I love Chevy, but it's time something is done about auto makers! They put in all this tech, but can't fix it, So they let the consumer eat it while they get away with it! Time to change/ make some new laws!

Thank you for this video. I know it's been a few years for you but this very thing just happened to me (2018 Chevy 2500HD). What did you have to do to fix the issue and/or issues? Like you I'm stuck but was lucky to get the truck to a safe place.

My 2014 silverado did this to my while driving down the snow covered hill from my house, I couldn’t do anything but hit the brakes which were pretty much useless. Hit a pine tree at less than 10 mph and so far the estimate for repairs sits at $9,764. And they flat out don’t believe me about the steering thing.

This happened to me to try to program a key with an inexperienced technician, after reading in a post that unplugging the battery for 10min, the message disappeared. Be careful not to break the nut that tightens the battery pole (it happened to me)

From what I have seen pretty well documented problem. Also there is recalls on power steering assist. They just found a loop hole why they dont have to cover it even though this same thing is happening to many similar chevy/GMC vehicles. Good luck

one of series problem in Chevy truck new modules , I have Tahoe 2015 which i lost the steering on the road and thank god i was near to my home , I find that inside EPS motor so much water ,I dont know why they did not seal and make it protected from water . I have Land cruiser for 15 years and I never have like this problem . This device vey expensive . Is there any other way to seal it or protect so can work for long time ?

Now it’s fucking ip and shit locks up on me every now and then. pos Chevy man after this truck I’m never getting another one of these garbage ass trucks. I loved Chevy but man they don’t make em like they use too. Everything from the motor to water condensers to yadayada is all bullshit. @@dougie2fly511 yes. Even tho my comment sounded a bit harsh it took a bit digging to find out the issue. First I decided to clean all my grounds on my truck for they were a bit dirty. Next I went to inspect the ground going from the negative terminal to the engine block. Found out my steering issues were bc of the grounds. Some have to replace the negative cable entirely (65$) for they go bad for whatever reason and the issues go away. So far Havnt had it happen again. Dealerships will never tell you this stuff, so thank god for TH-cam.
