  • This little baby banded leaf monkey was found alone near to forest edge. Probably fall off from her mother. A good samaritan found her and took her to the authority. Now she is taken care by a group of vets and wildlife lover in a good wildlife facilities.

    Man, the mortality rates for mothers of insanely cute rare baby monkeys must be like 99%.
    I’m sure it’s not because people are killing them, I mean that would be absurd.

I hope he can be put with a surrogate monkey mom but if there's so few left of his species I guess that isn't very likely? Where was his habitat? (Country? State? City?)
    What was his fate? What was ultimately done with him? Hopefully not sold for profit (most likely the case if poached) any update on him currently?

    They did give her surrogates, oe the stuffed animal and rolled up towel, but she doesnt seem to care. In that case she should be sorta surounded by a clumpy blanket with the thing to cling to against her chest. Not swaddled, but more like how those rescuers did for Baby Charlotte the rhesus on Arroz channel. Unlike human infants they need to feel like theyre being held at all times or become permanently traumatized, and that is the biggest factor over whether they will become nuts. Seriously all those baby monkey pets you see on here acting problematic (usually macaques), thats why. Its not fixable. Early signs are constant crying, geckering and thumbsucking, and it is not like a human baby for which thats not a big deal. For monkeys its a sign of impending permanent neurosis. The solution, UNLIKE WITH HUMANS is more physical security in the form of clinging to owner, or surrogate but within a foot or 2 of owner. They cannot be left alone in a playpen like a human baby while you go make dinner. Baby monkeys are probably the most difficult animal to provide for effectively bcus they need *constant* attention; they evolved so mom carries them everywhere for quite a few mos never setti g them down except within contact or a few inches away for a few minutes. Anything else is experienced as a true threat to their survival, they know it by instinct, a wild animal can be tame ie fed, see you as mom etc it cant be domesticated ie wolves comes with instincts dogs dont have. Any wild animal you care for, you must fulfill its instincts thru simulation of nature, thus the teddies and towels for baby monkeys to cling to like mom. Instincts cannot be out-taught, theyre inherent, unlike say, monkeys foraging or social which is taught. You either provide what they need, or you get an annoying fucked up monkey.

      AMEN & THANK YOU!
      I am so sick of people being annoyed & pushing their poached baby monkey away & then getting mad when baby screams! It's like...OMFG asshole...YOU are causing it & you should do some research before taking on ANY new pet! I researched Chinchillas for 2 months before I got 1 & 3 months before I got sugar gliders! I have watched & read up on macaques, especially Pigtails, for almost a year because I really want 1. But the big thing I have learned is that no matter how much I watch or learn, baby macaques are a LOT of work to care for them properly & any mistakes cause big problems for the macaque.
      I want a baby girl pigtail very much...but I learned that I don't know enough to do right by them. Hopefully 1 day I will feel ready & hope that I can get a female that is an orphan because of natural reasons, like mom died during delivery.
      Thank you for your informed comment! 💋 I'm so tired of people just bitching out their asses! Nite!

    @jeanmobray6964 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    If this baby just fell, mom would have gotten it. Unless a human got it first. Which appears to have happened, otherwise you would not have it to make this video. The wild monkey poaching and trafficking is at such a ridiculous level, increased because of the TH-cam video market. Because of that I am only believing that a monkey was rescued when I see it arriving at a legitimate rescue and rehab organization that is non-internationally for its work. Otherwise I'm a lift to believe that you are nothing more than another person who is profiting on the backs of these tiny monkeys.

      You don't even know . Monkeys are becoming extinct because in other countries alot get shot out of the trees, and the land is being taken they don't have alot of forest to live in and that is called development in some eyes. But in the u.s. you have to buy from a breeder . A person that is making more of them before they are gone. Yes they make money but these things are expensive to raise also and to breed care for etc. Some of you need to get your facts straight before you speak. I have a squirrel monkey and he lives his life. He hates to go outside . I leave his cage open all day and he goes in and out . He loves his cage he loves to play with us and he knows what a diaper change means and a bottle means when I say them. He can do other things also. But he was bought from a breeder . That's what they do and are making them hopefully not become extinct. There are only 5000 of these type I have left in the world . That's not many . We treat him like a spoiled baby . Why is it o.k. to breed horses cows dogs cats etc ans not Ok to breed monkeys ? It is sadder to see a dog pinned up daily outside with no one paying any attention to them . How horrible to be on a chain.

      @@rodneystephens8859 Ok first of all I never said a macaque I said the kind I own which is a squirrel monkey. They are notorious for falling out of trees . Breeders are what is keeping them going. There are 5000 of them left in the world. Breeders make money just like any animal breeder does and that's fine with me. They should get paid for their work. And I know there are alot of crooked people in this world but I am not talking talking about them. I know also farmers in other countries besides u.s. pay to have monkeys Shot out of their trees as they are eating all their crops. So with that being said I think anyone should understand that also. And if a baby is orphaned and they sell it I can't help that . You may think you see alot of these videos but in reality most are the same dishonest people from other countries. I see alot of same people in their videos with different monkeys. I can't solve their problems. I can how ever own my squirrel monkey and give him the best home I can. My monkey prefers his cage I leave it open to my whole house and he will just go back in alot and play . He is very clumpsy he falls all the time if he was in the wild in a tree he would of died by now. Alot of moms do reject their babies also. I had a horse reject hers and the baby ended up dieing . He didn't get his first milk from her he needed cause she refused to let him nurse and he died. Same thing happens to monkeys . And sometimes a mother won't have milk or the mother dies during birth etc. I do not condone hurting them in any way I just believe it is my right to own one . And it is not illegal to own a squirrel monkey I got from a breeder. Maybe if found in the wild but not where I got mine . I have the legal paperwork on mine and the permit . And like I said only 5000 left in the wild . And who said this was a macaque monkey , because it is not ?

    I personally don't think that "good hands" would film a little monkey when it's obviously in such distress, let alone upload it to TH-cam. How did THAT help or benefit that animal in any way? Oh but it "raised awareness." Surely THAT is worth this animals unnecessary terror! Not to the monkey. They could've filmed the little one when it was sleeping, or being fed, nice and content. Film a quick minute. No big deal. No, they intentionally film it when it's panicking and terrified. I wonder WHY they did that?!? 🤔🤔🤔🙄😤🤬

    • @jeanmobray6964
      @jeanmobray6964 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      But you can't just do that. Monkeys have a very complex social structure and a stranger monkey can't just drop by and be accepted. Actually it's quite likely that a stranger monkey drops by is going to be killed or injured very badly. At this point since it was removed from the area where its mother could rescue it, if in fact it fell from a tree but I bet it fell from a tree after his mom was shot in the head. So now it has one chance. It must go within the next couple of days to a legitimate monkey rescue and rehab. Not something that's in somebody's house. Quite honestly if it doesn't go there it's likely to die very soon. The only baby monkeys that have been rescued are the ones that we see arriving at a real rescue in rehab place with a real actual vet coming out to the vehicle to meet the baby and then it being taken into the facility. The facility has a real vet or will have one on call to examine and treat the baby. Then it will be given to a human that acts as a foster until it gets out of the nursery. At that time it is integrated with monkeys It's on age and there are human caregivers there in the enclosure with them. The goal is to move them from this enclosure as quickly as possible into one where they will start to be introduced to monkey foster moms. The goal being that one of the mothers will decide to pick up the baby and care for it. Only then does it have a chance to be an integrated into the troop under her care.

    These ones live for days maybe a week or two in captivity. It’s so sad. Macaques are way more likely to survive, but none should be poached from their mothers womb

    Sorry baby monkey I can see the fear in your eyes. Instead of being held and fed 20 hours a day your going to be repeatedly washed for the camera. Then put in a diaper that will cause you pain from rashes that will never go away. Still even when your begging and crying you will not be held. Then you will be dressed in human baby clothes and taught to walk bipedal or be punished. Still you will not be held. You will become a chew toy for the new puppy just so the kids can laugh while you Scream and cry for your life and still you will not be held. Monkey and human babies share one thing most mammals don't they can and will die if not touched and given affection think about that as you leave this baby in a cage when in the wild this young would be held for 20 hours wonder why all these TH-cam baby monkees die all the sudden it not always hitting then alot its just doing nothing.

    My kind is not endangered European animal Care will tell you that my kind is not in danger basically one either they're going to fix this little critter and turn him back into the woods or you're going to put a chain around his neck and say for sale and nine times out of 10 that's what most people do because if this little failure goes to the United States he's going to be loved cared for going to the vet and he's going to love his human mommy and daddy more than his own mama and that's just the fact on that s*** but no they're not endangered that's a crock now the black ones that are solid black with their nose that go a little bit higher up on their four on their middle where their eyes are those black ones I can see where those are endangered but that little filler right there in the cage know he's not in danger that style even the macaws are not in danger my guy go to the buy India there's 2 million there go to Vietnam oh my God go to China or Japan they're selling them over there go to China they're doing the same s*** endangered my ass

      If the baby did fall from the tree, the humans probably scooped her up before the mother could come down. Or the mother is dead or disabled

      @@barraindymacneil6256 Nope! This kind of monkeys and howler monkeys don’t pick up their offsprings if they fall. It doesn’t matter if people are around or not. Long tails, pig tails and mountain monkeys do pick up their babies. And they do that fast when people are around. They only have a different behavior when it comes to their offspring.
