@@mathprodigy yes hypothetically, except that players would more than likely be sharing cards from the board in that case. In this case both players used both of their hole cards
Straight Flush losing to a Royal Flush is even more improbable -- 1 in 46,905,957,888. Has it ever happened in a tournament? There would have to be four of the five R F cards -- 10 J Q K -- on the board, with one guy holding the nine, the other guy holding the ace.
@@FloydMaxwell I have witnessed a straight flush lose to a royal flush. 4 cards were on the board so it wasn’t totally unexpected but the guy who lost got up and walked out of the bar without saying a word. He was pissed!
@@FloydMaxwellAbout 10 years ago I was gambling on a popular poker site and I had a straight flush to the king. Went all in and the opponent called with a royal flush.
For real 🤣 First of all saying "gamble" and then go all in, in any situation would be a poor way of trying to avt weak and 99 times out of 100 means the exact opposite... Second of all, doing it on the river with no more cards to be dealt (which means yo can't have a draw to "gamble" on) is insanely poor.. dudes like that deserves bad beats like this.. 🤣
@@Sashinator0I heard it took them over 100 tries and players were getting very annoyed. So the casino comped the table a lot of stuffs for the trouble
One time at the casino my opponent had a straight flush 9-K and I had the royal flush (I had the ace, he had the 9, the rest were on the board). He was the one who pushed all his chips in, then he got the good news.
That’s misleading tho. He said these are the odds of both a royal and quad aces happening in the same hand. So if you already have quad aces, the odds of your opponent having a royal are much better - but obviously still tiny in an overall scale.
@@YoshiBugatti they're right, it is a cooler it'd be a bad beat if the cards were known prior to the board being complete same result just two different terms for how they get there
one of the single dumbest things i've ever read, if you'd fold quad aces here please come play at my regular table you always shove here and if you get coolered so be it, that's just how it goes, but folding here would be the worst play possible and you'd just be taken advantage of heavily in the long term playing like such a nit like seriously if you "put the guy on a royal" and fold quad aces here then lol you need to find a new hobby because poker is not for you

This 1000% is the best/worst bad beat of all time. Adding Ray Romano and the WSOP makes it by far the best!

There's video of one somewhere on TH-cam

The cameras never captured it as it happened. ESPN asked them to recreate it which is why the acting is so bad
