The people with ill intent can almost definitely come via legal channels... Especially if they have money and planning behind them.
Plus, with money, you can just hire people in the US to take action on your behalf.
As far as American values go... I don't like disruption to existing systems (like cities ending up with far more people than they can handle).
But, until the early 1900s, you could mostly just walk into the US.
WW2 resulted in everyone suddenly needing passports, and declaring what country claims ownership of them.
But citizenship doesn't really imply loyalty. If it automatically implied standards, there would be almost no criminals in any country.
Migration is in the end, a fundamentally human thing.

Yeah, but it's unclear how much good it really does to go this route.
Maybe there are really incompetent people out there trying to cause trouble for us. But generally, even all this security wouldn't stop competent people.
Plus, the borders have been mostly open for a long time. Nothing like S11 has resulted from it.

Once you acknowledged native Americans as immigrants I could not take what you said next seriously. Had you acknowledged Europeans as immigrants that would have been fine, but no we are all settlers living on Native American lands illegally.

@@Anna8765 maybe you missed the point. He said "yes" to legal immigrants and "no" to illegal (unchecked) immigrants. Safety and security reasons. He spoke about immigrants from all directions. Listen again.

@ I am coming from a critical thinking stand point. If he is saying no to illegal immigrants then he is technically saying that he himself is not a legal immigrant because everyone besides Indigenous people living on the lands in North America are living here illegally. So no I am not missing the point, I don’t even want to begin to comprehend the point that he is trying to make with the mindset that he is coming from.

He is speaking about non registered new immigrants, with bad, hidden, unspoken intentions I guess...

@@mariadelpilargarcia9561 I am an Indigenous studies major, you’re wasting your time trying to convince me that European settlers aren’t living here illegally. I won’t waste my time arguing with uneducated colonial mindset thinkers.

@@Anna8765 I am a lawyer and your point of view is not logical from my perspective and education. Free speech is a must. I am from Argentina, living in South America, anyway.
