Maybe you can finish just this square in pandemic and ffo it. It will be a bitter sweet memento of the fail. Btw, I think it’s beautiful, if you still hate it after a while, you can use it in a smalls exchange or smth like that later
Yup, also have a project I loooove working on, but it’s giant, so always gets pushed back in favor of small and faster stitches. I already decided that I will stitch it next year as a focus stitch, a page each month. And it has over 26 pages, so might take me several years to finish even if I mostly stick to the plan😂

Hello!! I am such a fan of your channel, but I’m totally new to cross-stitching. I’m more of a quilter. Anyhoo, I started with 14 ct Aida in the hoop. I would love to to try and work on some of the more beautiful fabrics you mention with your blue foot booby. ❤❤ I love your corky style and all your patterns and things you work on.
Any advice on what fabric and thread I should try next? Like I said, only been using 14 ct aida and DMC. Do you have tutorials on stitching on hand? Total newbie here. Thank you so much for any tips.

Looking forward to the Jingle Ball - I think December will be here before I turn around. Please stitch what you love and don’t give yourself a bad time because of the BAPtoschool Pandemic stitch. You showed us lots of beautiful stitching. I plan to start the same Blue Flower pattern that we got at the PNW SS as my New Years start. I am happy you have good memories of the PNW SS. That fractur bird has a great graphic quality. He reminds me of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

I’m so thankful for all the work you put into your videos. I just found you so I am splurging! Hahah and the Jingle Ball. Thank you, I hope from the bottom of my heart I find a stitchy friend. I am all alone in my hometown. No stitch shop in sight. Maybe I need to do more research and make a road trip, but I’m afraid I’ll get the welcome I received in my local quilt shop.

Re: Pandemic - I feel your angst and pain - I do! I had a large piece by William Morris that I wanted to do so badly. Kitted it up, got going on it - and realized it was full coverage. This was before I had a clue what that was. Trying to figure out what to do with all those threads - not to mention parking. Parking had never been something I associated with threads and needles... anyhoo. I cut off the (very) little that I had stitched, put the threads back in their box and tossed the pattern and immediately the clouds lifted, the sun came out and the birds have never stopped singing....speaking of birds - a BLUE turkey --what a stunner.
Halloween Square Dance looks great in that frame. I think Pandemic looks beautiful, but I’m not the one stitching it 😂
I can completely sympathize with your mindspace on the BAP. I would have to do monochrome or one giant skein of variegated.
I know what you mean about the Northwestern US. I was born and raised in Portland Oregon. I transplanted to Texas many years ago but the memories of its beauty are etched in my mind and I can never forget it. Happy Stitching 🪡🧵😊
I love your videos. You make me laugh. As well as cross stitching I also quilt. When you were talking about the trouble you had in picking out colours to stitch next I had to laugh because I can not do a scrappy quilts. I get bogged down in what colour or fabric to put next and I end up hating the quilt and folding it up and sticking it in a bin, thinking I will get around to it someday, knowing I never will.
I would be totally overwhelmed by the Pandemic piece. 😵💫
I don't hate your long dog. I think it is awesome. Just keep going and it will fit in. Long Dog samplers are amazing. Please keep going.Ask the universe if it will be OK. If you can't finish this , give it to someone else to finish.
I love your Pandemic and am sorry you don't. When you showed all the colors, I didn't think I'd like it but seeing your stitches changed my mind. But I too would struggle with what color to use next and spend WAAAY too much time overthinking each one so I get why you don't want to go on. Save it - maybe someday it will be just the right thing for you to pick. Just not now.

I'm doing my first Long Dog too. I chose colors I like, then told myself: all the animals will be this color, all the flowers will be that color, etc. Or I would have been paralyzed by indecision as I went along too. And I'm counting on it all looking good in the end!
Not sure, but I think I have the grand daughter during the Jingle Ball. No matter what I will buy a ticket and at least get a chance to shop. She is going through a Gram hold me while I sleep phase so I don't get to do much when she's here except Atty time LOL.
I purchased the Jingle Ball Book last year but it was a PDF - I like the book❤ The classes all look fantastic and I agree I need to decide which ones I really want to take. Love all of your turkeys and I never knew there was a blue one either. I feel bad you do not like your sampler - it is really pretty. I have to say I am not sure if I could change a one color piece to multi colors too. I really need to start on of the patterns that I purchased from Carol Manning as I love the full coverage patterns that she designs. Wow your Plum Street Pattern is going to be beautiful. I own Halloween Square Dance and I need get stitching after seeing your finish.

Since you are so in love with birds, I have a friend in Gettysburg,PA that raises peacock s, in many colors. You could get true colors and history/education on peacocks.
Peacocks are so beautiful and there are several varieties, I recently learned ! At Leeds Castle in England, they have an aviary, and when I visited, besides roaming the grounds (and waltzing into the cafe!), they had a gorgeous white one.
I love the Halloween Square dance. I don't cross stitch, but quilt and embroider. We are the same age and it's so wonderful to see what other women my age do and say. I very much enjoy your sense of humor. Keep on stitching!

I've been planning on starting the Air Mail series, but have now officially made up my mind to start with the Ocellated Turkey, and the Violate-Green Swallow, well so much for my buying freeze. I’m so happy that I found you last year as a result of The Jingle Ball! I love that you are so real. I failed at my MFE 2023 SAL but it’s all good…just moving on to stitch things I enjoy. I haven’t started my BAP yet…had trouble getting just the right fabric. I’m looking forward to stitching the two Airmail birds I just purchased today! Great patterns.
