One thing I love about this finale is that it wasn’t some big final battle, it wasn’t saving the universe, it was just finding the truth, and making better life decisions. Overcoming fear and living. Deciding to live. And I also love how Molly and Scratch lose connections on way more than good terms. Not that I wanted them to separate, just a realistic moving on, like amphibia. Separating hurts, but you got to live your life.
I do think scratch kinda started to remember at the end or maybe was just pretending not to remember for his new life. Either way its showing he is moving on too, not holding back

Honestly, it sucks that this show ended before the three season mark. But, at least they got the funds necessary to make a decent finale like this. I know one of the guys behind the show, Bill Motz, said it was great of them-to ones in charge- to do it for the show and the fans. Though, he said it's never the end, I believe. Even if it loses a third season now, it could still come back. Look at The Orville or Harley Quinn or Steven Universe Future or even X-Men '97. If we rally around this show, it could be brought back. Just have to have hope, be patient, and keep trying.
We actually saw his character as a background character in other episodes I figured this out when u found out the finale came out so I finished watching the last couple episodes of season 2 but i got kind of spoilt so i knew what he looked like as human and i saw him when daryll and the other magician were duelling human scratch appears

This finale REALLY captured just how hard it can be to face the prospect of not having a close friend or loved one anymore - either because they die, or because they have to move on to other things in life. We all have to be brave when it happens, because we never know how things will be afterwards 😢
Hey you guys want something to twist the knife in worse?: While Scratch was a wraith or while his soul was out of his body he had a better life dead than when he was alive. He did whatever he wanted, said whatever he wanted unabashedly, ate whatever he wanted, and did all of this whenever he wanted. He was unapologetically himself and didn’t care what anyone else thought. Ironically Scratch lived more dead than when he was alive
But before Molly came into his life, he was miserable. From what Scratch implied and what Molly understood, Scratch was isolating himself in the attic. Scratch was alone for years in that attic, constantly harassed by the ghost council and eating garbage. It wasn’t until the Mcgees moved in that Scratch’s quality of life drastically improved.
2:39 I like the detail of Scratch deciding to ring the doorbell and wait for Todd to come outside instead of just phasing through the wall and reprocessing him. It’s like he had a few more seconds of hesitation before truly deciding to go back to his normal life and having to forget Molly. Also I like how this ending is the complete opposite of something like Sonic X season 1 where instead of letting Sonic go, Chris decides to take Sonic for himself and spend a few more days with him before letting him go back to his own world.
I just realized something, when molly went back into her body after being a ghost, she never forgot her memories, so why would Scratch forget his? Unless.....HE DIDN'T! Think about it, before he left he called Molly "Moll" when she didn't even tell him his name, I think it was his way of letting her know that he still remembers her, but at the same time he knows he has to move on and reunite with Adia, but I guess they will always be....."a dream team for all eternity"😢❤
Molly became a wraith by passing through the ghost portal, but Scratch became one because he didn't feel like he was genuinely living. For Scratch, it's a state of mind.

He had all his memories of his afterlife but didn’t want to let them know because he knew it would be harder to leave them behind for the rest of his life traveling with his friend. He knows he will die before Molly and will see her again which is why he smiles after he gets on the bus
I think this sends a good messages to all of us especially kids, i don’t know if kids watch this show but, i think taking risk and living your life is worth it, i use to be so not afraid of the world but very closed off by people who have hurt me, and just shutting them out for no reason, and i had to learn to let people in my heart cause who wants to be alone forever in there lifetime, but i am glad i did open up to my friends and now we’re closer than ever. I think shunning yourself away from the world is not healthy and i have learn to take some risk like going to a new place where I’ve never been before and seeing a different world and perspective, seeing a couple of concerts with my family, i think it shows kids to NOT be afraid you know take a risk in your life, because if you don’t you might regret it.
What a great show It was pretty fitting to have ghost(especially Scratch) being the subject for most of the show. Ghost represents death and instills fear on others. The irony of Scratch, is his greatest fear of death, loss, and regrets.
Right here is where I totally lost it especially at the part where Scratch turns back to Molly and says if i don't remember you I'm sorry, the dream time you and me. Then Molly says for all entirely forever friend

They really nailed how hard it is to let someone go, be they someone who passed away or someone who’s ready to live a new life. It was just as difficult of a decision for Molly as it was for Scratch, and she could have fallen into the trap of playing it safe too.
I’ve cried to this scene and this entire episode… This series is so amazing… People aren’t putting this up high enough like with gravity falls. It’s an amazing and beautiful bittersweet ending I feel is up there with gravity falls, and every other show people praise. AAAAAUGH! Gotta re-Watch this again….

Just a theory to Brighton your day. All of those postcards in the end credits... If you REALLY think about it, who is Todd sending all of these to? From his memories, he doesn't talk about any significant family members. So who else would send those postcards to if not the McGee family? As a way for Molly and the family to keep tabs on him, and let them know how he's doing. And to let Molly know that he may have left, but she was far from forgotten
Man, this is exactly how I felt when I had to move to France from Florida back in 2020, felt like a literal heart stab. Scratch was me and Molly was and still is my best (and very first) friend, but with a tad different personality.
I feel like there should be at least a special about molly and scratch. This leaves the unanswered question of why scratch remembers what little of molly's impact she had on him.
No matter how you may feel about the show getting canceled and never getting that third season that was being developed, this was still a great finale. It didn’t develop all the characters to the fullest, but they accomplished what needed to be done and that’s what counts.

I thought that in an earlier episode that molly did the same thing as scratch, and when she returned to her body she rememberd everything, plus scratch said that he forgot his life living but he talks about it here like he remebers, so why would he forget?

What's fascinating about the human soul is that it never forgets who it loves. You see a lot of people with some form of memory loss forget their loved ones, but still feel that love and bond for them. It's so beautiful.
A Season 3 can be possible. Scratch and Molly are no longer together; however, season 3 can be Geoff or a new ghost as the title of the show is "THE GHOST and Molly McGee" and not "SCRATCH and Molly McGee".
No cause Scratch would still be a ghost in S3, maybe perhaps The End would've been a proper finale for the series in S3 but since it was cancelled during season 1, it had to be in season 2

Scratch really turned the balance of the afterlife and the life upside down, the Chairman maybe saw this and needed to do what he had to do return the balance of death and life.
It’s a interesting ending feels like an interesting and different ending to most Disney animated shows but also kind of doesn’t feel like an ending there’s bit still up in the area (granted amphibia, star and owl house also all end with unresolved story beats so maybe that’s just what Disney want)

I feel what made his ghost life good is kit doing whatever he wanted but building relationships, going on adventures, etc.

After watching this, there might even be a prequel television film from Disney Channel Original Movie and Disney+ Originals called The Ghost and Molly McGee Movie: Scratch's Origins (see the playlist about this show on my channel) unearthing Todd 'Scratch' Mortenson's life before meeting Adia Williams for the first time, his wraith ghost years, his time with Molly and eventually reunite with Scratch as a human on some special date. A Season 3 can be possible. Scratch and Molly are no longer together; however, season 3 can be Geoff or a new ghost as the title of the show is "THE GHOST and Molly McGee" and not "SCRATCH and Molly McGee".
No cause Scratch would still be a ghost in S3, maybe perhaps The End would've been a proper finale for the series in S3 but since it was cancelled during season 1, it had to be in season 2
How so? Scratch was the ghost portion of show. It wouldn't make any sense. Plus how can you call it the ghost and Molly Mcgee without a ghost? That title just wouldn't fit season 3
And also why does everyone want a third season so badly? It not like it had very ratings and especially with the second launch fail on Disney+ and with the third launch being a successful attempt

It’s a interesting ending feels like an interesting and different ending to most Disney animated shows but also kind of doesn’t feel like an ending there’s bit still up in the area (granted amphibia, star and owl house also all end with unresolved story beats so maybe that’s just what Disney want)
