When I first watched Event Horizons, it litterally made the hairs iny neck stand on end. I was 18, heavily stoned and had not seen anything close to it.
The first time I saw it was during the midnight shift at the county jail where I worked. It was a Saturday night and nothing was going on so I was in the laundry facility doing a search for contraband alone. There was a T.V. for the inmate workers to watch so I turned it on and started watching and it was so good I couldn't stop. The thing that really made it creepy was that I was surrounded by huge commercial washing machines that had a very "Event Horizon" space ship vibe.... 😂
Some movies that could be added to the list are the fourth kind, signs, they live, the thing from another world, the blob, invaders from mars (1953+1986), forbidden planet, the forgotten, the day the earth stood still, dark city, saturn 3, critters, tommyknockers
@@mikemurphy5898 You sure? This is such a random list of horror films that involve aliens and/or take place in space. #1 in this list is Alien ..as it should be..still number1 in my book . I used to love "IT the terror for outer space" (similar plot) ..but Alien this was ..real.. Aliens was even more exciting!
Though I felt the list was really good, it stands to mention that "Fire in the Sky" was based on a true story. Those men suffered egregiously at the hands of critics, skepticism, and governmental naysayers. After the event, the remaining men were scrutinized by police, hounded by ufologists and had difficulty being gainfully employed again once it became apparent who they were for the rest of their lives, and certainly paid woefully in having their lives upended and mocked. We shouldn't minimize their truth to their recounting of the story. Also, Keith David Pitch Black 2000, Sanaa Lathan from AVP, Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne Event Horizon 1997, Trevante Rhodes in The Predator 2018, and John Boyega in Attack the Block are some notable actors, too. They were flexing their acting chops, each of them showing how diverse they were stepping into those roles (whether lead or supporting), proving they undeniably shine and they too are worth mentioning and given credit for what they brought platinum performances to their respective movies. 🙏🏾 ❤

@@mikelonnie9694 They don't, but the title of the clip is called Top 50 Space Horror Movies this is what I was referencing and the fact Sci/fi is science not space based seems to be lost on them, as my statement seems to be on you.
Coming up fast as a space horror cult classic is Lifeforce. That should definitely have made the list. Not to mention Forbidden Planet, It Came From Outer Space, Quatermas and The PIt, Night of The Living Dead, Android, the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Outland, Knowing, The Thing From Another World, Independence Day, The Blob, Horror Express, Men In Black, even some of the Star Trek movies. Looks like Marvellous Videos was asleep at the wheel.
It certainly is evident that these movies aren't ranked in any particular order, as "Alien" and "The Thing" are near the bottom of the list. ...and, "Forbidden Planet?"
what, no DREAMCATCHER ? .. Steven Kings adaptation of insidious space invaders and the bullied character 'Duddits' (saved and bonded to 4 guys) was a great story (..and certainly better than a good 30% of the other movies listed - imho)
A lot of great movies on the list although I think "Nope" (and Jordan Peele) is overrated, "Under the Skin" is artsy BS that a lot of people just watched to see Scarlet Johannsen naked and "Don't Look Up" is way too hamfisted.
A number of the plot summaries are, how shall I put this, 'not as I remember it'. Still I guess we now live in the era of 'my personal truth'. and 'my lived experience'.
Am I the only person that is questioning the inclusion of "Predators" on this list, "Event Horizon's" extremely low rank, and most of all, the Predator sequel "Prey" ranking higher than the original "Predator"? That part of the question borders on criminal imo.
A few months ago I saw the last 10 min of a show about an earth space ship with 3 guys I pilot 1 Co pilot and 1 guy who is an alien embassador. The earth was gonna get wiped out by a huge meteor 20 times the size of earth. Aliens have offered to help the earth they were waiting for their embassador. The copilot killed the pilot and the embassador and tried to make friends himself they new he killed their man so they let him watch earth get destroyed by this meteor.has anybody heard of this movie.think it's like an outer limits or something. Driving me nuts.
Truth be told. The list is okay. But also rather lazy as some of them i wouldn't call Sci-fi horrors. As much as Moon and Gravity can be very spooky, i certainly do not class them as horrors. Also, it feels like the list was just taken from a google search list and these where the top 50 movies they come up with. The research could have went a bit deeper.
Yes, for instance: Solyaris has some alienation in it, but ultimately it's a movie about (lack of ) communication and love. I wouldn't class it as horror.
In Pitch Black 3:18 they arenr 'stranded criminals', they are stranded SETTLERS. Big difference. 7:43 Sunshine: the missing crew is creepy bc the only thing to be found at first is about a billion skin cells floating in the air. Eventually they find the completely burned & human shaped ash 'bodies' and one head is broken off when meddled with, showing how absolutely dried to powder this crew is. It shows how badly one religious zealot can ruin anything man tries to do, such as save the human species. 8:21 Aliens. Youd better believe Ripley definitely does NOT 'readily' agree to check out LV-426.😅 10:22 Starship Troopers- did he say the bugs on Klendathu were 'evolved'?? 😆 Uuhh, no?

About (almost) the top 20 was a good selection, however it took a really wrong turn with that awful version of War of the Worlds right besides one of the ultimate classics Space Odyssey. After that mostly mindless stupid movies, sometimes not even horror either (Wandering Earth...), while classic Predator came way too low on the list (and below predators 2010 ???).

And a peace is established. But as allways Weyland-Yutani has spies that want the xenomorph for their biological weapon program. And it is a surprice who the spy is.
