Also you earned my subscription to your channel just by being genuine and very well educated on what you are fixing or telling a story of...a breath of fresh air.
Man, I remember back in the summer of '83, I bought Jumpman on a C64 cassette and it took 20 minutes to load on the Datasette. Me and my friends used to drink a couple beers during the load time so by the time the game loaded, we were all relaxed enough to play well...LOL I used to have Jumpman tournaments in my parent's basement where we had 8 people all taking turns playing each other. Good times. And I still play Jumpman on my Odin2 even today. Impossible Mission is another great classic on the C64, as is Archon. I used to work at Commodore's ad agency back in 1987-88 and I eventually worked at Commodore in 1989 for a year before moving to California. Those were some crazy times! Thanks for bringing back some great memories. Watching your videos and seeing your love of tech reminds me of me when I was your age. Which was like 1980...LOL Anyway, keep up your videos as they are nicely done!
Nice selection ! C64 is definitely an iconic machine. It's fun to appreciate the hard work of programmers, artists etc from 40 or so years ago ! I haven't played all that many C64 games, but I quite like karate type games like International karate or way of the Exploding fist. I also like platformers like Lode Runner, Jumpman, and Wizard. Sports games like Summer Games, Winter Games are also fun. From speaking to other people - two players games that they played against their friends were some of the favourites like Pitstop II and Spy vs Spy.
4:42 That expression after being crushed by the boulder! :) This was very well narrated and I believe you planned to be crushed at this very moment, but the expression on your face is still priceless. :)
Nice to see some gaming :) I have been playing all my favourite C64 games I played during Xmas school holidays in the 80s for a few weeks, and writing some games in BASIC that are hopefully not too terrible.
Your love for the commodore 64 is awesome! I didn’t know there were so many cool games on that platform. Whether it’s doing repairs or playing a game, your genuine passion always shines through in everything you do. It’s one of the reasons why we all enjoy watching your videos!
I don't understand most of these games, but it's a joy to watch your face change between hundreds of different expressions while you are playing and talking 🤩😄
I'm glad to see more appreciation for the C64 nowadays. Love Martin Galway's music for the title screen of Arkanoid. Uridium is a classic side scrolling shoot 'em up for the C64, but I prefer Katakis, Forgotten Worlds, Salamander or the Thalamus ones like Armalyte. Defender of the Crown and The Last Ninja are games I usually revisit from time to time. The only Aliens game I'd ever played is the one by Electric Dreams Software.
Hi, Sayaka. Thank you for showing us some of your games. I love the video you made as it took me back to when I had a Commodore 64. Stay safe to you and your loved ones.🌹👍
ah Giana Sisters :D Still got my C64 fully packed in orignal boxes. Tapes en floppy's. Even with the black cardridge. You can load games in a few seconds. Love to see these games again. Can remember fixing the joysticks springs all the time :D
The music this beautiful computer could make was stunning. The music in Batman on the Commodore 64 was truly something special. Listen if you can especially Level 5 - Gotham City Cathedral 🤘
I only ever played one game on the C64 over 30 years ago but it still sticks in my mind as a great experience: Mars Saga. IIRC, it's an RPG with a very "Total Recall" feel.
Yes! I'm glad to see Lode Runner is in your list. I highly recommend using the keyboard. It may seem odd at first, but you will soon realize it's way more efficient than using a joystick. Also, while going up and down the ladders, pay attention to the enemy guys and see what certain positions make them do. Sometimes they will go away from you and you can stay there for a while until they go far enough way for you to do what you need to do.
You have excellent taste in C64 games! Many of my favorites in your list here as well! My brother and I grew up on the C64 :) Oh! Something you should try. Get a hold of a Sega Master System or Genesis controller. Then modify the second or third button to output the UP direction (also leave UP as is). That will allow you to use a button to jump, but also still press up to climb in games. It works great! Also, a Genesis pad works great with some Amiga games too, because it works with the second fire button supported in some games. ;) Oh, one last thing, find the game DROL. I think you might like it based on some of these other selections. :)
Yeah, there was an XBLA/PC game made many years later - Giana Sisters : Twisted Dreams - it's pretty solid tbh. People often overlook just how revolutionary and ambitious many of the games were during this era - especially when you consider the limited tech available. It's so cool to revisit these titles.
@@Sayakas_Digital_Attic One of them I think was called Impossible Mission. I really liked the Baseball game as well. Forgot the exact name. Possibly Star League Baseball.

Very helpful bunch review. I've had the C64 in my time, it was my pride and joy something that could run games like Bubble Bobble the same as in arcade machines. What I've always wondered back then and it was not until recent years that I've discovered, is if there was other software beyond games for the C64. Back then you were supposed to learn from BASIC which I cannot say I did despite managing to replicate and even adapt simple input programs. The stores I went to they all seemed to be games, games and more games.... small wonder most of us used the machine just for gaming. I think you should consider one day to show us what else the C64 can do and I wish I had done in my time.
