dc seems pretty bikable at least in the national mall area

The mall is one of the least bikable places in DC, it’s not terrible but it’s busy and largely hasn’t been revamped. Once you get out of the tourist areas it’s much better. I’d say DC is up there with Portland in terms of bikability, and it’s improving fast since each road work now requires planners to add bike lanes or dedicated bus lanes.

Nice video. I love to watch the planes come in low at Gravely Point.

Is all that gravel bad for the tires?

Not for his. He is on a mountain bike with big tires so his bike has no issues at all on gravel or dirt. A road bike with thin tires would definitely have a hard time on that though

There're other parts of the city. Technically, the 'mall' isn't even part of 'Washington, DC' and a lot of this looked like you were mostly in Virginia.

The mall isn't in washington d.c.?

@@bikingmisadventures Like I said, 'technically.' It's Federally owned/operated. It's in the city but it's not 'technically' Washington, DC. There're other parts of the city besides the 'Mall.'
