I am among the consensus of women who really appreciate that I can see you, someone who has hair similar texture and thickness as mine complete a look and it comes out flawless. My hair has been in the natural state for 5 years but I never wear it out because I didn't think that it would come out nicely. you have given me motivation to give this a shot, and I really am not great at doing hair I pray that it works out for me! Again thank you for doing videos like these they certainly provide the motivation needed.
I chose your video because of your hair texture. I watched a few prior to yours and frankly most black women have more coarse hair not the naturally soft and wavy types. Your video was on point from beginning to end. Showing how to actually twist our hair was key. Most videos say it but don't really show it. Thank you natural beauty.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING HOW YOU FLAT TWIST THE "BACK" OF YOUR HAIR!!!! Many tutorials only show twisting two or three in the front and the results come out wonderfully!!!! Thank you for being so thorough.
This was a great tutorial in every regard! I like how there was only pertinent speaking points, great detail to technique and very clear visuals. Keep up the excellent work please! We need more REAL 4C videos to keep us encouraged 😊
I love how your nail polish matches your perm rods/ rollers exactly! Was that intentional? The effect is marvelous. Excellent video tutorial! The quality of the video is great. I like how you show EXACTLY how you twist the hair and explain in the voiceover what you are doing to reinforce our learning. I also liked how you tell us how many sections AND how many twists per section. I can see every thing you are doing very clearly. The texture of your hair is gorgeous! The results are very nice. The hair is shaped really well. More videos, please!
Liked your video! To reduce most of your frizz& undefined part you should throughly detangle hair then once again when your finish twisting at the scalp, even though your hair is still in tack in your fingers doesn't mean it's detangle. Especially from all that twisting it has already started to coil back onto other strands. I found this helpful for me to maintain defined twistout
I can't believe it was your first time because you styled your hair like a pro. Very easy to follow and understand. What type of rollers are those? How do you maintain it and how long does it last?
As many have stated, it nice to see thicker hair texture tutorials! Not only that, your explanation of 'how to' flat twist was so needed. I am excited to try my first flat twist out soon! Thanks
I love how detailed you were in explaining how to do the flat twist out. Other people aren't as detailed. I actually learned how to do it watching your video. Only thing I wish is that you were as detailed in explaining how you take the twists out. I always run into problems taking it out. I think because of the hair adding going down. It's not as easy as simply unraveling two strand twists. If you could do a video how you take the twists out while explaining how you avoid disrupting the curl and dealing with added hair each time you try to unravel. A awesome video !
Thanks sooomuch im new at this and I am 70yrs young and I been natural for about 4yr I've really been thinking about going back to chemical thank you again for showing the flat twists up close your hair is about the sam length as mine thanks again
I did this last night and it came out the same way! We have the same hair texture and it looked EXACTLY like yours when I had it twisted with the rollers. Thank you soo much! This is a great video for 4b/4c ladies ❤
Your hair is gorgeous! I have watched many videos on how to flat twist and yours is by far the best at explaining it in simple terms. Your technique is masterful! I will be giving it a try. Thanks so much!
Awesome to see there are so many other ways to wear natural 4c hair other than this dang afro I've got. Not saying its bad, but it gets old after a while. I see all these other tutorials, and the hair texture is nothing like mine, so when I try them they don't usually work out or look the same, but yours are like perfection! Thank you so much and I cant wait to see and perform some of your other hair styles on my own hair! #Subscirbed :)
oh my goodness lola ade! I was JUST thinking the same thing! kbmaria, my 10 yr old baby girl has the same hair type, ridiculous thickness! she has been begging me to learn how to do flat twists but like lola said, 59 million videos later, it finally makes sense!
Thank you so much, I was so excited to see someone with my hair type. I have been trying everything to make my hair look nice as yours. I'm going to give this a try and I'll let you know how it works out for me
A+ twist out and I love how you modified your technique for your texture. I'm squarely in the 4s as well. Worst nightmare are twists that aren't dry! I apply oil in the shower and rinse the excess out. I dry with a T-shirt then 70% air dry. The oil makes parting easy and if sections get too dry, I spray water into my hand and work it in with As I Am Twist Defining Creme. I also sleep on a satin pillow so moisture can escape rather than getting trapped in my silk scarf. Thank you for sharing. I'll take your parting routine and run with it!
Thank you! all the videos i find are of different textures and its hard for me to find videos of the same hair type as me! you definitely have a new follower. Black girl magic!!
This is an excellent tutorial! My recent attempt at a flat twist set was a failure (LOL) but I love what you've done here. Maybe this will work for me when I try it in a week or two!
Yes about to do this and save hours in my hair. Only thing differently that I will do is sit under the dryer about 30 minutes. I have put a bonnet on my hair before, went to bed and woke up and it was still a little damp, but this is so cute. I cannot wait. Thanks so much.
Hey, thanks for the tutorial, your the first person I've seen with same texture hair as mine. so when you did your twist out I saw the same results that I get. it looks great. plus I didn't know you could use that paste to twist your hair, someone gave it to me for edge control. Thanks for the info.😁
I did the "big chop" about a month ago and want to learn how to do these super cute hairstyles as my hair grows. Very informative, and you look FABULOUS! Love it. Thanks for the vid. :-)
I feel like everyone else on here...FINALLY someone who has hair like me and took the time to actually show the WHOLE HEAD from the kitchen to the front!!! OMG, how wonderful and I will try this one for sure. I have been natural for 14 years but never get a chance to twist it out because of so many failures. #Can'tWait
Omg, thanks finally a twist out with me hair texture that looks like something I can do. But at this point after two years of no perm straight braids and a little chop chop I'm ready to get a perm.☹️ hopefully I can master yours thanks
yay looks wonderful. must try this technique! and yes i have a lot of hair that same texture in my head, so this will probably work better than trying to go with the other texture i have on top. thank you.
Your hair looks to beautiful. My hair is in a high puff because I have not quite figured out how to flat twist for a smooth twist out. I can flat twist in a style, but my hair grabbing technique must be wrong. Cant wait to try again tonight while I watch this video on my T.V.! Great video! Just subscribed.
This is the first time I've seen someone do a flat twist out with a hair type like mine. After seeing this I'm feeling better about how my hair turns out. Really great video.
okay see my hair is thick just like yours.... and this is the most beautiful hairstyle I have seen on TH-cam to date!. I wish I could do flat twist. the best I can do is two strand at night and then take out in the morning. It looks cute but not like yours:)
I really love this video it was very helpful I'm going to try this on my hair.. thank you.. I want to know do you do this every night? how do you keep the curls??
I truly appreciate your talk throughs and how detailed you are in your videos !! Your video quality is also beyond amazing !! I have almost the same, if not very similar textures and tendencies with my hair too so finding your channel makes me very happy. Cant wait to see more of your videos ! #newsubscriber
Wow, your hair is so thick. This is a very pretty style for you. It fits you perfectly. I think this works better for you than the other video. Thanks for sharing.
Just subscribed to your channel . For this to be you first flat twist they came out really neat and defined. We have similar hair textures an my hair is just as think of not worse. Can you do a way day routine tutorial please and a nighttime routine . August makes my 1 year natural Mark and my hair has grown so much . Thanks again
Nice job! Easy to understand, watch, listen to and learn from. My hair came out the same when I tried it before seeing your video, except that it's not as full and shorter than yours so I thought it didn't come out "right". I'll try it again when my hair grows more because it looks nicer when it's longer once dry. Thank you for the hope;) Subscribed.
I saw her hair and I knew it was the same quality as mine but you make it look so easy. It is an expectation vs reality phase with my hair, it does not cooperate for shit.
Hey sis, I could be wrong, but I think your dandruff comes from greasing your scalp with the Virgin fertilizer. I used to get dandruff all the time! I kept thinking my scalp was dry, but it was from layering on all those products! Dandruff is just dry oil flakes! Hope that helps!
Hello Kbmaria I absolutely loved your video, I liked and subscribed. I have short natural hair and loving rocking my hair but I am terrible at styling my own hair, which results in my hair being very dry and damaged. I would really appreciate it if you tell me the products you use for your hair.

Same here...give it a try, you'll be surprised at how cute it turns out 😊
You should definitely wear it! I'm sure it'll be gorgeous!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING HOW YOU FLAT TWIST THE "BACK" OF YOUR HAIR!!!! Many tutorials only show twisting two or three in the front and the results come out wonderfully!!!! Thank you for being so thorough.

kbmaria you're welcome!!
This was a great tutorial in every regard! I like how there was only pertinent speaking points, great detail to technique and very clear visuals. Keep up the excellent work please! We need more REAL 4C videos to keep us encouraged 😊

Still on my one year natural hair journey.I'll be sure to try this when my hair is at the right length .
You can achieve cute styles with shorter hair too : )
I love the fact that you didn't use a pick or comb to fluff. I don't do that so it's nice to see a tutorial without combs & picks being used
Wow! Finally someone with hair that's like mines! Trying this over the weekend because I'm so sick of this puff! Thanks for your tutorial!
