Don't waste your money on the lilac dior collection - anyone. Unless you're super pale and want to buy the blush. It is pigment-less garbage. seen multiple influencers layer on the lip products and you can't see any hint of lilac.

Edit: I don’t agree that it’s “garbage” bc it’s meant to give you a flush of color. But I agree that for the price, it’s simply OK and you are not missing out.

Also on the lip balm part! I bought the summer Fridays butter balm during the Sephora sale and honestly i was so disappointed 😭😭 It smells super nice but it’s very grainy on my lips and goes away almost immediately

Glow Recipe discontinued the watermelon liquid sunscreen. I think it's weird that they launched a spf stick without also releasing a new liquid sunscreen. To get sufficient protection from a sunscreen stick, you'd have to swipe it on your face A LOT (which would get extremely greasy). Sun sticks are better as reapplication after liquid sunscreen.
I wonder if they took the feedback from the liquid version and felt the formula overall would work better as a stick? 🤔

I have tried so many lip balms over the last few years so here is my breakdown. Also just to note I’d look at your ingredients in a lip balm that you really like to see if it has polybutene or hydrogenated polyisobutene in it. Polybutene is a thicker and tackier, while hydrogenated polyisobutene is a little bit thinner and leaves a slightly slippier coating. But I’ve noticed talking to friends that some people have a preference in ingredients and don’t even realize it!
ole henriksen peptide lip treatment in the limited edition blood orange spritz: ($1.83/ gram) This was way too tacky for me and the flavor smelled so plasticky and artificial. This one was definitely my least favorite but I’m not sure if I got a bad one. Also to note this one has polybutene and no hydrogenated polyisobutene, which I personally like better in my lip products.
Summer Fridays: ($1.60/gram) These scents weren’t as strong as the ole ones that I’ve smelled so I personally enjoyed the scents. This one has hydrogenated polyisobutene so it worked with my chemistry to hydrate my lips (nothing mind blowing just some light hydration). It wears off faster than the rest of them but I like the color it gives to my lips. I use this one like a lipgloss because of the color and shine it gives me. Also worth noting the applicator is a nice soft silicone which hugs my lips nicely so I enjoy the feel of putting it on.
Laniege lip glowy balm: ($1.90/gram)
I found that this one has a similar effect in terms of sheen to summer Fridays but without the color. This one I enjoyed, it’s slightly hydrating but also not anything mind blowing. It’s a bit lighter of a consistency so it wears off pretty quickly.
Elf squeeze me lip balm: ($0.63/gram)
This one is similar to laneige lip glowy balm but slightly thicker so it lasts longer. It also doesn’t have much color pay off. The scents seem pretty strong to me which I’m not a huge fan of but I got used to it by the time I finished my first tube. This one is a solid contender for my favorite. It’s inexpensive and gets the job done. (Also has hydrogenated polyisobutene which contributes to the texture I love.)
Laneige lip mask: ($1.20/gram)
I know this is technically a lip mask not a balm but I love this one. It has both hydrogenated polyisobutene and polybutene so it is more tacky and stays on the lips longer but also leaves a nice glossy look. It isn’t incredibly hydrating IF your lips aren’t in a compromised state but it is the perfect texture for me which makes me less likely to lick my lips and rub them. This is definitely worth trying if you have really dry lips because it hydrates lips in a compromised state. Or if you just like the smells/ texture and want something that is nice to keep you from licking your lips if you have a problem with that.
Tower 28: (1.45/gram)
This one was nothing special imo. The texture was in the middle compared the everything else I’ve tried. It left a glossy finish but I did find the pigments to look a little patchy on the lips. The applicator is rounded like a carmex which I personally hated so it wasn’t something worth getting excited about for me.
Smith rosebud salve tin: ($0.29/gram)
This is glorified Vaseline (with a touch of fragrance and oils) but I still enjoy it. It thins down once it warms up on your body and leaves a nice glossy sheen without color. If you live in a warm climate it will melt but they also have squeeze tubes with a bunch of flavors. This is also easily a contender for one of favorites, it got me addicted to lip balms lol.

I freaking love this! I agree with everything except about Olehenriksen & SF (albeit I do agree with the applicator comment) SF has a better dispenser. I felt the SF has an artificial vanilla taste & the Olehenriksen tastes more natural (I have strawberry & Cocoa); also in imo their balm is more moisturizing than all of the brands you mentioned (I own or tested all of those products you mentioned).
Mario (makeup by Mario regular skincare line) has replaced my Laneige lip masks-i will keep my minis from laneige to throw in my purse. Tysm for the information. ❤

@@kellygreengables3936 not necessarily plump…but they are juicy looking and made my lips look more flattering and almost like a natural plump. I don’t have full lips but it created a nice illusion.

If you want a good lip balm that's tinted, the hot cocoa glossier Balm Dotcom is excellent the scent and color is so good. It's limited edition for the holidays though so not for a while sadly :(

I tried the matte foundation from fenty when it came out and i personally didnt like it and realized i dont enjoy matte foundations on me. But it didnt discourage me from trying the new foundation that is opposite of their original. Its so much better for me. Very light weight and you do not need much and it still covers, shade match is wonderful,all the claims match the product. They are not kidding about the glow either and it LASTs. Wore it for a good 6 hours and pressed a paper towel on it with all the glow and very little transferred. Now you do not NEED this foundation but it is a wonderful replacement for the lancome glow foundation which broke me out like crazy because its heavily perfumed. Im very happy with it.

I’m kinda sick of all the sheer lip products. Like I love a good gloss as much as the next girl, but I feel like it’s just annoying to have to layer a lip stain or lipstick under my glosses and lip oils.
Try Buxom lip plumping creams, they have great pigment, blur the lines on your lips and last awhile. 🫶
ughhh I've been a lip balm collector since I was a child and all of these launches are driving me insaanee, love it though!! Although if you're not a collector I totally get not getting them!

the hourglass ambient lighting pallets lowkey make sense to me for certain people. i have rosacea which can be visible even through foundation (depending on how flushed i am) so i rarely ever wear blush, but always wear bronzer. for somebody like me, those pallets would make sense, however, to the average person, maybe not? bc they do try to combine several base products into one pallet, while leaving out one (powder, highlight, and blush/bronzer) so it's a bit strange ig for most people

The lilac Dior blush was a disappointment for me and my first return to Sephora ever. It literally hard panned on me during swatching, but there was No color on my fair skin regardless. I suggest pansy pop blush by Clinique if you want a purplish cooler toned hue. It’s lovely 💜
Yes, love that product and miss it. I’m glad you got your money back on the Dior blush! I try not to finger swatch or use anything damp with the blushes. I never had a hard pan issue with mines.

The new tower 28 confetti cake is actually way more pigmented than the picture makes it seem. I’m a woc so it’s more pink purple on me and I love it. Been wearing it everyday to work. It’s so flattering. I had to order backups 😅

For a lip gloss, try the tower 28 lip jelly! Its nice thick and nourishing and it gives a nice pigment and is glossy on the lips. Coconut gives such a nice pinky color

i got the dewy benefit lip tint i really like it omg, its like a lip gloss look but with a matte formula. its not sticky at all and its super comfy. i wouldnt say its hydrating but it doesnt dry my lips out either. it also leaves a slight tint behind i think.

If you want more of a purple-pink blush use the rare beauty "grace" liquid soft touch and it's gorgeous! It's still a pink but more on the cool side

the new glossier lip balm is their old formula which is SO much better then the vegan one that separates and get liquidy, the thing i really like about it is that it’s not just for your lips you can also put it on your nails and it makes my nails look really great. overall i rlly wanna buy it soon!

Honestly, in my opinion, makeup brands should not be doing sunscreen. It’s not what they are catering to at all, and I simply don’t trust them to make a good quality sunscreen. I use actual sunscreen brands like banana boat, Australian Gold, etc.
I feel you on this. I think it also depends on a lot of factors, so I’ll give it a chance if the reviews are good.

Have you ever tried powder foundation? That’s how I started wearing makeup bc I hated the feeling of liquid foundation. I’d recommend bareminerals loose powder foundation. ♥️

I got my first job last year which has given me some financial freedom instead of asking my parents for things, which they would not get me anyway. But I bought the laneige sleeping mask and it has made my lips super smooth and soft. I also have the rare beauty blush and powdered highlighter and they are beautiful. They are “viral”, but I think that they are viral for a reason, because they work. But I do agree that you have to be careful with some products, which is why I like watching videos like this!

My favorite lip balm/lip oil is definitely glaze from in beauty I have the candy apple original one and it is amazing. it’s so good and juicy and they come😊 in so many different ones that are tinted

I got Coola SPF lip balm because the reviews said it doesn't taste horrible, and it doesn't! Otherwise I use the vaseline one because I don't want fragrance or anything

Okay the fact that 2 of the face products you recommend (bare minerals powder foundation and it cosmetics cc cream) are some of my holy grails even though I’m dry and eczema prone just says how good they are!! If anyone wants a good powder or liquid foundation and you can spend a lil bit of money definitely check out bare minerals and it cosmetics. If they work for both cystic acne prone skin and dry flakey eczema skin they will almost deffo work for you!! ❤

Some people say that the gisou is not hydrating or it’s just not worth it. Although the pricing is a little over the top, I do like the lip oil. I think it is an actually lip oil and not a lip gloss marketed as a lip oil. I also think it’s a nice lip product if you are going for a glossy lip.
I actually find it the perfect balance between an oil and a gloss!! I was surprised and became a fan. 🫶
For favourite lip balms… I would say top 3…
1. Makeup by Mario lip balm/serum I love how pigmented, glossy and effortless it is but hydrating as well. Some people don’t like how it rolls up though
2. I love the laneige lip balms, very hydrating and gloss, I like to put it on top of a lip liner for pigment since there really isn’t any
3. I really have started to like tower 28 lip balms, I got the set when they first came out and fell in love with how creamy, glossy and hydrating it is, there is some pigment but not as much as in the makeup by Mario I feel.

I bought the strawberry balm dotcalm from Glossier, (and lost it I’m so mad). I love the taste and color of the flavor, but like you said it’s nothing special really and the formula is pretty ok.

Ole Hendrickson peptide lip treatment is the way to go. I never jumped on the train with the Rhode lip treatment because celebrity skin care lines can seem “fishy” to me (however hers does seem to have great results with great skincare in it, not just her name attached) so I got the original Ole Hendrickson lip treatment before he even came out with colors and I’ve never looked at another lip balm. I used mine as a true night treatment and it’s changed my lips and the tube last me 5-6 months like that (it has a 6 mo expiration date). I am not one to have backups of makeup or skincare but I have extras of this. I do want the strawberry sorbet one now. They are glossy and they stick around for a long time. Not sticky either. They just really envelop the lips.
From what everyone is saying, I think a majority of people with my preferences like the Ole Hendrickson. I’ll keep y’all updated when I try it!

How do you feel about the saie foundation for acne prone skin? I have pretty dry skin and I get closed comodones very easily.
I’m not sure, I’ve never tried it before. But on Sephora its considered “noncomedogenic.” Wish I could help more!

Hey about viral lip balms ive tried glossiers,summer fridays and laniege and laniege is perfect i unfortunately lost mine but its glossy has a sheer tint and actually way more hydrating than the summer Fridays one I definitely recommend ❤️

I am the type of person to use bronzer. I don’t use make up yet, but I have rosacea which gives me a natural blush, which is sometimes too much blush so I don’t like having blushes in my pallets

@@ellerchu yeah but also I like watching your views on things because you’re honest, I would like to know if the sunscreen actually works because I need a sunscreen that I can apply without using my hands during sports because I don’t wanna put dirt on my face
I'm undergoing isotretinoin treatment, it leaves my lips extremely dry. There's no other lip balm that works for me like LetiBalm, it's a fantastic over-the-counter product. 7 euros in Spain, you don't need to over consume.

VANILLA TOWER 28 LIP BALM IS VERY GLOSSY & HYDRATING

I know this could be controversial but hands down the most AMAZING lip oil/hydrating lip product I have ever bought is the Jelly Wow Sheglam Lip Oil collection. They go on like literal BUTTER and last for hours! I was so surprised at how much I loved the texture and that gorgeous glossy finish. It comes in many colours and scents, but my personal favourites are Berry Wow (pink) and Coco Loco (clear). These are on the sheerer side but that’s what I’d prefer, even though you can layer them over a variety of lipsticks or lip stains. For a lip oil thats €3, in comparison to the Elf Lip Oil (which is supposed to be budget friendly) being €12, it’s a no brainer. And the fact that the Jelly Wow is actually more hydrating? I’d totally recommend!!

Honestly, the tower28 is my favorite, it tastes amazing, the darker shades are very pigmented, and I feel like my lips are actually hydrated by it. However, I have heard some people are getting ones that have gone bad, so if you aren’t willing to risk it, I don’t blame you!

I like Tower 28 lip balms. They actually have some pigment and they taste great. The only thing I don’t like is the applicator. It’s very round and there is no flat side at all.

I was so excited for the Dior launch & picked up both the blush & lip oil. I love the blush but was kind of disappointed with the lip oil. I feel like the lip oils get a lot of hype but they feel like an okay product to me. Wouldn’t spend the $40 on it again.

The lip oil is more of a gloss to me, which I like. But there are so many new lip products that $40 can’t be justified. All in all, I agree with you!
U can prob still return it depending on where you got it from
i haven’t tried the ola hendrickson, but i have tried the glossier!! the glossier balms melt very easily and do have a little bit of shine! i would recommend, not my fav tho

I’m excited for the new watermelon glow spf. Niacinimide works so well with my oily skin so I’m excited to try it. I ordered it from Sephora on Wednesday and it says it won’t be here until Monday so I’ll have to wait and see if it’s any good

I like lanolin and shea butter in my lip balms, I like em thick, balmy. I personally always go back to lanolips and co bigelow my favorite night balm specifically most importantly they actually work to moisturize my lips.

Kulfi concealer is my favorite and the most glowy! I also would recommend the Tower 28, it’s made with sensitive skin in mind.

Agree about your comment about Fenty complexion products; I’m medium-deep-neutral & she never has my undertone. I refuse to buy two foundations…I do love her bronzers, brushes, parfum, & lip products.

I think that those blush and bronzer palettes are made separate because they want you to feel like you have to buy both. Therefore you’re spending more money 🫠

I have the Summer Fridays birthday balm, and I don’t understand the hype. They are nice, but I feel like it doesn’t do anything for my lips. I have the Watermelon Sugar Gisou lip oil, and I will be buying Gisou lip oils for life now. It’s light, yet hydrating, yet beautiful on the lips. Love, love, love that product.
