This is the legendary registration with Karajan in 1972, with Vishnevskaya..never the voice of Ghiaurov was so awesome and big, unsurpassed..I agree with Bodiloto though as the voice of Ghiaurov was softer,darker,much more beautiful "live"..no accent, absolutely in adequacy with the role..he IS Boris in every respect! What astonished me most when I heard him was his ability to melt his voice with the cello's sound..the voice was so big and rich that to register it was a sort of "gageure"..for me the BEST version ever!!!!

Questa non è la vera voce di Ghiuarov,è ovvio ! Dal vivo Ghiaurov aveva una voce meravigliosa pastosa molto più bella e scura,aveva una ottima voce del Basso cantante vero. Era davvero impressionante di sentire in quest'anni la sua voce dal vivo. I tecnici del suono che hanno realizzato questa registrazione per me sono dei entusiasti puri,per non dire dei dilettanti. Questa registrazione non rende giustizia,è di pessima qualità.
