    My interest in the sweeper is not for leaves but for sticks and acorns. Can you tell me how it does for sticks and acorns ? -- Or is leaves really the main intended use ? Thanks for the video.

    Good job! I see you pull the sweeper at a slower rate them most, which is suggested to make it not only last longer, but do a better job!

    I'd like to see how it does with pecans. I have a small 4 acre pecan orchard and this would sure beat hand picking with a Nut Wizard

    Looks like it works great,if you use it for grass clippings, remember that that grass will get hot if left in the bag.

      @FarpointFarms  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was going to maybe mow one day, let the grass dry for a day or two, scoop it up and toss it into the fenced areas for the birds and goats.

    I have the Ohio Steel lawn sweeper, it picks up a 50 inch path. if you have mulching blades on your tractor, you can pick up 2 to 3 times as many leaves before its time to dump them. makes great mulch for the garden, grass and leaves. had mine 5 years and its still working great. too bad you dont have your GT52XLS anymore.

      Instead of this bulky expensive tedious piece of equipment that w was designed in 1940, have you ever considered using a leaf blower to remove your leaves? It’s awesome! It does it in 10% of time it takes to use this!!!!🤦‍♂️

    New camera looks great. Too bad "THE FARM MANAGER" won't let you touch it yet!! Unless of course the new tri pod has legs that walk? LOL. Hard to believe how green it still is there. We are half way thru our colour change up here. Being as close as we are to Lake Erie we don't use leaf rakes. We wait till the wind changes off the lake and away it goes. Leaves. Garbage cans. Lawn furniture. Small children. Still waitin fir that farm tour vid!! 73s from our farm to yours.

    Only gripe I have on those is the fabric degrades over time and tears away. Useful as long as it holds up.

    Debating on getting one of these but I don't have "land". Just moved and have a yard now and front lawn in suburban area lol. Any other recommendations for a smaller yard if not this?

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This would actually work great for a 1 acre or less property. On a lawn that size something like this with the dethatcher installed would make for one pretty lawn.

  • @brentjohnson6654

    Good video. New sub here. I used to have a cub cadet 42” sweeper. It was effective. I didn’t like having to go back over the lawn once it was mowed but it did kick up the grass and leaves pretty well. I am looking for a poor mans hay baler too

    • @FarpointFarms

    Interesting, both with the product and the video quality, my phone, or at least the phone plan I'm on I'm pretty sure only allows for 720p max but it topped off right at 720p instead of say topping off at 480p like it normally does. As for the bag, I think this May have been one of the 1st times I've actually seen one of these actually operating, I think everyone I've seen has since been presumably abandoned and hasn't been used in some time. I mean, the bag itself doesn't usually look tattered and the main body itself doesn't look worn out or anything, but like I said, this is about the 1st time I've seen one of these things actually operating. Have you ever heard of Dr leaf vac? A friend of my grandfather on my dad's side actually bought a Dr leaf vac probably about 3 or so years ago and has used it for his lawn since I think it was arthritis had since started setting in. I'm not sure if it was because of arthritis or not that he got the leaf vac, but, yeah.

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Dr. leaf blower attachment uses a second engine to literally suck the stuff up off the lawn. Very cool, but much more $$.

    • @morganrussman
      @morganrussman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FarpointFarms yeah, true. With the Dr leaf vac, at least with the Dr leaf vac that my grandfathers friend got has a attachment that has the hose attach to the mower deck. But yeah, like you said, that is just that much more in fuel cost, But it does cut/chop/grind the leaves up and get debately more in a single load before having to dump.

    • @hardkore360
      @hardkore360 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, learned my lesson after 1 year of messing with raking leaves, picking them up... yada yada yada... you mulch them, and the soil will eat up the bits during the fall and winter... PROBLEM SOLVED and you help your lawn with nutrients.

    • @hardkore360
      @hardkore360 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Chevy BelAir if more folks would mulch them we wouldn't have all the damn landfills littered with bags full of damn leaves... urgh RANT OVER, CARRY ON lol...

    Would be nice if you answered people's questions.. How well does work on picking up grass clipping?? Not that you'll answer my question, but maybe someone else will... I probably won't be watching anymore of your vids if you can't answer at least some of the questions people have..

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First, and I hope you can grasp the shear number of comments I receive daily. It's well over 300 a day at this point. 300. That makes it a full time job just to answer comments. Does that help you understand? I hired a second person to help. Now we answer about 80% of comments. As for this unit? It's perfect for grass as you can see in part 3 or 4 where I use it to pick up grass to feed to my livestock. Years later it's still working and it's main use is to catch grass to use as feed.

    • @speedbuggy7240
      @speedbuggy7240 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FarpointFarms sorry for being a little rough on you, but I scrolled threw the comments to see if someone else asked my question and I seen that you didn't answer any questions. I totally understand the amount of questions you get and I don't blame you for not answering all of them, but answering one or two I wouldn't think would be to much. But I least I got your attention and a response. 🙂 Thank you. I really appreciate it.. BTW, the reason I watched your vid was because I found that exact lawn sweeper on Fb and wanted to know if it was worth it. I got ahold of the guy and I'm going to buy it. Thanks.

    I just purchased the Brinly STS-422BHDK tow behind lawn sweeper. The unit does a great job, but don't look for any service from the customer support. The best I can say is they suck! and it gets worse from there. I did like the instructions told me. Followed them to the letter. JUNK The height adjuster 4:09 fell off my unit after the second use and the customer support wont answer my questions or provide me how to purchase the parts lost.

    Does not work for pine straw, works great on regular leaves. Pine straw wraps around the brush and locks the wheels up after a single pass across the lawn.

    It takes half the work if you use the lawn sweeper at the same time you're mowing. None of you folks doing demos of lawn sweepers seem to get that.

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My size yard I would have to dump it every pass. Leaf season it is more than that

    • @garymolina1394
      @garymolina1394 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FarpointFarms You have to dump the clippings in any case. If you sweep after mowing, you're driving twice as far and working twice as long. If your working that hard, you might as well bale it and sell the hay.
