A very tired Alec takes us on a very informal meandering walk-through of Handbuilt 2019.
We learns Alec's secret to searching Craigslist for mis-listed deals, his vintage Harley Sportster and a one of his favorite bikes of the show.
He then bumps into J Shia from Madhouse Motors about her crazy Indian/Royal Enfield custom machine. J walks us through every minute detail that is definitely intricately deliberately complicated.
Alec then bumps around the show bumping into friends and starts chatting with Sean Cooney and talks with him about his 1970 Triumph Custom bike.
Then suddenly.....out of nowhere Alec runs into his long lost father, Craig Rodsmith.

who needs a drink, I feel drunk only from the auto focus on that camera. It like being his drunk friend following him around. I like it :p

I love the Royal Enfield. For me, this bike is not about the provenance of the parts used as much as it is about what happens when you force something new to be made from them. There are lines and details to this bike that are new and beautiful and can stand the test of time. If you don't like a certain part when you zoom in and realize what it actually is (egg slicer, shoe ruler), then you have to take a step back, so to speak, to get back to where you thought it was beautiful. That is ingenious and you both stand up for that. Great Job J. Shia and Alec.

    J. Shia is building with her hands and she revives our heritage. Just imagine as she starts working with donor parts and bikes that have more meaning to a larger motorcycling audience.

I loved J. Shia's bike last year and this year's bike was just as good if not better. I love her style artistically, definitely a fan!!!

So many cool and talented people in the world.. that girl's bike is a gem. If I didn't live in a big city I'd be trying to buy it off her

Damn, that Boston chicks bike is KILLER. I normally like more functional bikes but I just want to look at it all day. I’m going to watch that part again.

It's a bit steampunk meets found objects the way she repurposed so many things. Pretty cool

Honestly its a stupid concept, stupid expensive thing.. you can't ride it, and what's the point of butchering old bikes... are new frames that expensive? Asdn if you are not going to ride it, what's the whole point of the thing?

That is the first time i have ever heard a builder be totaly honest about there bikes. If the bike sucks to drive, it is no shame in admiting it ;)

I find that every time a bike has been sitting for a long time after being worked on,. That the reason it was parked to die was due to getting the timing 180 degrees out and giving up cause they couldn't diagnos the problem.

J's bike is ... INSANELY COOL hot rod. Also the Motorhead barman ... love it (it does not matter that Motorhead's meaning is nothing close to motorcycles)

Dude J from madhouse motors is the real fuckin deal. You could see the dude interviewing literally swallow his pride while looking over the Indian hahahaha. Just keep telling them you don't know much about these it's fine bud 👍😉

I love those old Harley XLCH's. I like the turtle tanks better than the smaller tanks. That woman builder is a total bad ass. Pretty sure she chopped up a Brannock device (foot measuring tool) to use as a foot peg. Pretty crazy.

She absolutely did. Until this weekend I'd never heard of a Brannock Device and twice in two days it's come up.

I'd take the Sportser over the other bikes, that R.E. Indian is cool, but it kills me that she chopped up a fairly rare original bike.

Butcher a vintage bike that is not fit to ride? Just make one out of plaster if its for showing... don't ruin old bikes like that
