Definitely a fix for it. Had it on my G80 and did this recently, made the rattle go away.

For those looking for the right tape, it’s called felt tape or anti abrasion tape.
This fix definitely works.

I do, it creaks like crazy. Threw some lubricant on the sunroof surround and it stopped it
