Buggy powersliding and donuts down the farm in Pingelly WA, love the turbo whistle. Note this vid is un edited from camera so I appologise for shaky bits.
@duhastmech There is no such thing as a 302C in the U.S. but in AUSTRALIA THERE IS! When the cleveland tooling was brought to Oz in the early 70's it was deemed not cost effective to have different engine families to provide two different displacements. So Ford Australia made a new 3" stroke cleveland crank and longer 6.03" rods which allowed the use of std. 351 pistons. They also cast small chamber heads for this purpose in 2V size only...these are sort after and exported to the U.S. in fact.
you are one lucky bloke:) all v8 for the WIN! lol on the subaru:D its the only car ive ever had that NEVER breaks down, it is very slow but its for trails (lifted on fozzy suspension, 27 inch mud tyres, wrx brakes, upgraded 4.11 gears and LSD & trans from a 2.5 rs,) modded everything but the engine, i use it to pull trucks out of the ditch in winter:) i live in the arctic so the supra see's 4 months out of the garage a year:(
Subaru!? I feel sorry for you mate!:) Supra should be your daily! My daily driver is an '04 Pursuit which is basically the ute version of a GT. So 290kw 5.4 but I've modified it for about 350kw. Just picked up a Vortech S-trim kit for it too. I'm also building an EFI 351w/4R70w powered '93 Range Rover and there's an S-code '69 XR7 Cougar that I'm taking forever to build in the shed. My wife also has a '94 5.0L Falcon daily driver so we're now a V8 only family...the way it should be! Cheers.
I live in america, for now, and when i first got here i HAD to have a classic american v8 car. so ive had a couple trucks, a 94' camaro z28, and 2 mustangs (84' fox body, and a 01' gt) the 84' mustang was my fav as it had a swap from the previous owner to a 351w with some very aggressive cams. they were more fast than fun lol, now i have a n/a 84' supra straight 6, doesnt sound as good but runs like silk. but my dd's are subarus and always will be:)
@FIXR7 To continue... Australian engineers realised the 4V port size was too big and from around '74/75 all "4V" engines(both 302 and 351) were in fact 2V port sized using a 4 barrel intake they designed with 2V port sizes. Btw the 302C rod is now sort after for long rod 351 conversions of which the aftermarket makes a short compression height piston for. I've built a couple of these in fact. 4.9L and 5.8L Clevelands as they were known, were produced in Australia right up to around '85.
Your welcome Prodriver, Yeah they're pretty good. We had a nice Mandarin(a really nice metallic orange) coloured '04 BA XR6T. It lasted about 12K before some asshole drove up it's ass with a 4WD. After it was fixed(badly) we traded it on an '05 BA mk2 GT which has the 290kw 5.4 4V engine...I loved that car and have to say I'd still rather have a V8 than the 6.
Who cares how many turbos it has, or what country your from, or how much he uses that same corner (would you want to be the camera guy, and have to walk to a bunch of corners?). The big picture is; that Buggy is B/A, you know you wish you could get in it and tear it up.
thank you for the correction:) i didnt know they were single turbo, one of the great engines i think, and it would be AMAZING to put one in a mustang in america! it would be a huge education for any american who saw it and asked about it, also a great supra killer:)
@SUPERstang1991 you are SO WRONG 351M is hi deck like 400 M ,a variation on clevland . 351 cleveland is a unique engine,302 c is destroked 347 aussie clev , windsor is high deck version of 302/289 if thats all you know , stick with a wimpy bowtie
my point is, that the R.H.D. and gumtrees are pretty big pointers that it's NOT America! it clearly says Pingelly, a farm town 160 kilometers north east of my home-town (100 miles for all you non metricised!)
@bigtone351 There is no such thing as a 302C. The closest thing to what your talking about is the "Boss" 302,4 bolt main with 351C heads. And the 351C had several different heads, the 2v, 4v, and and cobrajet.
Well actually it's a single turbo but yes, DOHC 24V 4.0L turbo Intercooled straight six. The base model had 240kw but they are now 270kw in std form and 310kw for the F6(FPV version).
I would like a link, I have searched everywhere and come up with nothing. Just a 302 Windsor, that was made in Windsor Ontario Canada. Not in Australia.
I stand corrected. After a LOT of searching I found out that yes there is a 302c. I had to contact a friend a Ford, and he told me the specs. Couldn't believe it. Here in the states we have never heard of such a thing!
What he fails to realize is that a Frenchman did in fact "invent" the V-8, but they put it to the best use thus far in that it was used most by the French to retreat from an enemy.
Ahhh could tell stright away this was an Aussie hard as it, with the Gum Trees in the background and the old farmer fence.
this guy can drive.
