, whenever that may be. I have a bad feeling that Xenoverse 3 isn't going to be approached from the ground up and instead just be massive copy and paste, but a bit of a increase in performance and graphical fidelity.
I do hope they touch up on xenoverse 2 by making a 3. I personally adore xenoverse 2 for its customization levels such as CAC, pq's and AI that actually compliment you (or insult you haha), being able to have a master, and all the stuff related to that. It's a shame fighterz isn't like that but to be fair, they did say fighterz was intended to look more like the anime, while xenoverse 2 was going to be more like the anime.

All I'm saying is I enjoy all the colors and such but the animation are nothing more then camera angles and special effects combined with what we already are used to seeing from the show, character models with expressions and angst

I see real love in FighterZ by the developers.FigherZ is a quality Dragon Ball game only disappointed for less contents. The only character that I prefer in Xenoverse 2 is Goku Blue because the Kaioken and Kaioken x20 buff.
Comparing the gameplay is impossible, they're 2 completely different genres. The thing I want Xenoverse to do in the next title is more unique animations and more weight to supers. Arcsys understands the value of holding keyframes and using camera to really sell the weight of an impact. Xenoverse doesn't, yet. Also really disappointing when I got super saiyan blue in xenoverse and my character kept using the same basic attacks I've seen for the entire game.

I just wanted to point this out, The stardust fall Xenoverse uses is the SSJB Stardust Fall which is the smaller version used against Broly later on, the Big Stardust Fall y’all thinking about is the SSJ one and the only reason FighterZ has it is bc they wanted all his moves on one character, hence Big Bang Kamehameha being on him. No I’m not a Xenoverse fanboy I’m just saying.

FighterZ is in a 2D, strictly monitored environment for 1v1 fighting with assists. Xenoverse 2 is in a wide-open area where up to anywhere from 6 to (depending on the mission) 10+ units can be on-screen at once, and the skills need to be applied to any skeleton for the CaCs. I don't understand why people are so opinionated on comparing the animations of the two when the attacks are designed for entirely different environments and situations, with entirely diffetent limitations and variables.
I enjoy them both for different reasons.

The gameplay is 2D and the 3D angles are fixed. There's no way to pan the camera around and view something from multiple angles, is what I mean, so they can warp and distort the animations to look their absolute best from one particular angle. FighterZ only ever needs to worry about how animations look from one (sometimes two) angles and can optimize from that angle, while Xenoverse 2 needs to make sure that animations look right from every angle.

Can't wait for FighterZ 2, whenever that may be. I have a bad feeling that Xenoverse 3 isn't going to be approached from the ground up and instead just be massive copy and paste, but a bit of a increase in performance and graphical fidelity.
I do hope they touch up on xenoverse 2 by making a 3. I personally adore xenoverse 2 for its customization levels such as CAC, pq's and AI that actually compliment you (or insult you haha), being able to have a master, and all the stuff related to that. It's a shame fighterz isn't like that but to be fair, they did say fighterz was intended to look more like the anime, while xenoverse 2 was going to be more like the anime.

OK so while you can't really compare these games gameplay wise, because these games are very different and both of them have good and bad parts, but there is one thing I think everyone can agree on: FighterZ just looks a lot better than Xenoverse

@@jordand1222 with the same amount of attention to detail 3d games look just as well look at horizon. Flat art has more contrast and so more pop. All I'm saying is I enjoy all the colors and such but the animation are nothing more then camera angles and special effects combined with what we already are used to seeing from the show, character models with expressions and angst

I went to school for game design, only thing I learned is that there no such thing as too deep, we copy each other. If xeno copies dbfz you'll be right back here having this conversation, though I think classic is best I wonder what the other median had to offer with a few tweaks and upgrades for all my realistic engine game players.

I see real love in FighterZ by the developers.FigherZ is a quality Dragon Ball game only disappointed for less contents.
The only character that I prefer in Xenoverse 2 is Goku Blue because the Kaioken and Kaioken x20 buff.

Comparing the gameplay is impossible, they're 2 completely different genres. The thing I want Xenoverse to do in the next title is more unique animations and more weight to supers. Arcsys understands the value of holding keyframes and using camera to really sell the weight of an impact. Xenoverse doesn't, yet.
Also really disappointing when I got super saiyan blue in xenoverse and my character kept using the same basic attacks I've seen for the entire game.
