Too good… A drop of tear came in when Dr Shekar Pathak mentioned that the communities are not aware that they have lost a tradition even though many of them have got well settled. I just thought through the same, in the race of newer lives we are in race to move to Urban clusters losing our tradition and culture.
You got to the precise POINT... It's emotional and touching, but very few realize it, I can I have lived the whole of my life in a big and modern city.
I am from haldwani and like most my parents to migrated from pahad so to provide us better education and for better health care facilities, do you know in haldwani be have "Johar mahautsav" its celebrated by bhotiya people its like a cultural fair, they serve there traditional food and dance and everything all people are invited and are free to come, haldwani has all type of kumaoni communities from johar valley to almora every type of kumaoni person is here and we have good ammount of bohotiya settlement thanks to that i have many bhotoiya friends as well, even though we all miss our pahad dearly, sometimes i feel that Haldwani serves as a melting point of all kumaoni culture and all different communities become friends and get to know each other is one of the positive and delightful side of the coin, a thing which allows me to see positive in this city when I sadly and angrily criticize govt for not developing our villages and distroying our culture the anger also become directed towards the city I myself am from

As a person from Shuaka community, I would like acknowledge it is the finest documentry on our tribe I came across. Well words put together! Also I would correct slight mistake that Ralam valley culturally and linguistically diffrent to Shuakas. The inhabitants of that valley are resisded by rung tribe. They share more similarities with Rungs from Darma and had high altitute trek routes that connected Darma valley. Also Ralam valley is not considerd as part of malla Johar valley. Besides Jad bhota, the Rung tribe has retain some form Buddhist and bon practises. They also have lamas and buddhist chapels. Although the numbers are miniscule but they still exists today. Few members of rung community have revived buddhist traditions.
Thankyou very much! And, while Ralam is culturally distinct from Johar as you mentioned, the village does come under Johar, at least administratively, because the access to the village is orders of magnitude easier from Johar valley than Darma, the physical barrier between Ralam and Darma is huge.
This just mesmerised me completely!!! I have been longing to go to milam for so many years but not been able to do it. I have been thinking for many years that I will contact you soon
Bhut achi information di h bhai 🎉 keep it up 👍
This is soo beautiful and immersive.. very simple and elegant... Great work 👏
This is most welcome important documentary stories to preserve and high time to pass on new generations.
Thank you so much!!!
I was a few still living Tibetans, originally from Taklakot , Tibet. We experienced terrible hardships of refugee lives in early sixties in a camp called SANDEO near by Didihat.
Appreciate if you could kindly provide some such stories books.
Thank you again.
Plz document your parent's memories 🙏🏻
Born and brought up in Pithoragarh, I had lot of bhotiya friends but I didn't know the history. Thanks for enlightening us. Hats off
Too good, haven't watch such beautiful & well narrated with ton of information
Rajput ka matlab ye nahi ke aap bahar se aaye ho. Uttarakhand ke khas log hamesa se kashtriya mane jate the
Rajput hamare purvaj the hm nahi
True , shaukas are more close to kumaonis, we are kumaoni ,even language is same just a little different dialect , culture, rituals in marriage is same as typical kumaoni
the only difference is that we have mongoloid look ❤
I only recently travelled extensively in those regions because of my best friend being a Shauka Toliya. Haven’t done the trek through the valley yet but have visited Munsiyari multiple times. Heard a lot of stories about the culture but this documentary just explained everything in a crystal clear manner. Beautifully made! Thank You for sharing and explaining this beautifully rare cultural heritage to us non-Uttarakhandis. Stunning and mysterious are two words that come to my mind when I think of that region. Hope to do the trek to Milam this year. Keep up the good work brother.
Thanks
I'm from Kerala and learnt about magnificent Uttarkhand from your detailed yet compact TH-cam videos, Harshit ji. As #utopiadream242 has posted, it takes a lot of effort, persistence and patience to compile something like this. Thanks for giving me a better understanding of Uttarkhand. I'm very grateful that my curiosity was answered in such a splendid fashion 🙏🏾

Johar Valley in Munsiyari is a scenic and culturally rich place. It is known for its stunning landscapes, quaint villages and the vibrant culture of the Johari people. The valley offers a mesmerizing backdrop with snow-clad peaks, lush green meadows and Milam Glacier that adds to its charm. Thank you so much for describing the Johar Valley (Bhotiya tribe) so beautifully. If you have specific questions or need more information, feel free to ask 🤗 LOVe From Munsyari Hills 🙏

Hello 🙏🏻🌿🌿✨ I totally admire your work. When we study History in schools, the Northern mountain people history is not taught. I'm sure very less percentage of Indians know the History of Northern mountains. It's a great effort that We come to know about such facts of Himachal and Uttarakhand history. I'll always look forward for more such topics. GREAT WORK 👍🏻👍🏻✨✨🙏🏻
Thankyou!
