    Best video out there to explain the proper setup for these planters. I have been struggling to get my planter planter set up in a manner to get all the seed properly buried in the ground. I wish I had seen this video sooner, but at least now I know how to set up my planter properly. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these videos.

    I have an old set of Covington two-row planters that I run with seed hoppers. When I got them I run two corn plates and two Bean or pea plates I have yet to change them they work on just about anything you plant. But you are so right about making sure your planter is adjusted to the tractor in order for it to work and plant properly. I believe you're the only one I've seen that shows you how to properly align adjust and set up a planter on TH-cam yet. Great job👍👍👍

    Couple of questions. 1. Where are you located (North Carolina)? 2. How do you apply fertilize to your corn and how much? I've been looking at replacing an older Cole corn planter that applies dry fertilize for each row (on a very imprecise basis) with one like you have here but most I have seen (like yours) do not have a fertilize bin. We used to broadcast fertilize before planting tobacco but my experience with corn was always better using sidedressers. Thanks.

      @ Jeep there are deere 7100 and 7000 planters with fertilizer bins. I think that is a 7100 could be a 7000. I run starter mix when planting then side dress nitrogen. I think side dressing the nitrogen saves on fertilizer. Just my opinion

    Hey I was looking to get the same planter. Any idea if an L3901 kubota will be able to plant with your planter? Specs say about 1200 lbs lift at 24 inches behind lift points.

    Hey i have a question about turn plows, i have a set of double 14 in international super chiefs and where your center pole hooks up, front and back on the plow itself, they are approx 2 1/2 in apart and the one to the back is lower just a tad, how will this affect the plowing?

    • @TheJohndeere466
      @TheJohndeere466 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use the hole closest to the front of the plow it will make the back of the plow cut deeper. If you use the other the hole it will make the back of the plow cut shallower. The idea is to get both bottoms cutting the same depth.

      Mtnfarmer can they be set for 36 inches? I have some really old Cole planters but I’ve been wanting to get some newer planters like these but I like planting 3 foot rows. Also, do these have plates that I can use to plant peas and beans?
