    Thanks for these demos. Watercolourist here.
    I came here after doing “pollinators week” at a local community centre that included an oil pastel workshop.
    Haven’t used oil pastels since I was very young, so was rather dubious about the medium. Actually, I had rather a lot of fun, finding them very forgiving as well as enjoying their quick coverage of the seemingly enormous a2 sized brown paper provided.
    Your demos of different kinds of mark making was a revelation. I’m off to buy that super cheap mont Marte set that’s just fine into Xmas sale…

    I would add to the plus list that you don’t need much more than surface and pastels and maybe some paper tissue to start.
