I would have been such a big fan of that band had I lived back then. I have a couple of Cugat albums. High energy and great arrangements. Awesome musicians!
Yes indeed, & a few years later in the spring of 1964 as is known, Our Hero Trini Lopez would record this as part of the suite of tunes comprising '' The Latin Album'', LP number four in his Reprise recording series. He gave it his own unique, eclectic touch of tonality.
I looked them up. They were quite entertaining. The one guy was smokin' a cigar. There outfits were crazy good! They were founded by Herb Albert, who also founded "The Carpenters." Karen actually recorded with Magic Lamp Record prior to Herb Helbert. The company didn't have enough funds to stay afloat. There was only so many of those 45's made. Who ever has one, has something of value. Thank you for sharing! If they were on Ed Sullivan, I hope they post it. 💖
The dancing of the maracas player is phenomenal! 🎉
the world’s a better place that this exists

Sounds exactly like any of the current Drum Corps shows
Did Xavier Cugat wear a tupe? Sure looks like it...Abbe Lane was OK with that? He was 30 years older then her. the French Horn player is pretty cool.
