I just ordered the variegated wayetti (kentiana?) on Friday, should be here this week and am very excited for it. BUT after seeing your heuschkeliana looks like I’m going shopping again
Yup Heuschkeliana variegated is on top for me too. Mine is a little spring cutting. Australia’s Lisa is on my must get list. Suzy Q has been ordered. My Krimson Queen was my first Hoya therefore my first love :).
I agree with you that the heuschkeliana is gorgeous and has more variegation ‘variety’ than others, however, if I could only keep one variegated Hoya it’d be my krimson queen, I love it! As for one that is not on your list, have you checked Hoya crassicaulis?.. 💚💚💚
I have to disagree on 2 points! (in my opinion) Hoya australis lisa 100% better than any kerii or compacta, at least, mine is currently flowering and I couldn't be more in love with it! And I don't think inner variegation is always nicer... i like a good balance of variegation and green. But great video nonetheless!
Surprisingly your top Hoyas are my least favorite 😅 while your least favorite are now my top Hoyas 😅! Been binge watching your content for a few days 😅! Keep up the good work! Love your anthurium video for beginners 💚🤩!
Really enjoyed this video and appreciate your "honest" comments . I've been looking for a Kerrii Variegated as it was one of those on the top of my list. Needless to say, it's moved down and others, up. Kind regards, Pam
Amazing video! I love seeing all these beautiful Hoyas. I’ve bought what I thought was variegated wayetti. It looks exactly like yours. Thank you for explaining the difference.
I love how you searched for more words to describe how beautiful the variegated H heuschkeliana is xD Cracked me up! And I can only agree with every word, it's my absolute favourite as well. Also, your hair looks amazing!
Well, I know few words for beautiful it seems 😂 But all your hoyas grew into such lovely plants 💚 Get more variegated hoyas so I can get them from you :D
I have my Hoya kentiana Variegata in semi hydro and it absolutely loves it. it always has new growth somewhere on it. I have started to propagate it so I can make a lusher pot. One of my favorites for sure
i love my krimson queen, so affordable, great for beginner, grows so well. i find australis lisa/ verticilata variegated similar to the carnosa counter parts as they have similar leaf shape. so unless the price is as low, i wont consider getting them. polynuera outer variegated is my ultimate unicorn plant!
🤔 Close between the Hoya Heuschkeliana variegated and the Hoya aff. Burtoniae variegated. Probably got names wrong but you know what I mean. I’m definitely not a Hoya specialist. I just love them. Hair looking good! Loved the video. 💚🌿🌱🪴💚
I think I prefer the flower on variegated sp.aff.burtoniae. The fuzzy leaves are a nice touch too! I think I will like it even more when it gets bigger.
I’ve noticed recently in Australia - Hoya heuschkeliana albomarginata has started appearing for sale. A bit pricey at the moment - so I shall wait. Thanks for another great video.
Hoya heuschkeliana is absolutely stunning and remains on my wish list. I am getting cuttings of lacunosa variegated…excited to find how it does. Of my current plants, I do adore my Hoya latifolia outer variegated and she grows like crazy!!! Hoya carnosa inner variegated is pretty cool too.
We have exactly the same taste in Hoyas! Your first 12 were the same as mine! And I also prefer, by far, inner variegation. Your heuschkeliana is indeed stunning! I recently bought one. Hopefully it grows fast for me. I really enjoyed this video.
"Don't voice it" That LITERALLY just happened with me and hoyas. Said they weren't really my thing. Decided to get just one for funsies. Now I NEED more.
The best one hour spent this morning❤ i have your #1, n both the yellow n pink. Ur #18 was my first variegated i bought. i do have one or two more from your list. i also have Incrassata inner variegated which is pretty.
I always try to wait to watch your videos, so I have something to listen to while I repot. I forget and then I don’t repot because I have nothing to watch LOL, a sad cycle of procrastination😅😂
Ah, I'm with you on No. 1. However, I just really find sp. aff. Burtoniae variegated rather distressing. It makes me feel uneasy. But heuschkelianas YES! I have a cutting of the opp. to yours as well and just find it 'alluring'! 💚
'Lori Lyn' is amazing. I adore my Krimson Princess and Australis Lisa. And the Argentea Princess. I am ready to get rid of my inner var. Kerrii now. Thank you for the information. Mine is green as well.
Ok - took a while to watch this and look up some of the hoyas, really enjoyed this video! My favorites are H. kentiana inner variegated, ( iv), H. Bella iv, and H. obovata iv. I agree, I also prefer the inner variegation. Leaning toward H. bella as #1. 🏆Since I am very restricted by finances and space, thank you for doing all the”test” growing, it has thankfully shortened my list down ! 😊🌱🌿
Yes, it got a bit too long 😂😂 I think inner variegated bella is a great choice, especially if you do well with bellas! It is definitely one I would pick too :D That and inner variegated heuschkeliana.
My favourites are the top 4 Hoyas and the Verticillata Inner Variegated. I love my Verticillata Inner Variegated and how pink the new stems are, such a gorgeous pink. Mine is growing really fast. Also my wishlist variegated Hoya is the Compacta Mauna Loa and I want it even more now I know it grows faster than the outer variegated Compacta 💚💚
I think inner variegated compacta won't disappoint you if you like compactas :) and I agree, inner variegated verticillata is so pretty! I think I will like it even more when it becomes a bigger & fuller plant.
I like variegated Hoyas, but there are a couple that I have that I wish I had the “splash” version, like kerrii and obovata. But I love the Lisa. Looooove her. I hope you can repair your relationship with her!
Great video and a great collection. My favourite is my Heuschkeliana Variegata and I also have both Bellas, I’m looking out for a Heuschkeliana Miao but they’re like gold dust
Love your videos as usual, the Heuschkeliana variegated is my favorite at the time, very easy going and a fast grower.. I just received a cuuting of the sp aff burtoniae variegated, i'm really excited to see it growing !
Pretty much my only variegated Hoya so far is the Australis Lisa. I think she's beautiful :) The outer variegated Latifolia (Makrophylla) is on its way to me, though. So I'll have two then. The other Hoyas of mine are the plain green versions and I love them. I am choosing them for the flowers rather than the foliage. I must say, though, I have a Krohniana Super Silver and its leaves ARE gorgeous. Most of them are fully silver, but I prefer the ones that have green mixed in. It is still very small, but already working on a peduncle :)
My Australis Lisa, Krimson Queen and Princess are faves as well as Kerrii albo, and Obovata splash also. Blooming now for me are Pubicalyx RHP, Krimson Princess, Obovata splash, Obscura, Polyneura, MultiFlora shooting star, and just found peduncles on the Shepherdii.
@@BasiePlants Thank you so much!!! I am collecting Hoya and currently have over 55 varieties. They are so special. I built them a massive greenhouse in my yard with heat for winter.
I was talking about inner varietated Hoya latifolia. That one I don’t have. They call it ‘Pot of Gold’. The one I have is also not very expensive here :) Maybe 10 euros for a small plant.
Hello Miro. I am so jealous of your heuschkeliana variegated. I just bought a cutting and propped it in moss for a few weeks then rooted and put it in pon, but when I noticed that the new growth shriveled and dried out, but the cutting was still good. I panicked and put it back in moss. What substrate do you have yours in or which is best for that hoya? Please help! 🙏
I have hoya incressata albomarinata and it is heavily variegated. Some of its leaves are all yellowish white and none is all green. It looks good. I have it in full bright light.
I am glad I got you hooked on them :D Hoya 'Sunrise' is a great choice! If you can't find that one, I would give obscura a go. You won't be disappointed :D
@@BasiePlants love your channel Miro. I have learned so much from watching your videos. I used to be a Hoya hater but being that I love plants, I decided to give some a try. 12 Hoyas later I can say that they have won me over. My faves are pubicalyx, sunrise, Mathilde and coronaria. Burmanica, heusc. Inner variegated and multiflora are definitely on the top of my wishlist.
I have 7 new Hoyas coming next week, anneke buis and heuschkiliana inner variegated are 2 of them. Burmanica, kroniana black, polyneura, anncajanoae and engleriana
its true that some hoyas actually need less light to get more variation. Can confirm that. Regarding the bella Luis Bois, I dont agree, its easier for me than the normal bella, less water dramatic and thicker leafs than normal bella but whats true is that is difficult to root. My cuttigs did but it took way longer than any of my other hoya cuttings
Did you ever get a Lori Lyn? Curious because I recently won a cutting and I can't find a lot of information about it. By info I mean the TH-cam and/or the first 3 results on Google.
Hi Miro, great video! I have the Hoya variegated kentiana (wayetii) ??? Mine was sold to me as the kentiana, but the variegated heuschkeliana is very stunning and will try to find one.....Can’t think of one that could rival your top pick!
I think they will all end up being kentiana :) I think you need variegated heuschkeliana too. I will have to challenge myself and find something even more gorgeous :D
I have the #4 hoya 36:16 as shown on your video. Can you please tell me why the leaves fold in and some are waving. The plant is healthy. Is it that it needs more water? Thx. 😢😊
Your Hoyas that are giving you issues that are not very happy try eggshell tea. I dry my eggshells and pulverize them into a powder. I use my ninja. Then I pour the powder in an empty milk jug and I keep it full of rainwater. Yes it stinks but Hoyas absolutely love it! Takes a couple days for calcium to start leaching into the water. When you run out of water fill it back up again just continue to let it sit. Try to keep the calcium eggshell powder at the bottom when you’re watering your plants. That way as you continue to fill with water each time you will still have egg cells that will supply calcium. I keep my jug out on my deck… I don’t want it in my house it stinks 😷 lol F.Y.I Anyone that tells you they put eggshells in their plants and they’re benefiting from it don’t know what they’re doing. Eggshells even crushed mixed in soil take at least a year to start breaking down into the soil. They’re useless.
How am I just finding your videos? I’m mad at TH-cam now. Been holding out on me. Love that you’re not boring and seem like you are just rehearsing your plant knowledge! Much love from a Hoya hoe! Lmao
Is Hoya verticillata outer variageted the same as Hoya archboldiana outer variegated? Would be great if you could do a video of Hoyas that have changed names and sold as different Hoyas … same same, but different/not different
Hi there I am hoping a reply about hoya retusa. My retusa is getting yellow leaves and leaves drop. I think due to extremely hot temperatures. Where I live the temperature is around 45 Celsius. Is it due to temperature?
I was wondering how I suddenly ended with 10 Hoyas when I kept saying I didn’t like them … then I said I didn’t care about variegated Hoyas … now I have like 6
If you can order from Thailand there is a seller there that sells pot of gold. Hillina Hoya Garden I believe is the name. I just ordered from her and I’ll let you know the quantity of the plants
One is seriously burdened upon discovering that their ancient Hoya has a zillion variations on the theme, each with intrigue and built-in serendipity... ten now. There's no stopping this, is there?🥴
Well, I would like to know if I have a kentiana or if it is a wayetii mine is that inner variegation. So how do you tell the difference? It was sold to me as hoya wayetii and I did even know it was variegated until I received it.
What's the best way to 're root the hushkliniana verigarta? My cuttings got root rot. I also have the inner verigated kerrii nd the seller told me that it's just the new leaves that mainly have it. It's growing a 2 new leaves and would love a splashy one. X
I am glad that seller was honest with you! You can root variegated heuschkeliana in pon (and propbox), in water, or in a light potting mix (for example, a seedling mix), ina propbox. You can also root it in moss :) All work well, as long as the potting mix is not too tightly packed.
Love love this video! I love my sp aff burtoniae so now I need to find a variegated one! Love seeing your variegated babies and glad I’m not the only one w that relationship with kerrii 😂
I hate that the compacta has gotten that reputation for being a pest maginet😕 or maybe it's just the fear of having to deal with pests on it if it DOES get them🤔 either way, it's really too bad because its such a unique and beautiful plant and as long as I've had them (about 5 years) I've NEVER experienced any pest infestation on any of them! That may just be luck, but I really think that as long as your compacta (or ANY plant ) doesn't already have a pest when you buy it and you clean and inspect them just as you do with all of your plants, then you really have nothing to worry about! 👍💚
I prefer innervariegated carnosa (Krimson Princess) to outer variegated one. I didn't include splashy/ silver ones here as I think of that as different type of variegation :) And I don't have the carnosas :) I just talked about plants I have :D
Which variegated hoya do you like best?
hoya heuschkeliana variegata🖐️
Which is not in my collection yet, but once I get it, maybe the taste will change🥴 💐

Hi there I am hoping a reply about hoya retusa. My retusa is getting yellow leaves and leaves drop. I think due to extremely hot temperatures. Where I live the temperature is around 45 Celsius. Is it due to temperature?
I just bought a variegated Heuschkeliana about a month ago. The leaves are thin, almost papery. Do they have thin leaves?
Anch'io non amo le variegature nelle Hoya...ma alcune con piccole foglie mi hanno affascinata❤
I was wondering how I suddenly ended with 10 Hoyas when I kept saying I didn’t like them … then I said I didn’t care about variegated Hoyas … now I have like 6
Right? :D I kept saying I don't like them, I don't like them, and here we are xD
If you can order from Thailand there is a seller there that sells pot of gold. Hillina Hoya Garden I believe is the name. I just ordered from her and I’ll let you know the quantity of the plants
One is seriously burdened upon discovering that their ancient Hoya has a zillion variations on the theme, each with intrigue and built-in serendipity... ten now. There's no stopping this, is there?🥴
I LOVE my Cornosa princess! But can’t wait to find Australis Lisa.
I like australis ‘Lisa’ but it’s not mutual love it seems 😅
Well, I would like to know if I have a kentiana or if it is a wayetii mine is that inner variegation. So how do you tell the difference? It was sold to me as hoya wayetii and I did even know it was variegated until I received it.
They say all of those now are most likely kentiana 🤷♀️
The camera did pick up the green on green, some Hoyas grow like that.
@@BasiePlants thanks I have them in water at the moment they r slowly getting roots (1 more then the other) x
Zdravo Miro! If you ever plan to sell a cutting of your Hoya sp. aff. burtoniae (inner variegated)... I'm right here. 😁
😍😍😍
💚💚💚
I would only have a Hoya plant that has a strong agreeable fragrance
How about Hoyas Crimson Queen/Princess or Publicalix?
I prefer innervariegated carnosa (Krimson Princess) to outer variegated one. I didn't include splashy/ silver ones here as I think of that as different type of variegation :) And I don't have the carnosas :) I just talked about plants I have :D
Why do I not have the variegated Burtoniae !!??? So pretty.
I think you should get it! :D
Me too! I'm searching for it now...lol
Oh i was the opposite, i only want to collect variegated hoyas, now 90% of my collection are the non variegated 😅😆🤣
