ANYONE who has the intelligence to recognize and respect a TRUE ARTIST, that writes about life the good and the bad the ups and downs, and is Independent!... Who is SO BRAVE, She will speak, and WRITE, about parts of her life, that "Mega-stars" like Mick Jagger NEVER would!... YES, I've loved you since BEFORE "Voices Carry" was Big!... But I WILL admit... I've got a good enough ear to know the FIRST time I heard that song, I said this song is going to be BIG!.. Michael, strummin' my guitar since I was 15!
Yes - Aimee Mann is one of the best songwriters. And I feel sorry for anyone who is only capable of judging an artist by their level of commercial "success" as one commenter here ridiculously tried to do. Aimee is so loveable. Her music is so wonderful, too.

Aimee Mann’s problem is that she is too smart and probably thinks too much. Which is also what makes her great. It’s funny cause I became a fan of hers through Bachelor No. 2., actually, by way of Magnolia I guess. That was 20 years ago. Love that album. I been on a big 80s kick and A couple months ago I got into Til Tuesday. I never listened to them before and knew none of their stuff. My jaw literally hit the floor. It sort of blew my mind and I’m still processing it. Voices Carry is like Satisfaction or something. It’s a monster record. Welcome Home is like a perfect album too. Not sure why she buried her 80s stuff but it’s brilliant - and timely again too!
Same here! I mean about getting into 'Til Tuesday a bit late, but how great to discover such music, right?! And 80s music could really be awesome. Love that sound. And you're so right to say "or something" about 'Voices Carry' because that song has a certain something that, who knows exactly what it is, but as a song it's so satisfying, & it's 'wow.'
