@@BertFlanders I'm a beta tester, so I've known for quite a while. I think the release was going to be a few weeks ago, but they've had issues with the Steinberg shop (asknet went down the pan), so it's been delayed because of that.
I think out of the box, this is one of the best no frills sounding Vocoders. The one with Studio one is ok, but not nearly as crisp sounding as this. The reason one is killer, but its not a default stock plugin.
🍀A well done tutorial, respect. I've had Cubase 13 for a few weeks but haven't tried the vocoder yet. These examples here sound terrible, at least to me. I hope that later I can find a setting where you get a really grating vocoder sound, where the singing is still easy to understand. For example: Like with older Giorgio Moroder songs, Kraftwerk or Daft Punk. The Orange Vocoder IV sounds e.g. 1a. Or the Matrix by Virsyn (2008). 🍀🥂
Well I want to try this but off the bat the video doesn't help me at all because my Midi track doesn't have all that stuff under "Routing". It only has the first two and there is no "Vocoder Midi In" anywhere.
@@musictechtuition I found out it was because I was viewing the "Channel" sidebar and not the "Inspector" sidebar. Honestly I don't know what the Channel one is for if it has stuff with the same name but less info... I got this to work when I looked at the routing section of the Inspector instead, thanks!
@@stevenleonmusic Glad you got it sorted. The channel one allows you to view a subset of the info for the channel, which I find useful, but I think that's because there are some deficiencies in the way the new inspector works...
@@musictechtuition Yeah I thought I could just stop using inspector because I actually really like the Channel panel overall but I still find myself going back for some things. I have a feeling we're basically beta testers and Cubase 14 or 15 will just unify these into one panel that actually does all you want. I LOVE having the pre-gain, etc. much easier to access but I'm not a fan of certain options being locked away like the extra Routing options.
as per their M.O. They remove something then sell it back ... Awesome vids... There are people having Major graphical issues w/C13 GUI, Are you seeing that anywhere??
I'm one of those people. I'm seeing lots of issues which I hoped would have been fixed by the release time, but haven't been. It's been reported for quite a while, so I think they are working on it.
Thanks for the series about Cubase 13!
Glad it's finally getting an airing!
@@musictechtuitionSo, since when did you know .... Cheers from Belgium!

Have you created a track with the vocoder in it before doing that? All the available MIDI inputs should appear in the list of possible outputs...

Oh that all sounded awful.
But you can mix in some noise
@@jcBurton2094 I think maybe just some high end cuts. I have 13 so will check it out! Thanks!
