*I'm watching in 144p, I swear the members of 90's Metallica are in the background, you got 2nd guy in back is Lars, right of him is Jason, next to him is James, the last guy on couch behind Shenanagans is Kirk! Lol! Very cool metal nerds in the room!*
Awesome run. Pokemon Gold/Silver really felt like the apex of the original GB line (up to GB Color, before GB Advance). Also 90%+ rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs work amazing for cleaning video game cart edge connectors. All the blowing air, taking the game in & out, blowing air, stress etc...you can do away with all that crap
It is not hard no, but to do it 24 hours before you have to do the actual speedrun at a location where you do not have the tools for it, might be a bit hard and tricky.
@@1313eable oh absolutely, it would also wipe the save file I think? TBC I did not mean to throw shade at the ppl in the video, just want ppl to know its possible and not too difficult 👍
No, it was fixed. Also, the ACE with the PC box names can solely be done on the English versions of Gold and Silver, due to the way the Coin Case glitch works.
I find it interesting that there's a 30% chance to catch Wooper in that patch of grass around 34:00 and it took him 8 times to get it, which would equate to 7 times not getting the Wooper from the grass... 10-7 = 3, 3/10 = 30%... huh....
Small note, the host was great. Could seamlessly integrate donations without the need of the couch saying so. Great job.

Werster is cocky af, while shenanagans is humble and chill
Strangely that's why I like them both haha
Well werster is very knowledgeable about the games and good at them
I found a shiny Pumpkaboo while I was watching this!

The guy in the center couch is SOOOO captivated 14:00 lmao
Awh hehe
They all seem like good kids
A seemingly normal run until the Goldenrod City Pokemon Center.
Monopoli low key chillin in the back
to think that after all these years, I finally found out what STAB meant....
Other than the obvious stabbing someone what does it mean?
@@Kitty_Salad STAB stands for same type attack bonus. Any move that has the same type as your Pokémon will have a 50% damage increase

Yeah, it will also wipe the save file, although I doubt that a speedrunner would really care about that.
@@1313eable lmao good point
1313e You can solder a battery in parallel before you remove the button cell, which will preserve the save
Can the pc box code be done on crystal?

Mister mv ?!

aww this was before gen 2 grass manip
Does Shenanagans have a Twitch?
Just want to point out his twitch is linked right under the screen capture for over an hour.

it's actually 0.7^7 = like 0.08 % to not get a whooper after 8 tries
Rens You mean 8%.

+TheLowbrid No, not at all. He didn't make any assumptions about the odds changing because of a past frequency.
"We say 'no' to daylight-savings because it saves three frames." *names himself and his pokemon, using something like 15 extra seconds*
Kek
he's not going for a super perfect run, but he does want to show off cool places and tricks to save time for the viewers
The names were donation incentives. The runner still wants to go as fast as possible outside of that.
anytime mah🧔🏿
Wait a second, shiny spinarak at 24:31 and no reaction what so ever. I thought shiny pokemon were extremely rare in gen 2!
It wasn't shiny otherwise the game would show an animation of the pokemon appears and around it are sparkles
*WOW, great observation! In one GDQ run, the audience went nuts over a Zubat encounter!*
That’s not a shiny. Spinarak just has weird coloring thanks to the hardware’s limited color pallets
Yeah that's not shiny. Several pokemon in the old gameboy games had different colors to thier modern designs today due to hardware limitations.
11:35 Your Welcome
Nobody gonna mention how he started silver and finished gold ???
Didja skip past the cart fails? Shen’s silver cart died, so they swapped to gold
