Good morning and thank you for the comment. This amplifier really defies it price point in so many ways! It just received an outstanding product award in the latest HiFi News! Cheers, Mark :)
@@EliteAudioUK Afternoon, and I will shortly be reading the HiFi News review too! I'm just very impressed that Rose HiFi, AGD Audio, T+A (via A200 and M200), Orchard Audio, Mytek, and others are embracing GaN Fet Class D technologies and topology. Hopefully these will trickle down further into budget affordable gear alongside current high-end and ultra-fi products! I'm sadly not in the market for such a product due to both room and budget constraints, but the RA280 is very aspirational, and certainly given me much to consider! Cheers for the awesome videos, certainly enjoy watching your thoughts on various gear 🎶🍻
Thank you for your great review! You were nitpicking about the size difference between the streamer and the amp. Let me nitpick about the remote: it would have been nice to include a black remote with the black amp. 😀
Good review, as always Mark but with respect you emphasised the issue of the input selection not able to be changed via the remote. However the design of the RA280 would not allow that unless the input selector had a motorised mechanisim to change the input, as it's by design a mechanical system. Also if there was an electronic option to change, the input selctor on the front panel would not show the chosen selection without the aforementioned motorised option.
Good morning and thank you for the feedback, it is appreciated. I agree, for me I like the chunky selector (I mentioned in the video that for some people this might be an issue - I have spoken to numerous peoplemover the years, who won't accept an amplifier where you cannot select the input from the remote)and motorising that, could change the aesthetic and also increase the price. :). Amyway, a little exercise won't do us any harm! ;) Cheers, Mark
I agree! Just discovered your channel recently. You rank up with my other favorite audiophile channels like, Audiophillac. Really enjoyed your review of this amplifier. I live in Colorado but will sign up for your newsletter.
How is Hi-Fi Rose supposed to include the ability to change the input on the remote and also have a nicely weighted, chunky input selector that clicks into place? They would have had to put a strong motor assembly inside to be able to remotely move that input selector. I'm not sure it's possible to have both. Nice review by the way. Thanks.
Good morning and thank you for the feedback :). I agree, for me it is a moot point and even if it were possible to have such a motor, I doubt the mech wojuld have such a satisfying click as it does now AND of course there would be a price penalty for its inclusion. I think HiFi Rose have done a stellar job with this amplifier! Cheers, Mark :)
I actually bought my Eversolo amplifer after watching your recent review. I did buy it in U.S. but, if I lived in England I would have bought it from you.
Very interested in these new breed of class d amps. I'm currently using a Naim 250DR power amp (last gen model) driving my Wharfdale Elysian 3 speakers and I'd be so interested to hear this amp in its place. The Naim is excellent, but I do miss the liquidity and 'cuddle factor' of previous class A designs I've used. I'm looking for something with more grunt which retains Naims timing signature, but adds a touch of the warmth and liquidity I miss, and these new Class D/A designs appear to be offering what I'm looking for. I was looking at the AGD designs, but dont quite have the deep pockets to try them - this could be a compromise! Thanks for your review, its very helpful!
Good morning and thank you for your comments. This definately has a sense of Class A warmth, but the real benefit of the amplifiers topology, is that your preferred sound can easily be 'dialed' in. I'm not sure where you are based, but we are offering a no risk 30-day money back guarantee on these if you are UK based. You can email me directly - mark@eliteaudiouk.com if I can help you any further. Cheers, Mark :)
Great review, and amazing to see new and extremely high-end Class D technologies working brilliantly and more accepted by the wider audio scene!

Hahaha.... a bit of nitpicking didn't do anyone any hard! Thanks for the comment, its appreciated. Cheers, Mark :)
The best review I've heard, respect from Greece!
Great review! This amp on my short list now. Great track music recommendations too.
Good morning and thank you for the feedback and comments. Its a truly outstanding amplifier and deserves to be on any shortlist. Cheers, Mark :)

Does it have balance control?

Who is the artist from dance macabre? 😊
Camille Saint-Seans?
Good afternoon, track (Album) details here:
Saint-Saëns: Danse Macabre; Phaéton; Havanaise etc.
Kyung Wha Chung • Royal Philharmonic Orchestra • Philharmonia Orchestra • Charles Dutoit
Composer: Camille Saint-Saëns
Cheers
Mark :)
You mention the limitations of remote. Is there a application for this amplifier to do more like changing imputs & treble & bass controls?
Built in dacs are not a feature but a future boat anchor.

Did you keep this for your system? How much power does it have for 4 ohms?
Video sounds lovely at 1.5X speed 👌🏼
ahem...... I think you'll find the sweet spot is actually 2.0X speed! 😉
😂
Excellent review, I really like this product, visually and technically! Hegel has big problems!
Good morning and thank you for the comment. Its a brilliant amplifier and Hegel should be VERY worried! ;) Cheers, Mark
Gothic looking amp
1yr warranty seems quite short for an item in this class.
