This’ll ruin my day. Been one of my favorite trucking channels for a couple years now. What a hell of a guy, learned a lot from him. Rest easy, Dave. Thanks for everything.

The good ones die young, it seems. I've been watching him for years... He was a truckers trucker, listening to him, and his knowledge and advice was as historic as red-eye radio.
I learned more from watching Dave’s videos then both my CDL school and current company taught me, Dave was a gem for new drivers getting in. My condolences to your family.
My thoughts exactly... He was my mentor so to speak. everything from common sense to chaining up. My condolences to your family, RIP Dave, you were an inspiration. 💔
Took the words right out of my mouth….. RIP Dave, you will be missed by many. Thank you for not only getting me interested in trucking, but mentoring with your invaluable videos throughout my first few years. God bless the Macmillan family.
Thoughts and prayers of peace & comfort to Dave’s family both personal and professional. I Enjoyed watching Dave and learning even after 41 years of experience myself. He’ll be greatly missed!
This man was a certified true "trucker" if there ever was one, we lost one of the greats. I learned so much from him, he helped shape me into the almost 10-year trucking vet that I am today. Rest easy driver, your shift is over. We'll keep the freight rolling from here, Godspeed.
I am Khaled Abed from Iraq. I would like to express my deepest condolences for the loss of your late Mr. Dave MacMillan, who will remain in our hearts forever. God willing, he will be blessed with a place in the gardens of paradise among the righteous. I wish you patience and solace in this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.❤❤
OMG I just came across this……what on earth happened? I feel like I just lost a family member. Best Trucker……and his old school stories kept me remembering good times. 😢😢😢
I’ve been watching him for less than a year. I’m only 17, but he has been a large part of my learning about becoming a trucker. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family. He’ll be missed by everyone but the EPA ❤
I got my CDL 5 years ago. When I was studying for my test this channel was the first Channel that I found and I never stopped watching it. This is a bummer
His advice helped me out a lot when I was Rookie and saved me from making serious mistakes. Even as a more experienced driver, his winter driving advice got me through some very serious stuff. Rest in Peace Dave, the world is darker without you😔
I am sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed his videos. Being the same age his videos brought back many memories and helped me keep up with current events❤

Rest Easy Dave, We'll take it from here. We offer our most sincere condolences. You taught us a ton, and we will miss your stories, they live on with every upload you had.

If there is a heaven for a Truck Driver Mr. Macmillan will surely be there. From the instructor Videos to the Live streams that keep people awake at night Dave will be missed. Condolences to the MacMillan Family. Rest in peace.
I met Dave some 35 years ago in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario I bumped into him on and off as truckers do for a few years before I moved out west. He was the real deal back then it came through on his TH-cam channel as well. Cathy, you and I have talked on the phone a few years ago when I was at the Peterbilt store on the West Coast. My most profound condolences to you and the family. He will be greatly missed those that knew them well.
No damn way,I've been watching Dave for quite a few years now, learned a lot from him,I feel like I've lost a family member. Roll on driver,we got the wheel from here
I can’t believe it. There’s just no way, he had so much more to teach some of us veteran truckers. Only because the rookies don’t want to learn from REAL TRUCKERS
Damn! Damn! Damn! Ive been a new CDL holder and an Owner Operator at the same time. In a couple months it will be 7 years of my trucking business and experience. The majority of my knowledge started with his “how to find a good used truck” and “buying the right truck for the job” to now wanting to possibly pull a Tanker because Dave said “try it, you might like it”. I learned a whole lot from Dave. I still to this day look for advice that he provides on this channel. I make sure that I practiced what he preached. He was my online mentor. This is huge and sad news. RIP Dave and thank you for being you! My condolences to the family and thanks for having the respect for us subscribers to let us know that he’ll no longer be here to teach and support us. Even though I will miss “its story time”, ,,, I look forward to the new content that you will provide. Long live Dave!! 🙏🏿
Dave was a great mentor always had a great advice. Truly sad to hear the loss of a great truck driver. Dave will always be remembered in the trucking community.

Smart Trucking has been a go to channel since I started trucking 6 years ago. Really learned a lot about the industry from Dave. His legacy will live on. RIP Dave. My Condolences.
I am a retired short-haul trucker in Virginia and always enjoyed his videos. He was a very sensible man with a massive amount of information. He was truly a bank of knowledge who definitely was a credit to the profession. Condolences to his family and may he Rest In Peace!! 🇺🇸 🇨🇦
This is extremely saddening, watched Dave since 2016 when I got into trucking and learned so much. Him sharing his knowledge and experiences as well as his stories are invaluable. I always say this is the best trucking channel there is and I always recommend it to the new guys coming in to trucking, so that they can learn some of the tips and tricks of a true professional truck driver because I want them to be safe on the road. Dave’s teachings absolutely helped save lives and made better truck drivers. I learned so much from him that wasn’t taught at school or by the companies I worked for. Rest In Piece Dave, you created the best trucking channel there is and thank you for creating it and leaving it for us and the future generation of professional truck drivers to learn from. Keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down! And to his wife Cathy who is just as important to this channel my condolences go out to you and your family.
Dave helped me make the right choices in the trucking industry since my first day as a driver. He seemed like an awesome guy. I will miss his videos. Sorry for your loss. Keep the rubber side down. RIP

I met Dave at a Loves many year back. He signed Mack hat. We had a good laugh and he helped me with a pigtail issue I was having. I could listen to him talk all day about trucking. Dave, as soon as I hit the highway and without no one around, I'll blow that air horn for ya.. Eastbound & Down.. all the way to heaven 🚚 😢
My most sincere condolences to you Mrs. C/Kathy and your family. I can’t even believe this is true 😢😢. When I started trucking back in 2015. I learned so much from him that made me better as a truck driver. I also enjoyed his trucking stories as well. May God be with yall through this terrible time. Salute to Mr. Dave. I’m in total shock that one of my favorite trucking platforms is gone. Dave, you will be missed and the trucking platform will never be the same with you gone. I thank you for all the wisdom and knowledge you have passed down to me over the last four years I have been a trucker. My condolences 💐 to the Macmillan family.
I'm really sorry for your loss. Anyone who watches this channel has lost a great source of knowledge. I had a driver trainer a lot like Dave, he didn't just teach me to drive a truck, he taught me to be a truck driver. He probably saved my life because I was only 21 when I started long hauling. I think any young driver should watch every video on this channel as part of their training. I really like the content and think Dave and I would have been buudies if we met up out on the road. Catch you on the backhaul Dave...
