So sad to think Majima has one of the most tragic stories in the Yakuza series. I mean he fell in love with Makoto but had to let her go because he wants her to be safe. Added to that, Makoto doesn't even knew what he looked like.
His ending isn't that tragic, he still managed to get back in the Tojo clan which was all he ever wanted before, besides, im pretty sure both Kiryu and Majima are treated as legends in the Yakuza.
@@peneIoP why does he want to get back in the Tojo Clan so much? Or into the yakuza at all? Also, why didn't he just kill the green suit guy that he was collecting the money for? Majima had multiple chances to off him, but didn't. Why? And why did Majima go insane at the ending of 0 and in Kiwami? Please, no spoilers after Kiwami. I only played Kiwami and 0, in that order. Wish I played 0 first though.
@@xXRealXx Majima wanted to get back into the Tojo clan so that his brother, Saejima has something to come back to once hes out of jail so he doesn't kill him, this was literally his motivation in 0 bro how did you miss it. And he made a promise to Sagawa in the ending of 0 to be the most craziest yakuza in the entirety of the Tojo clan, thats why his title is "The mad dog of Shimano." Emphasis on the "mad dog". Don't know who this green suit guy you're talking about, gotta be more specific.
@@peneIoP oh yea, the green suit guy was Sagawa. I didn't remember his name at the time of writing my comment. Oh, I see now, it's because of his brother. Thanks. So, about Sagawa, I know that he promised him to be the craziest guy in the Tojo Clan, but why didn't he kill him when he (Majima) was trying to save Makoto? Because then he would not be able to get back into the Tojo Clan?
To be fair, they mostly do it because that series paints them in a positive light, similar to how The Godfather does with the Sicilian mafia, and the latter loves that trilogy Meanwhile, a film like The Goodfellas depicts the mafia as the losers they really are, and you don't see any gangster praising it
@@luismachado1934 They're all gangsters who partake in drug and weapon traffic, extorsion, intimidation, murder, and so on. Yes, all yakuza are bad. People talk about fantasies...Majima is a fantasy that transcends all fantasies. He is not just the male fantasy, female fantasy or final fantasy...oh no...he is the fantasy THAT NEVER ENDS.
Its funny how the beginning has Majima moving around like a crappy, stiff animatronic at Chuck E Cheese. Contrasts with the full blown high production stage bit.
It's all over the place, but in a good way. The story is mostly serious and deals with quite heavy topics, but the side quests and other activities are all just batshit insane, over the top and even wholesome. Nothing really feels forced and it's overall a good time, though it can be annoying sometimes if you're a completionist as there's a whole lot of content in every game.
@@xXRealXx Yes, if he killed Sagawa he wouldn't be able to get back into the Tojo clan since Sagawa is his only connection to the Yakuza.

Quick reminder that the Yakuza itself said these games are very faithful to the real thing
To be fair, they mostly do it because that series paints them in a positive light, similar to how The Godfather does with the Sicilian mafia, and the latter loves that trilogy
Meanwhile, a film like The Goodfellas depicts the mafia as the losers they really are, and you don't see any gangster praising it
@@Megalomaniac_Trans_Lesbian not all yakuzas are bad right?
@@luismachado1934 They're all gangsters who partake in drug and weapon traffic, extorsion, intimidation, murder, and so on. Yes, all yakuza are bad. Not every criminal is bad, since being a criminal depends on relative laws that may not be good, but organised crime is always horrible, as are its practitioners

I'm really considering getting into the Yakuza series at this point
You need to do it
It's all over the place, but in a good way. The story is mostly serious and deals with quite heavy topics, but the side quests and other activities are all just batshit insane, over the top and even wholesome. Nothing really feels forced and it's overall a good time, though it can be annoying sometimes if you're a completionist as there's a whole lot of content in every game. Anyways, it's one of my favorite game series, and I definitely recommend starting with yakuza 0!

Perhaps the song is a representation for whats going on inside of him and how he just puts on a happy persona
Wait, I know this is an old comment, but how so? I looked them up too but they didn't seem too sad.
@@anon9359 It's a cute love song on the surface, but when you read it as being about Makoto it has a sad subtext. Majima and Makoto loved each other, but could only be together for a short time. The song talks about Cinderella's innocence and her resoluteness in the face of danger, which are the things Majima loved about Makoto, and even after "midnight" when Majima left to continue his life in the yakuza, he will always carry the memory of her and his love for her, which I think is represented by the glass slipper.
@@anon9359 and to add it majima is really good at putting on a personal, for example look at the "kimi ga shiawase nara" karaoke majima sang at kiwami 2 if I'm not mistaken, he's singing that depressing song with a crazy tone, hiding his own sadness:(
