A Better Route Planner is a great navigation Planner targeting EV travel. I have no affiliation with them and it can be found at abetterrouteplanner.com or at the Google Play Store.
Cool video, can you do an update with live data from an OBD2 adapter? ABRP should support that for free and premium users and you wouldn't have to manually adjust state of charge settings in the app. It'll also update based on how you drive. I understand your frustration with the Kia navigation system, but honestly who really uses built-in navigation in cars? Android Auto/Apple CarPlay with Google Maps, Waze, etc. is far better and more up to date than nearly all in-car nav systems. Hopefully in the near future, EV route planning with battery percentage estimations will be rolled into Google Maps. It's already present in Google Maps embedded in Android Automotive OS cars like Polestar 2 and GM's new Ultium Cars (Lyriq and Blazer EV).
there is a video on Ioniq 6, they are implementing a "Route Guidance" with recommended charging plan. I'm hoping they will update current EV6/I5 with this feature as they pretty much has the same Nav system.
I voice everyone’s concerns, I’m thinking of buying the Gt model, a lot of money and shame on Kia for not doing route planning, so advanced in a lot of ways and yet backwards in others
It is annoying that you have to find the charging stations manually, but I believe it should be OK if you filter for charger networks and toggle the name and distance. Then you should be able to find the station named in ABRP. Or of course move the cursor on the map and then select "Near center of map". But yes, it's annoying. Hope it will be improved in a later update.
I harp on this only as it is a really important feature for majority of drivers that are driving an EV for the first time. Someone who is hesitant to buy an EV, buys one and ends up with a dead battery in middle of nowhere is going to be really upset probably sell EV, and never look back. Yes, user fault, but if car could have guided better so it didn't happen would be better.
I don't see a way to expand it to the full screen. You can add a split screen so that the right side shows something more interesting than the android auto logo. I uploaded a video showing that functionality.

Get yourself an OBD ble Bluetooth adapter so that it gets live data on battery level from the car
That is my plan, the interface to adjust manually is painful
@@cyberzev Good plan! OBD with ABRP works very well in my EV6 AWD. Greetings from Germany... 🙂

I have a veepack obd II but it doesn't work with the EV6. ABRP sees the dongle but step 2 it crashes. i can connect all to evnotify .

The car should do this for how much it costs. They should make an update to include a route planner.

@Everything_in_between Yes hopefully 🙏.

Very helpful video. Thank you. Also, based on where you are starting your trip I’ll just assume you are a Cardinals fan! #stlfly!
Anyway to expand into full screen of Android Auto?

I uploaded a video showing that functionality.
That functionality just became available on the ioniq 5 in the form of a software update so I assume the Ev6 will get it too.
The latest Navigation Update in US (Apr 28) offers this, I made a video how to install.
@@Yubuzka3774 yes, just came out for EV6 in US too, made the video like the day before :)
Agree on Kia Navi. Useless. And their customer service and dealers know zip about evs.
