I used the BRNR as my driver when I went down to Nevada in December. Owing to our short golf season in Calgary, I did not hit a ball since mid-October. My goal was to focus on finding fairways off the tee. The BRNR was unbelievable- it was a gas to always have my second shot off the fairway, with only a minimal loss in distance vs. my usual driver (TSR3). I used the stock shaft which performed well, but plan on getting a proper fitting done.
Picked mine up yesterday and already love it. Lefty 11.5* and plan to use as a driver replacement. Threw my 3-wood shaft in it and plan to leave 3W and D at home for the foreseeable future. 5W already in the bag had 3W collecting dust, and got fed up with D misbehaving. Can easily set this up to match driver distance while much easier to hit and autopilot-like dispersion
I have a BRNR Mini and I have it slotted in as a true two-wood. Driver, 2W, 5W, 22* Hybrid makes up the top of my bag and I would be lost without my mini. Every time I need to find a fairway, or if I need to make up some ground on a par 5 after putting myself out of position. Way more versatile than people give it credit for I think.
I'm a driver off the deck guy when I really need to crank but have a 13 deg Tour Edge Exotics 3 wood with a Fubuki shaft that is like a hot bullet & then a high flight Tour Edge 4 wood with an Accra shaft for less distance but soft landings on greens. I have different 7 woods that I rotate just for fun & can tone them down like a 4 iron or step on them like a 3. I'm very accurate with my driver so don't need anything off the tee more forgiving. Not a big hitter but carry 230 on the nose & 240 when I lay into a power fade. Problem is with the mini is you can only carry 14 clubs so what I'd have to drop would be more important than putting one in my bag. Paid a total of $80 total for my Tour Edge's. Still the best deal in used fairway woods.

My 13.5 showed up yesterday - super excited to get it dialed in. I struggle with dispersion (distance is not the issue) so I "think" this could be a weapon for me.
I’ve been playing the brnr for almost a year now. I can safely say this is really the only Taylor Made club I have a real interest in and think it’s the best product they make. Use it place of a 3 wood, off a tee and off the deck. I go Dr, mini, 5w, 22*hybrid. Really a great addition to my bag.
Still have the OG Driver with the original Ti bubble 2 shaft, the blades that Ernie and Retief rocked (I have the with the original Rifle's too), including a 2 Iron that is so thin and sharp, it's outright impossible to launch it unless you have 115+ clubhead speed. Really a trip down memory lane whenever i see them in the storage. I still have the original humongous staffbag in leather as well. Almost to large to put in a car.
Most amateur and weekend golfers should game this club. Yes, nice to hit the odd bombs with big dog and feel that they are missing out if they don’t, but it’s fairway finder all the time for me and only 10-20 yards in it. Work on the other parts such an around the green a putting. Drive for show putt for dough 😊
I swapped out my 3 wood for a BRNR mini @ 11.5, and I love it! It’s just straight, it’s my fairway finder on tighter holes or when the driver acts stupid. My 3H I hit great off the deck so I had no purpose for a 3W, use this as a tee only club and it’s made a huge difference in my game.
I bought the OG Original One when I was struggling with driver a little while back and love mine. Have a G430 Max in the bag now so it doesn't get the workout it used to but still roasting it off the tee on shorter par 4's and off the deck into longer par 5's so absolutely no need for a 3 wood anymore either.
I still have a Bubble Shaft Burner Driver at 9 degree. Been in the bag for 25 years. I absolutely love the club. The look & feel of it is amazing, not too mention the sound it makes. Thankfully they brought it back!! Won an R5 460cc in a tournament 20 years ago, hit it three rounds and put the cover back and it sits in the corner of the room. Too large for my taste. I remember when woods were actually wood, and were the size of a clenched fist, lol. I learned on a small driver, and would love one of these tuned down to 9.5 degree.
@@chrism8013haha no that's not what I meant. I've been trying to describe the exact same thing as you for weeks untill i found a video with the new replica. My bad. I couldn't remember if my old club was the original bubble or the TI titanium one...
For some reason, I have a hard time hitting a 3 wood past my 5 wood. I have a 13.5 “Original One” mini-driver which solved the problem! It slots in right between my driver and 5 wood and I can hit it off the deck with no problem.
Exact same for me! 3 wood was always same ball speed and carry as my Utility Wood. The BRNR that came out last year solved that for me. Now I have a 2nd club off the tee if driver is too much for the hole, not having to drop down to 4 iron, and I can hit it off the deck better than 3 wood and farther than utility wood. Win-win!
I have had the previous Brnr in my bag now for about 3 months, 13.5 turned down one click. It is an ABSOLUTE weapon. Goes 280 and can push 300 but it’s just the ultimate fairway finder. Ventus 7x TR and it’s never coming out of my bag
I have the 300 mini (13.5) that I sometimes throw in the bag, but might look at grabbing one of these to replace it. I love the look, not sure if I will go with he 11.5 or the 13.5 with this one.
I'd like to see you get Ronnie in there to test the Mini Driver off the tee AND Off The Ground, maybe install a high launch shaft and, if needed, fiddle with the loft. Is this weapon suitable for lower swing speed players?
The 11.5 turned down to 9.5 is lethal. I tried that combo from the previous Taylormade offering and it was so much fun to swing out of your shoes and still find the fairway around the 290 yard mark.

I have a 13.5* and it’s a monster. I have it 43.25” and 2 clicks lower, heavier weight in rear so distance wise about as short as possible and I can still fly it within 20y of my driver. It’s perfect for stock burner cuts off low tee or can tee it up a little bit and hit it high and turn it over. Doing that gets it close to the driver even with is being set up as short of possible for distance.
I love this club. I have last year’s model and it’s actually replaced my driver. I understand that effectively the BRNR is a 2 wood and won’t go as far as driver, but I find way more fairways with this than I ever did with the driver. Golf is hard enough as it is, this makes it that little bit easier. “Little bit”… golf is still hard haha.
Good review on this mini driver, but i'm curious as to why you didn't compare it to last year's Brnr mini driver since they're so similar. maybe you're saving that for another video?
I tested one of these a while back and swung it faster (115+) than any driver on the market. Cranked down to 9.5⁰ I was hitting it well over 300 yards consistently and easily. I grew up playing smaller headed wooden drivers and find these smaller headed easier to swing fast.
Been playing 8 clubs all this year. BRNR makes that much more doable and it's so consistent (something I never got from the past minis). Not spending $450 for a cosmetic upgrade, but it is a solid club
I hope TM does a better job with construction of the face! I've been playing the BRNR less than a year and have cracked the face on two of them in the last two weeks. Currently I'm waiting to get a replacement driver for the second time in a month. Oh and I don't have a crazy high clubhead speed, my avg is 96-100mph and probably lower the more I hit it. RIP BRNR
I struggle hitting a driver i can crank my driver 300 total yards on a good hit but finding fairways is hard for me so started hitting 3 wood off the tee box just to save some strokes from going out of bounds and to find fairways so ordered me one and cant wait to try it

Great video! I picked up one of these in 13.5 but want to replace the shaft. Do I tip the shaft to 3 wood recommendations or do I just butt trim it down to 43.75"? Thanks!
I still think there's a massive gap in the market for a 3 wood in the 220 - 250cc range and we just dont see them. Ive tried this off the deck and im a pretty decent player, and its TOUGH. Im just not buying it when people say this works off the deck, unless you're swinging well, it's way tougher than a 3 wood.
I’m looking at this exact same setup for me as it’ll be right in between my 9.25 degree driver and my 3HL 16.5 degree fairway with a kai’li stiff shaft, how do u find distance off the tee with the 12.75 compared to the other two?
@@michaelgillies9075 great. Carry is 20yds shorter than driver. Off the deck 20yds further than 7w (20.25°). Off the tee 30yds further than 7w. Deep face do cause me to have Low spinny ones OTD. kills distance but its consistent and easier to hold greens. Inadvertently gapped my long game otd lol
What hurts the mini driver is bag size. With 14 club allotment it is incredibly easy to justify carrying both driver and 3 wood. Since they are both more optimized for task they are used for they is little need to take a one more versatile club that isn’t as optimized. Maybe in formats with less clubs did you see this blossom
Ive got 2 of last years i play links in Northern England, if its really windy I drop driver turn the 11.5 down to 9.5 heavy weight in the front with a driver shaft and no tee its an absolute stinger launcher head head bullets 280-90 carry 🚀
Not all copper and no bubble shaft. Plus $200 more than a stealth 2 3 wood which smoked it in my fitting and then the pga pro fitter tested and still smoked it with the stealth 2 3 wood.
***HELP!*** The only driver i ever hit a draw with consistantly is an original burner bubble, NO TI! Now i tried this new mini 11.5 degree at the range and im intrigued but have no clue about the tools, wieghts, settings, lie angles, bounce angels and shafts. My current driver is a Great big bertha 2 with a stock firm shaft. It's the only driver I've come across since 1995ish that i'm somewhat confident with although i still can't make a draw. I just hit a power fade, straight pull or the obvious miss...borderline slice- slice. What driver/settings would you recommend?
I play a Mini Driver and I find it is very predictable for distance. I there is any trouble past 250 (common) it is mini driver every time. Regular driver when free to go further. SO MUCH more forgiving than a 3 wood! I play it 13.5 turned up to 15 degrees
I'm a 15 handicap with decent swing speed that struggles with a slice when hitting driver. I wonder if I'm who they're aiming at... Just different coloring relative to last year’s, right?
Surely buy 2. 9.5 driver and 15.5 3 wood. Awesome.
"We should just move to Dubai."
lmaooo
My previous year 13.5 is never coming out of the bag, such a weapon. Also Rory is using one at the Masters this week 👀
Tsr 2wood vid in the future ?👀
My Mini 300 13.5° @12.75 is money. Struggle with 3w toe hooks tee’d up? Go getchya self a “mega 3w”. You wont regret it. Oh and it sounds 👌🏽
Tiger and Rory both using one this week
I love my BRNR mini.. easy, automatic, fairway finder ..
Should have made an updated bubble shaft too!
Let Mikey swing it!
The Pittsburgh mini still superior also
***HELP!***
The only driver i ever hit a draw with consistantly is an original burner bubble, NO TI! What driver/settings would you recommend?
been waiting for this video
M8 struggles to launch a driver should I recommend him one of these ?
What flex are you using in the 11.5?
Stiff in both
I play a Mini Driver and I find it is very predictable for distance. I there is any trouble past 250 (common) it is mini driver every time. Regular driver when free to go further. SO MUCH more forgiving than a 3 wood! I play it 13.5 turned up to 15 degrees
I played with eddie pepperell in the Qatar pro-am and he was spanking this. he had the QI 10 in the bag and said that this went as far as his driver
$450 is a little steep for me, maybe next year when it comes down
2019 tiger would’ve been all over this. He played the m5 tour head that was considerably smaller than the regular m5 head
Ive got both the 11.5 and 13.5 turned up in my bag.
madman
I broke so many bubble shafts back in the day, haha.
Sorry if this was stated but is this a 3 wood shaft or shorter driver shaft?
3 wood length shaft
It’s 43.75”…a little longer than a standard 3 wood.
Wasn't the original 310cc?
Which one to buy? 11.5 or 13.5?
11.5 no doubt
Head to head comparison vs ping 430 3w low spin 👀
first driver i ever played was a ti bubble 2.
I'm a 15 handicap with decent swing speed that struggles with a slice when hitting driver. I wonder if I'm who they're aiming at... I feel a mental pause spending the money because I suspect the real answer is lessons and practice, but as a middle aged guy with a full time job and a family, finding the time to fix my driver is difficult.
Same feeling. I just brought one yesterday lol will let you know how it goes
How did it go?
No green in the bag? Do we have a Rangers fan?
The burner was cool back in the day.
Do you hit down like a 3 wood or up like a driver
Slight descending angle of attack for a 3W
Do you think Taylormade is trying to get the jump on development of a small driver? Is not driver size the next target in the rollback?
Yes I think so
I played one back in the day
So I might find an old head and put a good shaft in and see what happens
Get a old burner bubble 3 wood for Mikey to try
Tiger is using the new burner in practice round at master
Day one of trying to get Ian to get Mikey to say “we are the people” 😂😂
