Currently delving into documentation to start attempting realistic flights soon!
Thank you, Captain, for that very interesting video. Your appraisal was very fair and impartial. I do hope that the developers take heed of what you said.
There seems to be a growing and disturbing trend of developers releasing products that really should be beta or even alpha versions, or selling addons as "early access" but at full price, relying on customer's trust that they will eventually fix bugs and add features (but that doesn't always happen sadly). I think as a community we need to push back on this by keeping our wallets in our pockets until the products are ready to go, or until they release early access products at a suitable discount so that we can be their beta testers for them.
The autopilot not following the flight director is horrific. If I was programming a basic auto pilot my code would be 'follow flight director with short delay', so even if the flight director logic was messed up, you would expect the autopilot to follow the messed up logic, not whatever this was. To a new user, this would be detrimental, as they would have no idea what is going on. Let alone the modes not working properly, so they really don't know. VNAV may not even be necessary to a new user (just use OP/Desc or FLCH in Boeing), but if it was advertised, then it should work as intended.
For new simmers. If you want a Airbus, go for FBW or Headwind, which provides A320Neo and A330Neo. Trust me, these two flies better even though it is freeware and a bit deeper in simulation. Why? Because they have AUTOMATION!

Hi Emanuel if the 777 is ready and the features are well worth the wait how come these additional features. Push the release up to July? Seems too much right?
Hi, if you ask for my personal opinion: I think this is a direct consequence of all the haters out on the internet. So many people complaining how shitty PMDG products would be because of the 737 release which added some features at a later stage. Those same people usually also hyped the Fenix so much, even though they did the very same thing (think IAE, or sharklets which we still don't have two years later). They probably want to make sure not to give the haters any fuel for their fires anymore with this release. Just my personal 2ct of course...
@@yfig7020 To a certain extend yes, but I can assure you that it's not bugs that are holding the plane up. Sure enough it has some right now, but it's mostly new features being added while a bit of bugfixing is going on next to it. The stuff that's there (most of the plane really) works pretty well by now.
already in the cover of the video you can only see the contrail of engines 2 and 3, while the 1 and 4 do nothing.. this shows how it is practically all a derivative of Asobo's a320neo.. Anyway, excellent video as always, I love seeing your reviews and I hope they will seriously improve it because that team has excellent potential
If I can make a suggestion, Emi... When reviewing aircraft, maybe upload 2 separate videos. The first one would be one like this, where you do a full A to B flight. This gives the audience a comprehensive look at the aircraft. The second would be the "review", which would be a 10-15 minute summary of all the key points from the full flight video. Think of it like a video game review - they are generally quite concise and cover all the main points which a potential buyer would want to know. For people who want to know even more, they can watch playthrough videos which are much longer. I almost decided not to watch this review because of how long it was, but then I decided I'll watch it anyway but just skip to the end, in the hope that you would have a nice summary (which fortunately you did, but I only found the timestamp when reading through the comments). Had this video been 15 minutes instead of 1 hour and 44 minutes, I think the view count would be much higher. Just my 2 cents.
Thank you for this video. I am probably not going to be getting the A340 (if I had and extra set of the Thrustmast contols I might, as a South African getting an A340 would be very cool). But, I enjoy your videos anyway, because of the extra comments you provide and what things are, and how they work. I am curious, if you cannot access the CBs, how would you pull the CVR, if required?
If you change your mind at some point, be aware that you can assign multiple engines (2,3 or even 4) to a single thrust lever. So for the 747 I have two levers each controlling 2 engines.
Yeah, glad to see that there is finally an A340 for MSFS but it does not do the job. When i bought their A318 i was happy at first but then (even though they had updated it etc), it got bad. The HS mod however fixed it completely. As for the modelling i think they could also improve on the font for the screens and to me, the cockpit side window looks too big, kind of like the PMP A330. Very interesting but disappointing in some places. Great video though
Oh dear...that dual contrail in the thumbnail already had me scratching my chin...😅 LVFR do some beautiful visual models for sure, wing flex, wobbling engines, and the aircraft sound is great. Except for all the missing CRCs of course! It's a pity that so many things are not simulated, but oh well. Their A330 which is stil a bit bare, seems to have already improved a little.
I kind of disagree about what an average entrly-level simmer needs. I do believe it should be a really good freeware aircraft like FBW A320, Zibo 737 or even payware like PMDG / Fenix. Otherwise, with something of a lower quality (like this LVFR A340 or the Embraers) the newbie simmer will just struggle to understand whether it's him doing something wrong or it's the aircraft model messing up, he would simply have not enough experience for that, which might cause disappointment, learning wrong things or even abandoning the beautiful world of flight simming. It does not have to simulate super deeply (like faults), but at least the basics must be almost perfect.
Fair play for giving us a review of this aircraft Emanuel. It looks just like I expect a LVFR aircraft to behave, awful. How people pay $30 for this is mindboggling. LVFR are just as bad as Captain sim.
Personally I think it’s just a big money grab so I don’t support it. I would rather them make good quality aircraft’s and have less available see they’ve got out an a320,@318,@319,@321,@330,@340 in not even a year. It’s just completely for money.

@@Janet_Airlines802 I totally agree with you. For the price they call, they at least should try to get a decent flight model, engine model and fuel consumption done. To fly something and get mid air no fuel to the destination. This is just another crap

Yeah this thing is rubbish. I’m glad I didn’t waste my time with this one. My entry level plane back in the mid 2000’s was the PMDG 736 and this was way before any decent YT tutorials existed. I think jumping into the deep end is far more beneficial than learning on something like this especially with the amount of online tutorials available today.
The only good looking Airbus. I hope it will be polished and then I am happy to pull the trigger. We do not only need hi-fi planes like Fenix, there are plenty of casual simmers who want casual planes.
I personally only have so much time to fly and when I do, I want the experience to be very realistic and fulfilling, not half-assed and hobbled together like many of the add-ons for MSFS nowadays. The whole "casual simmer" thing makes no sense to me. You can easily load up the Fenix A320 and be flying in 5 minutes using the EFB shortcuts. We need less of these mediocre add-ons and more developers aspiring to be at the level of what Fenix, Black Square, and A2A have achieved. Casual should not mean garbage. It's just an excuse for lazy developers.
@@robbyyant6213 the problem is not the devs but asobo for providing shitty SDK. Sure if they have a stable base to work with, maybe devs are more inclined to spend more time on working their project.
Your "NEW to Flight Simulation? Do yourself a FAVOUR and get a GOOD aircraft to LEARN" (th-cam.com/video/ThNnZOxbl4Q/w-d-xo.html) comes to mind. If I was a beginner I'd be very confused about the autopilot bugs / glitches / (half) implemented features. Replace "what's it doing now?" with "it is supposed to do that?" and I think that's where beginners will be. I don't think people need a full blown "study level" aircraft learn with every system implemented also allowing for uncommon failures. But for an entry level aircraft what's there should work well with standard operations.
Alright Emi... and now please redo the video with the attitude of your FSS E-Jet videos. I want to hear you cursing and screaming about this waste of space on your hard disk!
Quite simple: If they re-market their products I will gladly do that. I rate the aircraft according to their marketing. Write lots of bs on your productpages and I’ll rate your products against that, be honest and open about what you do and don’t and I’ll likewise rate it accordingly.
@@A330Driver Well they said it would be beginner-friendly and can fly from A to B. You said it yourself in your video many times that none of this is even remotely true. That‘s just as much wrong marketing as FSS did. The feeling is that you did not want to offend LatinVFR (as you did with FSS, rightly so), maybe because they gave you this version for free, because you usually are much more aggressive for BS like the autopilot not even being able to do a level change climb. I’m just feedbacking my disappointment, I was totally expecting you to go total rage over this product :) Also please keep in mind the price: This is not cheap.
@@raphaelmuh621 The difference between the two is that one (FSS) released knowingly and intentionally lying about the products status, trying to fool people into buying the product by deceiving them about the products state. The other (LatinVFR) is known to release entry level products and advertise them as such. Yet they too seem to have messed up big time with this release. Whatever caused it, I don't think it was intentional. They give me no reason to believe so. FSS without any doubt MUST have known their products state. LVFR perhabs not. Might blame that on bad testing or whatever, but not bad intentions of fooling the customer. But it seems more of an honest mistake in their case and not intentionally deceiving customers as FSS did. And that is the part where I make the difference between the two. One had a bad intent, the other just bad testing/you-name-it.
I feel sorry for the Xbox simmer's getting this sort of trash. How are they supposed to learn how to fly it well enough to get from A to B, where clearly this junk cannot even fly a plan. 4yrs down the line, and i thought we had seen the last of this stuff but sadly not!
Not sure what all the hate is for this aircraft. Im an airliner simmer, with some real world flight time, and while I prefer “study level” aircraft….well, this one is okay. Im an airbus fan to begin with, love airliners, and Im fine with “collecting” them as they are released. Fun to jump in occasionally, and more than sufficient for many casual simmers. We have options….its a good thing for simming. Of course there arent more high fidelity aircraft, as it takes YEARS to produce. But we have PMDG 737-600, 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, Fenix a320, ATR 42, ATR 72, iniBuilds a300, and then a whole other lineup of aircraft that I would place in close second line, including CRJ 550-1000, Headwinds a330, 787-8, 787-9, 787-10, e-jet lineup from just flight, as well as the BAe 146, and still more. Really need fenix to get on and produce their a330 long hauler
A Fenix A330 would be so incredibly amazing!
@@A330Driver it's the only logical next step after the A320 series
So, this is for VFR hand flying only. 😁
Thanks for this review
Emi how do you ever have a chance to fly the real thing? You have been going crazy with the uploads here lately.......And we're better for it! Thank you!
Have wondered that too. I would be sick of aircraft at his pace 😂
haha, I actually flew 89 hours last month and already 50 hours this month with another trip coming up on the weekend.
@@A330Driver My Dad was a police detective and he never switched off either - holiday time, even retirement time he still was always alert to crime around him. In English I would say you are "On a busman's holiday" or should that be an Airbusman's holiday!
What is crazy is that this plane is 3/4 of the price of the FENIX, which seems like a real money grab from this perspective...
Hi Emanuel, how do you move so smoothly with the camera around the plane on the ground?
Is it a mod ?
Hi, it’s the drone cam. Search my channel for „walkaound“, I did a dedicated video on how I do these and which settings I use.
@@A330Driver thx. Btw, are you from germany?
@@SimoneEhmann-u9e Isn´t that pretty obvious? The energy, comittment, preciseness and attention to detail can only be accomplished by a German 🇩🇪 Our most entustiastic fligtsimmer on TH-cam 👍🏻
@@A330Driver but more futures mean higher potential of bugs right? which leads to longer beta time
@@yfig7020 To a certain extend yes, but I can assure you that it's not bugs that are holding the plane up. Sure enough it has some right now, but it's mostly new features being added while a bit of bugfixing is going on next to it. The stuff that's there (most of the plane really) works pretty well by now.
@@A330Driver I hope to see it at least in June following what I hear from Robert it seems ready from a long time ago
already in the cover of the video you can only see the contrail of engines 2 and 3, while the 1 and 4 do nothing.. this shows how it is practically all a derivative of Asobo's a320neo.. Anyway, excellent video as always, I love seeing your reviews and I hope they will seriously improve it because that team has excellent potential
You actually see fuel jettison at low level, so two trails are correct.
@@A330Driver woww really? never seen, thank you! ❣️ I've learnt something new
If I can make a suggestion, Emi...
@@richardsuttill54 yeah. I would probably do 12 and 34
Go to X-Plane 12. Excellent A340-600 there by Toliss.
Has anyone worked out how to calibrate the throttles?
Oh dear...that dual contrail in the thumbnail already had me scratching my chin...😅 LVFR do some beautiful visual models for sure, wing flex, wobbling engines, and the aircraft sound is great. Except for all the missing CRCs of course! It's a pity that so many things are not simulated, but oh well. Their A330 which is stil a bit bare, seems to have already improved a little.
It’s not a contrail, it’s fuel dumping 😅
And the 340 actually has just two nozzles, one per wing.
@@A330Driver Oh dang it, that'll teach me for making such assumptions!
they should have give us the huge A340-600
Did you ever do an LVFR A330neo review?
Yes I did. Quite a positive one actually: th-cam.com/video/WTGOM2tMK50/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CKUBKVr1L6MtPgIk
This could be a great addon if they sort out the problems you highlighted. Thanks for such in-depth reviews - love your videos.
I bought the 330 and it was a terrible mistake, definitely skipping this one.
I would absolutely love a 340 or 380
I'm sure you'll love the FBW A380 when it finally comes! I really liked its previews at FSWeekend!
Lol. You did a review and they put out an update at the same time.
You can hear Emanuel frustration during FMS programing... Don't buy this guy's
says a lot about latinvfr that I was more excited when this video dropped than their aircraft 💀
What an absolute shit show!! From start to finish! No way is this a releasable product, never mind a chargeable one!! 😡
I can’t believe they are actually charging money for this…
Might not be study level but hey at least we have an a340 now better than nothing
Fair play for giving us a review of this aircraft Emanuel. It looks just like I expect a LVFR aircraft to behave, awful. How people pay $30 for this is mindboggling. LVFR are just as bad as Captain sim.
Another quickly created "toy" aircraft. Save your money!
Not everyone wants study level. I love my PMDG, but I also love this a340. It’s been fun to fly.
@@Janet_Airlines802 ты прав, но не за эти деньги. сейчас это грабеж и мошенничество, даже баги на самом видном месте не исправлены
Personally I think it’s just a big money grab so I don’t support it. I would rather them make good quality aircraft’s and have less available see they’ve got out an a320,@318,@319,@321,@330,@340 in not even a year. It’s just completely for money.
@jimmytwotimes802 I'm sorry dude we gotta stop supporting these projects that's what default aircraft are for. This flight simulator in particular is too saturated with "toy" projects!!
@@Janet_Airlines802 I totally agree with you. For the price they call, they at least should try to get a decent flight model, engine model and fuel consumption done. To fly something and get mid air no fuel to the destination. This is just another crap
I believe what they call QNH in the EFB is actually QNE.
Seems like it, indeed.
14:21 hmmmmmm 👀
I’m scared to watch this 😂, my ToLiss A340 is giving me an evil look 😢
hahaha, tell me what you think about it in the end!
@@A330Driver I watched up to the decent then made cup of tea 😬 nothing personal but you could see what it was by then. Tbf you gave it every chance but I agree the VNAV part doesn’t work and needs fixing or removing from the advert. Every time I watch these type of products my brain breaks as I always end up with just fly the FBW320 it’s amazing and free. Thx for trying gives me excuse try out XP12.1 beta with A340 will bring back great memories.
Ladies and gentlemen, X Plane 12.1 is out as a beta.
@@robbyyant6213exactly
@@robbyyant6213 the problem is not the devs but asobo for providing shitty SDK. Sure if they have a stable base to work with, maybe devs are more inclined to spend more time on working their project.
It's a poor exterior model. I mean to not even model the landing lights is pretty poor. Arcade toy at best. Poor by latinvfr
I never thought you did review this shit, I lost a myth. ahhahahaha
Spätestens nach der Landung sollte jedem klar sein, dass das Ding nix is
Alright Emi... and now please redo the video with the attitude of your FSS E-Jet videos.
@@A330Driver Fair enough, I understand your reasoning. Off topic: You're based at EDDF now, right? "Discovering" different places in your new job? ;)
Best plane of LVFR is A340-300 !! Another plane mods are TRASH !
I feel sorry for the Xbox simmer's getting this sort of trash. How are they supposed to learn how to fly it well enough to get from A to B, where clearly this junk cannot even fly a plan. 4yrs down the line, and i thought we had seen the last of this stuff but sadly not!

Gross, no thank you. This is something I probrablhy would have purchased when I was new 15 years ago in FSX.
Haha what junk!
Seems we have a lot of options, and still more on the horizon right now. MD-11, 777, and again more.
