I have never seen a saw that looked that bad , come apart so easy. If it ran before it won't run long. The bearings are not to be greased. They are open to the inside with seals on the outside. Inside lubrication is provided by the 2 cycle oil that he didn't put in the gas. The run time on the video is all he had to provide before the cylinder walls and rings were shot.
It always amazes me that *globally* woods/forests everywhere are replete with such a *steady collection* of so many *different items* e.g. cars, tractors, motorcycles, guns, swords/knives, chainsaws, lawnmowers, hand tools of all kinds; even air compressors, generators, and a go cart or two; and ALL free for the taking! Have you noticed how kind the trees in the woods/forests are? They not only provide the leaves we see on top of each item for protection, but also the leaves *underneath* many of the items to be restored as well; you know *even though they've been sitting there for years/years.*
I too keep stumbling over neglected old chainsaws on my forest walks. So I took to urban hikes. Where I kept slipping on neglected watches and tools. Its a curse I tell you.

I have an Old McCulloch chainsaw my brother in law was throwing away. Not quite as nasty looking as your one. But you've inspired me to try and restore it. Great channel.
Nice work mate. just one thing I've learnt from experience, never paint the inside of a crank case. Over time the fuel in a two stroke will eat away at the paint and the paint will flake off into the main bearings and what not. Other than that it came up really good, well done.👍
I once went fishing and came back to find a MiniMac on my truck bumper. A saw under a hedge is not beyond the realm of possibilities. Doubtful, but possible..
Roughly 70% of the saws that come to me for repair look like bad when they show up. More effort is needed to clean them than repair them. Had you warmed that bent cylinder fin up before trying to straighten it it might have survived. Overall, you got it running again, which few would have attempted.

Природа прекрасна! Только посмотрите что выросло на бензопильной плантации
So satisfying to watch! No wonder they are so expensive. So much going on inside. Well done!
Yea never knew there was so much to a chainsaw
De nuevo otra gran muestra de su habilidad para la restauracion esta ves con esta motosierra de gasolina oxidada y abandonada, resultado impecable mis respetos y saludos desde Venezuela.
I have an Old McCulloch chainsaw my brother in law was throwing away. Not quite as nasty looking as your one. But you've inspired me to try and restore it.
Great channel.
Most of old saws just need carburator replacement to function again
Nice work mate. just one thing I've learnt from experience, never paint the inside of a crank case. Over time the fuel in a two stroke will eat away at the paint and the paint will flake off into the main bearings and what not. Other than that it came up really good, well done.👍
Excellent
I once went fishing and came back to find a MiniMac on my truck bumper. A saw under a hedge is not beyond the realm of possibilities. Doubtful, but possible..
Very hard to done great work
Amazing job!! Loved the intro as well
Great Job
Roughly 70% of the saws that come to me for repair look like bad when they show up. More effort is needed to clean them than repair them. Had you warmed that bent cylinder fin up before trying to straighten it it might have survived. Overall, you got it running again, which few would have attempted.
Il miracolo. E stato a farla partire con quel gruppo termico. Spero che mi capisci x come ho capito sei un meccanico vero ????? Io ho i miei dubbi
