      102 km is the all time km odometer. Daily ride km would be shown in 3rd screen. But if they used the eco mode of Ola in Bumper to bumper traffic, it would have gotten more Kms and worked on inclines too and beaten the Ather. Changing modes is a Button press, it is not rocket science. So these Pro drivers should have tried it. Ola is the better option unless you are on a hill everyday at the end of your ride.

    Instead of investing in such failed marketing projects, Ather should invest the money in spreading the sales and service network throughout the country.
    I'm using the Ola S1 Pro (initially it was an Ola S1 Pro w/o Upgrade, getting reliable performance, I upgraded to Pro by paying the extra amount) for more than 8 months (scooter delivered on 1st March).
    Weighing about 83kgs, I'm easily getting 120kms+ range in Normal Mode per charge.
    I mostly use the scooter for daily commutation which is about 38kms covering both sides of the journey, 5 days a week. Other than this, my usage is 5-15kms. I can cover 3 working days on a single charge.
    On four occasions, I've achieved 140kms+ in a single charge in mostly Normal Mode (unless the forced Eco Mode on the last 15% of SoC left which I hate).
    (i) 145kms from 26/08/22 to 30/08/22 (5 days)
    (ii) 140kms from 08/09/22 to 12/09/22 (5 days)
    (iii) 140kms from 16/09/22 to 20/09/22 (5 days)
    (iv) 155kms from 18/10/22 to 21/10/22 (4 days)
    Till the last full discharge on 10/11/22, the scooter has traveled 7,044kms, consuming 218.4kWh of electricity in charging which yields a mileage of 32.253kms/kWh or 31.005Wh/km.
    So, learn from the "real owners" to get the "real-world range".

      Range may be higher but the riding and initial pick is not upto the mark

    • @santanu1097
      @santanu1097 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@treatseaweed You need to know the basic science of "pick-up".
      It is the acceleration (difference of speed at a certain time period) which picks you up and is governed by the torque produced by the engine/motor of any vehicle. If you want to achieve a speed from a standstill position, you need the maximum torque and it is called starting torque of a motor. To produce this starting torque, the motor draws a lot of power (5 to 10 times the rated power). This high demand of power draws a huge amount of current in a short period of time which ultimately puts a lot of stress on the batteries. If you feed the power in a restricted manner, the stress in the batteries will be lowered at cost of lower acceleration. In four riding modes of the Ola S1 Pro, this current feeding limit is different. All of these limits are controlled by the software (the Vehicle Controller Unit feeds this current limiting signals to the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Controller Unit manufactured by the Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Ltd.). Normal mode is enough to pull the vehicle and the Sports and Hyper mode is too aggressive, don't know which mode have you tried. But the Eco Mode is dull and I hate it. However, the company has listened to the owners and made some improvements regarding the torque in Eco mode in the beta software update. So, it is not the dead-end, the company can change this feeling of "pick-up" anytime in OTA updates.
      With the increase in speed (when you are riding, you always have some speed), the requirement of torque decreases, so, I don't know what you are talking about the "riding pick-up".
      Just imagine you are cycling, from standstill to achieve a speed, you need to press the pedal hard, after the cycle get some speed, you don't need to pedal that hard.
      It is also to be noted that, every model of Ather scooters use Two-stage of Torque multipliers. So, in search of higher torque, it sacrifices the speed.

    Even In bumper to bumper traffic you should have switch to eco mode of ola s1 pro but you still was using Normal mode.
    Ola s1 pro would have been clear winner if you have use modes properly and even if u use it in normal mode for single rider it can easily give u 120km min.

    Everyone said that ola had 15% left but it is useless because it locks in eco mode and don't offer any torque. Ather can change mode even to warp on 1% battery. So that is the difference 🙂

    • @dhruvverma2523
      @dhruvverma2523 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeahh you do you and fry up the battery, Ola at 15% conserve the charge as well as overall battery health for longevity, whereas Ather at 1% enables you to use warp mode and stress out the battery more. Bruu lack of Scooter intelligence is not a flexing point TBH. Ather will surely have a better pickup at low battery but don't you think low level of battery charge should not be played with extreme stress?

      @jaysuryabhagat8009 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I know you should not drop the charger so low but it is not everyday scenario. It was a range test. In everyday use you plan and ride accordingly. It's just that unexpected situations where you need all that last percentage to reach home or an ather grid where ather shines 😊.

    • @dhruvverma2523
      @dhruvverma2523 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaysuryabhagat8009 Disappointing. You still failed to understand the point. It is not about the low percentages. What I am trying to make you understand is at low charges, it is better for the battery to pump out less current to motors to sustain its longevity. If you stress the battery at low percentage with WARP mode than the battery will fry up. Hence Eco mode being the best option available to crawl back safely without harming the battery.
      Also you talk about Ather grid, the company is 5 years older than OLA, don't you think its a little bit arbitrary to compare a 5yo with an one year old?

    Ola is cheap and if you are living in flat terrain region with less hills, in city. Ola is very good. The money you spend in ather 1.75lakh you wont be getting it back after 3 years it will take more tine and at that time very good models will be available in the market. So what you spent now should return back in savings .you cannot sell this and get a value. Scooters will become like mobiles. We will buy one and after some years its throw away. Every electronic gadget in our home now is like that only. Buy with that in mind . In that sense for city use ola is a safe investment as the price is low and more scooters will pop in 1 lakh segment so your depreciation with s1 will be lesser than ather . I have an ola it had issues back in april but now they are resolved all those problems. We get 106km maximum for s1. Its saving us lot fuel expense. And my father is very happy with it. Even his office colleagues have ordered one. Hyper charger is coming in our city which ather is lacking now even after these many years. Literally everyone of ather users are unhappy with gen 3 . Just go through some local telegram groups to see the reality of all models in your city and buy.
