It's a very very difficult decision. Choosing a seed for your new front lawn, full sun conditions, zone 5-6. I'm looking for the top scorers in Kentucky blue and Perennial ryegrass seeds that have excellent dark dark green color, new improved disease resistance, drought resistance, early spring greenup, reduced Spring seed head development, cold tolerance and a blend that looks nice at a 4-inch cut. Also what is the ideal seed mix percentage, 50/50, 80/20, 60/40???

unfortunately they all died over the winter. i think with them being in the bags and the roots being exposed to the extreme cold did it, i probably should have put them back in the garage .
Ill tell ya right now that i tried using Johnathan Green Black-Beauty Ultra and i had weeds growing right along side of it that i never had before, not to mention that any kind of chemicals i used on that grass killed it immediately, thats any so-called "selective" weed killers to insecticides, oh i also forgot to mention that at least 30 or so percentage of it just never fills in and you have to keep re-seeding over and over again and the summer heat killed off a good percentage of it as well😢

Thanks! I would look for some kentucky bluegrass. I have some experience with the barenbrug turf blue HGT and I'm fairly impressed with its growth rate. Also it's a bit hard to find in seed but readily available in sod is the Scotts Pro Vista Kentucky Blue Grass. It's perfect for what your looking for.
"Scott's Pro Vista Improved" . The "Improved" variety has a darker blue green than the regular Scott's Pro Vista. Both currently available in seed and Sod. This is a genetically-modified seed that grows at a much slower pace. A big drawback is that it requires patience, a lot of patience because it can take up to a year to fill in.
Is there a breakdown of the specific grass seed products matched to each example shown? I skimmed through but didn't catch this breakdown. I went with a TTTF, Jonathan Green Original (in MI). I'm curious which tall fescues were used in the right column of samples.

At my mom's old house in the back there was a patch of grass unlike any I have ever seen. The blades were very thick never grew very tall. The feel was super soft.
