    recommendation: keep more than 3 dwarf puffers together. They are very social animals and tend to reduce a lot their aggression if numbers are above 3.

      100% agree. Outdated info will say they are ok on their own but more experience with captive husbandry and understanding to their wild habits has shown that they should really be treated similarly to barbs. i.e. a semi-aggressive yet shoaling species which should be maintained in the largest group possible, ideally no fewer than 6-10.

      That sounds awesome. I'd love to see it some how haha. I've always heard you can't keep anything with dwarf puffers since they attack everything. I have shrimp and endlers with mine though and never a problem. I always keep the tank stocked with snails for snacks though.

      I've had 2 puffers together with 8 silver mollies and a couple of gold gourami. The puffers nibbled on every other fish (including their buddy puffer), even though the gouramis were at least 10 times as big as the puffers.

    I have a 60L tank with 4 puffers and a whole army of shrimp +3 Zebra snails, they've been living toghetter for 2 years now without any compications what so ever! So don't hold back on the idear of using shrimp with puffers, shrimps are way to fast for them anyway and they multiply so fast that those puffer never would be able to make them go extinct in the tank. But this might probably not work for everybody though :D

    4:34 "this branch is going to obstruct the maintenance, so I am going to remove it" KUDOS to you good sir, too many tank builds I see are set up for pure aesthetic purposes with entire disregard for upkeep and maintenance, which leads and unmanageable and dirty tanks in the long run which in turn defeats the initial concern for beauty as it becomes ugly very rapidly if it cannot be maintained.

  • @thomasevans3387

    I keep dwarf puffers with numerous shrimp, and they do not bother, nor have I ever seen them even approach a shrimp. I have no doubt they eat small ones (as do all fish). I would not guarantee this will always be the case, but for those thinking about including them with shrimp you can try it, and if it fails transfer the puffers or shrimp. They did however literally eat every snail in my tank, so now I have to add snails to the tank. Even very large snails, which I assumed would be safe from them, eventually got hunted down and pulled apart.

    Hi, hello, I'm from China. Although China's aquarium industry is very developed, the quality is not very good, especially the aesthetics of the aquarium set is far behind. I really like watching your videos and learn a lot from them. I have been in contact with aquariums since 2016. ADA products are really good, but the price is too expensive, and the premium is serious. After watching your video, I learned how to build my own aquarium more reasonably. If only you guys could set up shop in China lol.

    Do you need some pruning shears(metszőolló) for triming the wood? Although, i'm thinking that, you probably prefer a rough break in the wood, instead of a clean cut.
    Puffers are one of my favourite fish! 🐡

      Yeah, I would just break the wood, I use bonsai concave cutters sometimes though. Quite expensive too. :)

    Can u make videos on led screen of aquarium and what exactly it is as from where we come we don’t have access to this things so a video might help more understanding in that and maybe help us get a diy solution for it

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the time, we do not use an LED screen, a simple white background would do the trick. These screens can be really pricy for big tanks. With that said, we do have some LED screens available commercially and they are cool, some can even do graduation in color. DIY solution is to get a regular white film from a hardware store - used for windows and glass - and apply that to the background.

    Awesome tank! What kind of filtration do you have in this tank? How often do you do water changes?

      I didn’t see a filter. That’s why I’m reading comments to find the answer.

    What was the algae eater? I couldn't quite make it out.
    As someone that is slowly piecing together a plan for a shallow counter top tank this was very helpful. Thanks

    the work was very beautiful. I love these puffers. what are you using to feed him? what parameters does the water need to have? congratulations again for the beautiful tank.

    • @GreenAquaShop

      We use frozen food, and some Green Aqua dry-food as well. Water parameters are the same like everywhere. TDS 120, 23-24 degrees, pH fluctuates with CO2 between 6.4-6.8-7?

      @@GreenAquaShop How can the 60-F be so free from algae without any snails and shrimp after 2-3 weeks? Looks amazing!
      TDS is at 120, what is the tap water from the beginning?
      Do you have any EC on the water as well?

    Are these puffers compatible with carpet plants like micro swords, hairgrass, monte carlo, etc? What about dwarf cichlids?

      Carpets, yes; Dwarf Cichlids, probably not.

    Love pea puffers...id agree with some others that they are unlike other puffers in that they do better in groups. My group has died off and i only have 1 left in a 60 gallon tank where he's housed with a male texas map turtle that doesnt eat fish as well as 10,000 snails...he feasts all day on snails...it takes me a while to find yim hes so small but whenever i do hes snatching snails off the dragon rock or plants...i want to buy some more...

    beautiful scape master! but i would have loved schooling white tetra's instead of puffers as purffers are hardly visible in this scape + tetras would enhance the look and feel of the scape and make it feel much bigger in size i feel.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Tetras would be too big for this tank, at least the regular ones. And I kinda agree with you that these fish blend in more, but I like them, and this is good for those who just like to sit and observe. I found that as time passes I learn to appreciate more and more the pale colors.
