Its funny people call these "really old" when they dont look much different. They have double disc openers and pack wheels. Theyre pretty much a no till planter and no till has not been in practice that long.. We have one of these and it works perfect. We also have an old one that I saved from my dad wanting to cut it up for scrap iron. Its a six row john deere with metal seed cans! It also works well. I planted 6 acres with it last year. So fun! It spaced the seeds very nicely.
The 7000 series planters were a game-changer when they came out, the fact that they still can compete is a testament to their reliability!

it may be old but we all know it does the job
you can cover a lot of acres with old stuff
it's the know how that's important
