  • How to install horn contact bushing for Willys Jeep years 41-49. The horn button wire is soldered to the steering column horn contact bushing and connects directly to the steering column horn contact brush.
    Comes complete with new rubber button, specialty nut and contact brass disc, wiring, and small parts kit. This kit works with the steering wheel that uses the 1-1/4" rubber cap over the nut. You can use this kit with both the 914047 & A6858 steering wheels.

    Slides down your inner steering tube and worm gear to make contact to the outer steering column brush. For early style horns where the horn wire does not go thru the bottom of the steering gear box. Inner horn wire solders directly to this.

    Exacting reproduction of the original contact brush with copper contact as it's the only one available anywhere with the correct contact material but more importantly the copper doesn't wear out the brass steering column ring.
    Mounts on your lower outer steering column to make contact to the inner horn bushing. For early style horns where the horn wire does not go thru the bottom of the steering gear box.

    During the harsh winter months in Canada we decided to take the Willys apart, fix a few parts, and get it back on the road. Then repeat this the next winter. During the winter of 2021 we rebuilt the brakes and basic engine upgrades (spark plugs, water pump, distributor, ignition coil, etc.). THIS winter of 2022 we are tackling to replace the transmission and transfercase but finding lots of other problems deep within the engine.     Le plus simple pour passer le fil, c'est de commencer par enfiler un fil de fer par le regard. Ensuite, on soude l'extrémité du fil de fer au fil de l'avertisseur et on tire. Une fois l'extrémité du fil passée par le regard, on désoude le fil de fer pour souder le fil électrique sur la bague en laiton. Ne pas oublier de placer un petit morceau de gaine thermorétractable au niveau du regard.

    I have never seen a worm gear bearing that is plastic like that. What are the advantages and where did you get it?
