- Laira was a very special girl to anyone that knew her. She was afraid of the world when we first knew her. It took her years to overcome her fear, but she did. Carol and Kim gave her the life she deserved, full of love without condition, and to feel no fear. You will always be Clara to some. Run fear free sweet girl, 'til we meet again.
What a moving Tribute to Laira... I'm sure she's smiling down on you to let you know she's very happy and in good hands. 🙏

I really appreciate all that you are trying to accomplish with low to no cost behavioral assistance!! There are so many animals that end up without a home just because their guardians have neither the knowledge nor resources to help their dog overcome behavioral and psychological issues!! As a behaviorist I tend towards adopting dogs with issues that other people pass over. My most recent adoptee was severely abused and neglected, and although he has fear and self esteem issues he is a very sweet boy.
In my opinion, the first step to helping animals like my Simon is a deep well of patience and not setting unrealistic goals. Organizations that help people acquire the resources and knowledge to help an animal, and thus keep more of them in their homes and/or placement into loving homes that will help the animal recover, are sorely needed!! ❤❤
I know they are in heaven waiting for us to be reunited with them one day because Jesus promised to make all things new including our beloved pets. Rip Riley and Pugsly til I see you again love you
