So glad to see you do this! I wish more thru hikers would continue across, weather permitting of course, simply because it’s right there! When will most of them ever get the chance again? My first time I followed the same route as you. I looked down into the chimney and said to myself no way. When I was about halfway across I came up on a couple with two young children. The kids were skipping along like a walk in the park, the mother was watching closely but not hovering, and the father was scooting on his butt apparently scared to death.
FYI this hike is from September 2022. I wanted to share it because so many people are interested or curious about this trail so I thought I would post it up here. Sometimes kids have way less fear than we do as adults!! Great for them!
‘I’d Hike that’ for sure. What a great rock scramble, awesome views, the prominence of these peaks to the surrounding area is impressive. My thoughts also then lead time to Imagining what it would have been like before the last ice age. This vid has really motivated me to do a hike near where I am that is just good solid rock scramble I’ve been putting off.
Wow...😮OMG the Go-Pro view is something else, scary! Lucky eye vision while hiking is more dimensional. Your confidence is soaring. Double dipping Katahdin!
Wow!! I didn't think you could amaze me more...I was wrong. I'm going to live that one vicariously thru you. Love this video... Thank you for all that you do.✌♥️
I'm an ashamed Mainer because I've never hiked Katahdin! My mother did though, and she was well on when she did! Wish I could tell her about my current hikes and have her watch yours. As always, incredible photography. Love it!!
Thank you! It's never too late to get out there. Even if you don't hike Katahdin, but some of the other mountains where you can get a very special view.
Absolutely incredible footage! You are back in your element and looking great. My heart was in my throat during the whole climb, lol. Thank you. Keep chasing those blazes, girl!
Wow, that was great. I always wanted to do knifes edge. I’m deathly scared of heights, but I think I’ve overcome that a little bit because I’ve done the beehive and the precipice in Acadia national park. I’d love to go to Baxter Park, and try knifes edge. Keep going frizzle.
Hi! Wow! My husband and I are are section hikers and he wants to do Mount Katahdin next year. Just curious, what trail did you take with Jim back down from Katadhin? The hubs would love to try knifes edge, but I have a bit of fear of heights & that looked real sketchy to me 😳😆😛 but we’ll see. And lady you Rock!!! ✌🏻❤ 🥾
We hiked down Saddle trail to Chimney Pond trail back to Roaring Brook campground. Jim doesn't like heights either which is why we hiked separately up to Baxter Peak. Thank you!!!
That was amazing footage. I have hiked that and I was more scared watching you do it than when I did it. Pretty amazing hike isn't it? The views are unforgettable. Only on a perfect day though. I did it again with my husband and his 4 coworkers in fog and 70 mile gusts. Not as much fun. Thank you
The views on this hike were like nothing else. To be that high from those vantage points was incredible! The GoPro does make it look a bit more precarious although it was a very tricky hike for sure.
Thanks for sharing- scary looking stuff!!
WOWSA!!! 😮
Katahda is calling...so you must go, climb, conquer and have a sleep over...just because!

Wow, thank you!
If that climb is as sketchy as it looks it would not be for me. You are amazing!
It's not quite as bad as the GoPro makes it look but there are definitely some parts that are quite unnerving. Thank you!
So glad you continue to share your journey in life 😊
Always!

Very scary to watch! Cannot imagine hiking it! Wow!
The GoPro does give it a little more 'umph' in some places but certainly not an easy hike!
Amazing ❤❤❤
