latency is how fast ‘each’ packet (regardless of any size) can arrive arrive to their destination and back. Bandwidth it how fast the ‘total amount of data can get to their destination. In certain, situations where data amount is not as important because the packets are relative small, (like gaming or live streaming) so you want the packet to arrive in their destination as fast a possible. Hence, latency is more important than JUST total bandwidth. While distance factors in speed because speed = distance/time, Cable inherently not as fast as fiber. Therefore even if a cable service says their bandwidth very high because the large amount data of fast as a whole.., their latency is horrible and generally bad for gaming or live streaming…
